Bumper winner but failed to match her form in that discipline since switched to hurdling, runner-up at Uttoxeter on return. However, needs considering in this company.

Verdict

THELUNARSCHOONER bumped into a useful rival with plenty of experience when second at Uttoxeter last time and, not disgraced having her first run for 291 days, Warren Greatrex's mare can go one better. Five-time Flat winner Henry Smith could have more to offer over hurdles, while point winner Sad Eyed Dylan can't be ignored. True Companion, Lester Kris and Promise Of Peace are all hurdling newcomers to keep an eye on representing top stables.

Verdict

Those who set the standard don't set a particularly high one so no surprise if one of the ex-Flat performers proved up to making a winning debut, PROMISE OF PEACE preferred to True Companion and Lester Kris before market clues.

Verdict

CAHILL is interesting making his stable debut for Warren Greatrex having won four times over the past two years while racing in Jersey. The six-year-old won the JT Rewards 2018 Champion Hurdle on his latest start at Les Landes and could be the one to follow on his chasing bow. Zoltan Varga produced a respectable performance on his chasing debut at Newton Abbot last month and could build on that, with Uttoxeter second Omega Springs also noted.

Verdict

ISLE ROAD went for home too soon at Cartmel last time and is worth another chance to show he's still on a winning mark. Zoltan Varga should build on last month's Newton Abbot chase bow and is much respected along with Omega Springs, who made a good start for his new stable when second at Uttoxeter.

Won at Uttoxeter and Ffos Las in June. Couldn't complete the hat-trick at Newton Abbot last time but still performed with credit in third.

Verdict

Donald McCain's impressive Cartmel winner Beach Break has to be given a huge chance, despite returning to the handicap ranks off a career-high mark, as the handler is no stranger to success at this venue. Ambre Des Marais is another to note having only been denied by a nose at Warwick last time, but preference is for C&D winner ATLANTIC STORM, who has done well over fences of late and switches back to hurdles off a 7lb lower mark.

Verdict

Dan Skelton's ATLANTIC STORM has been in good form over fences since his C&D second in May and looks the one to beat back hurdling in first-time blinkers. Ambre des Marais could be the one to give him most to do ahead of Borak.

Generally progressive last season (won 3 times) and upped her form again last 3 starts, winning at Warwick and this C&D. Remains of strong interest.

Verdict

Red Giant warrants plenty of respect following his 11-length Market Rasen success, but Olly Murphy's less exposed CRAIGMOR shades the verdict in receipt of 5lb. The six-year-old certainly showed no signs of stopping when successful on his chasing debut over the extended 2m3f at Stratford and a 5lb rise might not be enough to anchor him. Hat-trick seeking Irish Octave and Perfect Timing, who has been knocking on the door, are others to note.

Verdict

The likeable IRISH OCTAVE did well under the circumstances when scoring over C&D last time and should make a bold bid for the hat-trick back from a break. Craigmor impressed when making a winning chase debut in this headgear at Stratford and is an obvious threat, with Red Giant another likely danger if able to back up his win at Market Rasen 2 weeks ago.

Successful off this mark at Perth last September but well held on each of his 3 subsequent starts.

Verdict

SILK RUN showed a liking for this track when scoring impressively over the extended 2m3f last time and, with this longer trip not a concern, she gets the vote to defy a lenient 5lb rise back in handicap company. Stay In Touch was a little disappointing at Perth most recently but remains in decent form, while Vive Le Roi and Mullaghboy, both placed when last sighted, also have place credentials.

Verdict

MULLAGHBOY found just the one too good back in this sphere over C&D last time and he is the most appealing of these. Silk Run did the job well in a maiden hurdle on the same card and will be a big player if coping with this stiffer test but a bigger threat may be posed by Danceintothelight, who will be dangerous if allowed to dominate.

Verdict

PRETTY RECKLESS has been knocking on the door, both in this sphere and over fences, and, still attractively handicapped in comparison to her chase rating, she could prove tough to beat in first-time blinkers. Handy Hollow has performed well off a 1lb higher rating on his last four starts and he ought to be in the shake-up, while Sense Of Urgency needs to recapture the sort of form shown when winning at Hexham in June.

Verdict

Ifs and buts about every runner and it could be worth chancing FOR JIM, who returns to the scene of his best effort back from a break. He has a race in him from his current mark. Pretty Reckless looks a certainty for a place again at the very least, while Never A Word is worth a look back under Brian Hughes.
