Verdict

SURREY BLAZE ran on well to lead near the finish in a 1m4f handicap at Leicester last time and seemingly won a shade cosily. There could be further improvement to come from Joseph Tuite's charge following a 4lb rise in the ratings. Hallingham is rated 6lb lower than when winning over track and trip last year and is the one expected to put up most resistance. Warofindependence, 3lb higher in the handicap than for his all-weather win in May, looks best of the rest.

Verdict

Course-regular GLENS WOBBLY retains plenty of enthusiasm despite his advancing years and the prospect of an uncontested lead means that he is an appealing value option against the thriving Surrey Blaze.

Verdict

NORTH KOREA made all to win over this trip on turf at Lingfield last time and could feasibly repeat those tactics under Nicola Currie again now turned out under a penalty. All Back To Mine finished second behind the selection last time and may narrow the gap now reopposing on better terms, while Leoube is expected to build on a solid effort on her handicap bow over 6f at Haydock and also finish on the premises.

Verdict

NORTH KOREA posted a good time relative to the grade when making all on last week's nursery debut, so she could be set to follow up under a penalty. Leoube shaped well at Haydock and is feared most.

One win from 23 Flat runs. Sixteen runs since last win in 2016. First run since leaving Michael Appleby when twelfth of 13 in seller at Thirsk (6f, good, 25/1) 66 days ago.

Verdict

Last year's winner ARCHIMEDES seldom runs a bad race here and looks to have been targeted at this contest once more by David Griffiths. The five-year-old loves this fast ground and a 3lb drop back to a mark of 62 looks more than fair. Monumental Man won his first race since March 2017 at Brighton in a seller last week and warrants consideration if given a patent ride again, while Essaka should remain competitive after his Windsor success last time.

Verdict

ESSAKA goes unpenalised for last week's apprentice win at Windsor under this rider, so further success could well be forthcoming. Monumental Man also won last time but he must carry a penalty, so Archimedes is perhaps the chief theat.

Verdict

SHOW STEALER's form figures in class 4 events and below read 1122171, and the five-year-old remains on a workable mark of 84 after winning over course and distance 13 days ago under Silvestre De Sousa, This race doesn't look much stronger and the pair are expected to account for Justice Lady, who takes a drop in class, and Puds, who was an all-the-way winner at Windsor earlier this month and looks likely to be ridden prominently once more.

Verdict

SHOW STEALER remains with handicapping scope having been successful off this mark last year and can notch back-to back C&D wins under Silvestre De Sousa. Recent Windsor scorer Puds rates an obvious threat, while it wouldn't be a surprise to see Justice Lady click at some point for relatively new-trainer Robert Cowell.

Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Windsor (5f, good) 22 days ago, but has a bit to find here from 4 lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

REBEL STREAK bumped into an in-form rival when finishing second at Newmarket last time out and that followed his victory at Windsor. Procedure got off the mark in a Leicester handicap recently and a 5lb rise in the ratings for that success appears to be fair. Others to note in a very competitive contest are Count Otto, Little Boy Blue and Three Little Birds.

Verdict

The return to this extended 5f should suit REBEL STREAK who put in some good late work over the minimum trip at Newmarket last time. Procedure has got her career firmly back on track in recent weeks and looks the main threat to Andrew Balding's charge.

Verdict

DESERT CROSS arrives here having won both of his starts in 2018 and a 3lb rise for the most recent of those victories appears to be very fair. Morning Beauty is an unexposed filly who won a Haydock novice race two starts ago and she proved that this mark is workable by finishing second at Newmarket 17 days ago. All of the rest have chances but Sotomayor is the pick of them.

Verdict

DESERT CROSS has returned at the top of his game and a further 3 lb rise may not prevent him completing a hat-trick back at a track where he has such a good record. Morning Beauty has the potential for better still after only 4 starts and could be the one to give him most to do.
