Verdict

Dancing Rave sets the form standard on her C&D victory on debut but she's drawn wide and has a penalty to contend with this afternoon. Marginal preference is instead for UNDER CURFEW, who was beaten by under two lengths behind the first-named when fifth on debut and is entitled to come on for the run and take closer order from a low draw. Packington Lane makes some appeal on his Hamilton second last month, while any money for Richard Fahey's newcomer Myco would be notable.

Verdict

Despite showing obvious signs of greenness, UNDER CURFEW found the penny dropping late on when fifth behind re-opposing Dancing Rave over C&D 2 weeks ago, and he is expected to be seen in a much better light on this occasion, operating from the plum draw in stall 1. Packington Lane and Magical Spirit can also play their part.

Verdict

KINGSON was beaten by under a length when second over this trip on debut at Redcar and should take all of the beating if running to a similar level of form second time out. Newcastle winner Balance Of Power has a wide draw to overcome but could feasibly sneak some minor money. Others worthy of consideration are Noble Lineage, who performed with credit over 7f on debut at Wolverhampton, and Mark Johnston's newcomer Dream Sands.

Verdict

KINGSON showed plenty to work on and was the only one to trouble the unbeaten winner when a staying=on second over this trip at Redcar 24 days ago. With progress on the cards, he is fancied to make it second time lucky. Noble Lineage and Balance of Power also merit respect, whilst newcomer Dream Sands is very much in need of a market check.

Has yet to better poor form and well held ninth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) on her most recent start in July.

Verdict

JACBEQUICK returned to winning ways in a 1m2f seller at Redcar last time but he's also a C&D winner and therefore expected to remain competitive now dropping back in trip. Major Crispies was bought out of David O'Meara's yard by current connections after winning a course seller two runs ago and is dangerous at this level, while Richard Fahey representative Dontgiveuponbob is also considered a danger to all in receipt of weight-for-age.

Verdict

JACBEQUICK made the most of a good opportunity to score over further at Redcar 2 weeks ago, and given his versatility trip-wise, he is fancied to come out on top again. Dontgiveuponbob is feared most, ahead of Major Crispies.

Good second of 6 in minor event (9/4) at Nottingham (10.2f, good to firm) 39 days ago. Is proving largely consistent so no reason why he won't give it his best shot again.

Verdict

HAMLUL has shaped encouragingly in three starts in novice events and is expected to take a forward step now moving into handicap company. Metatrons Cube is 5lb higher than when scoring over a similar trip at Windsor last month but, like the selection, he commands respect as a three-year-old in receipt of weight-for-age. Everything For You is considered the pick of the older horses after going down narrowly at Nottingham recently.

Verdict

HAMLUL has shown plenty of ability on each of his 3 qualifying runs and, having shaped better than the bare result over further at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, he is fancied to strike now handicapping/dropped back in trip. Windsor-winner Metatrons Cube and Chingachgook are feared most, in that order.

One win from 22 Flat runs came here in July. First run since leaving Nigel Tinkler when respectable fourth of 9 in handicap (25/1) at Thirsk (12f, good to soft) 12 days ago.

Verdict

Ideal Candy made all over C&D last time and should give it another good go on the front end off 4lb higher. Weather Front was touched off by under a length off 5lb lower at Newcastle last time and could also take a hand if transferring his form back on turf, though preferred ahead of both is TAKE A TURN, who appeared to find 1m1f an inadequate test at Hamilton last month and promises to be suited by this step up in trip.

Verdict

IDEAL CANDY arrives firmly at the top of her game at present, posting a career-best effort to double her tally over C&D last month, tackled over 1f out but keeping on well. She is fancied to go well again despite a 4 lb higher mark. Weather Front did well from an unpromising position when second at Newcastle on his most recent start and is the chief danger, ahead of Take A Turn.

Winner at Ripon in June. 7/2, eighth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (12f, good to soft) 12 days ago. Had previously looked progressive at a low level but this is a step up in class.

Verdict

MOON OF BARODA posted his best effort yet when second over 1m6f at Sandown last time and is a potential improver now dropping back in distance. The fitting of first-time blinkers could be a source of immediate improvement for the consistent Vision Clear, while Silver Crescent could appreciate the step back up to 1m4f, over which he finished a half-length second at Wolverhampton in May, after finding 1m2f on the sharp side at Newbury latest.

Verdict

MOON OF BARODA has improved for the switch to handicaps of late, shaping well over further at Sandown last time without ever looking like getting to the all-the-way winner. He is open to further progress and is fancied to come out on top. Fellow 3-y-os Silver Crescent and Vision Clear can do battle for minor honours.

Remains a maiden after 17 Flat runs. 16/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) 11 days ago. Others have achieved more.

Verdict

Our Little Pony struck over C&D off 4lb lower on her penultimate outing and should show up well from a low draw, while recent Redcar winner Wrenthorpe makes obvious appeal as he attempts to defy a 4lb rise in the ratings. It may, however, be worth overlooking GOLD STONE's poor effort on soft ground at York last time now she returns to a C&D over which she landed a novice contest on good ground last summer. Her penultimate second on the all-weather at Wolverhampton suggests this 1lb lower mark is within her capabilities.

Verdict

WRENTHORPE was clearly aided by the application of cheekpieces when shedding the maiden tag at the sixth attempt at Redcar in June and he is fancied to go well again despite a 4 lb higher mark. Our Little Pony is proving consistent and should be in the mix, whilst Cameo Star may be the one to make late gains given his effectiveness over further.
