Promising second of 10 in minor event at Catterick (5f, good) on debut 35 days ago, clear of rest. Likely more to come and this stiffer test will suit.

Verdict

SOCIETY QUEEN was beaten just a neck on her debut at Catterick last month and wouldn't have to improve much on that effort to score. Light Heart looks the pick of the newcomers for Mark Johnston, ahead of Hurricane Hero, who is arguably bred for longer trips further down the line.

Verdict

SOCIETY QUEEN pulled clear of the remainder when runner-up on her debut at Catterick last month and looks sure to progress, particularly now stepped up in trip. She can open her account. Light Heart looks the pick of the newcomers, ahead of Hurricane Hero.

Duke of Marmalade filly. Dam, 1m-12.4f winner, half-sister to useful 7f/1m winner Lord of The Rock. Market check advised on debut.

Verdict

Michael Dods has been among the winners recently and runs a pair of interesting newcomers in Magic's Boy and Sweet Marmalade, while She's Pukka has winning form to her name already and ran respectably when fourth at Wetherby on her reappearance. It could be worth siding with HOME BEFORE DUSK, who showed improvement from his Thirsk debut to take third over a mile here last time, with Glasses Up and Doon Star well in arrears.

Verdict

SHE'S PUKKA shaped as if better for the run when an encouraging fourth at Wetherby on her reappearance and is taken to return to winning ways. Home Before Dusk and Butterfly Lily are other key players.

Lightly-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 66/1) 10 days ago. 1 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

A couple of these could take advantage of the handicapper's leniency if finding form, as Archimedes is 4lb lower than when successful at Southwell in March and Dawoodi has slipped to an attractive rating if finding the form he showed at the end of last season. Star Cracker has gone close here in the past and must be considered, but it might be worth taking a chance on CELERITY, who was on the heels of the winner at Wolverhampton last time and could be hitting top form.

Verdict

STAR CRACKER had little chance on his latest start and is best judged on his 2 previous near-misses last month. He holds major claims in a race that shouldn't take a great deal of winning. Perfect Words and Brendan are others to consider.

Latest win at Wolverhampton in February. Bit below form fourth of 8 in handicap (20/1) at this course (6f, firm) 14 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. 1 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

MY NAME IS RIO bounced back to his best form with a close second at Thirsk last time and a 1lb rise for that effort may not be enough to stop him. Jack The Truth ran well for second on the all-weather at Lingfield last time and looks the main danger, particularly if first-time blinkers pep him up. Landing Night has a chance if forgiven his latest outing, while Oriental Lilly is now just 2lb higher than when last successful.

Verdict

JACK THE TRUTH had a productive winter, scoring 3 times, and proved he's just as effective on turf with fine efforts in defeat the last twice. He can land the spoils here. Landing Night, Oriental Lilly and My Name Is Rio make up the shortlist.

Verdict

A 3lb rise for finishing second at Carlisle last time could be seen as harsh on FLORENCIO, but that showed he acts well on turf and still puts him 4lb lower than when successful on the all-weather at Southwell two starts ago. He is taken to get the better of Our Charlie Brown, who wasn't far away at Catterick latest, and Saint Equiano, who appeared to get back to his very best form when fourth over course and distance last time.

Verdict

ALEMARATALYOUM caught the eye on just his second start for Iain Jardine here last time, finishing with running left after meeting trouble. He gets the nod in what looks a competitive event. Saint Equiano and Our Charlie Brown head the list of dangers.

Verdict

Wor Lass won well over a furlong further at Musselburgh last time and has to be considered, as does Dalshand, who appeared to relish the stiffer test of stamina when second at Pontefract last time. Preference, though, is for INGLEBY HOLLOW, who has yet to finish out of the first two in three starts this term, including a victory over 1m6f at Wetherby last month.

Verdict

This can go to WOR LASS, who took advantage of a drop in the weights when resuming winning ways at Musselburgh earlier this month. Still fairly treated, she is taken to follow up here. Ingleby Hollow and Artful Rogue can emerge next best.
