Verdict

HAADHIR has a very solid record on the all-weather and proved he acts on turf when third at Redcar last time. Ivan Furtado's colt looks capable of landing these spoils, especially as he receives 2lb from Dancing Rave, who scored on her debut here but is without a win in three starts since. Magical Spirit showed improvement on his debut to finish third here last time, but will have to progress again to land the spoils.

Verdict

Those with experience don't set the bar particularly high and it's perhaps worth taking a chance on Kevin Ryan newcomer POWER RUSH, although the market will reveal more. Haadhir has been consistent in similar events and is likely to be on the premises again, while Melgate Magic took a step forward at Wolverhampton last time and should have more to offer.

40/1, eighth of 9 in maiden at Newcastle (7.1f) on debut 22 days ago.

Verdict

SAMEEM went close over this track and trip two starts ago and looked capable of picking up a pot such as this one when second at Thirsk last time. He is taken to have the measure of Four Mile Bridge, who defied odds of 100-1 to finish third at Newmarket last time. Fenjal was a respectable fifth on debut at Ffos Las and could improve, while newcomer War Chariot is worth a second glance for Mark Johnston.

Verdict

Not a strong maiden, so newcomer WAR CHARIOT, the first foal of a debut 2-y-o winner, could be up to the job. Four Mile Bridge and Sameem are probably the pick of those with experience.

Thirteen runs since last win in 2017. Sixth of 7 in handicap at Carlisle (1m, heavy, 11/2) 13 days ago.

Verdict

Archie has been running well in recent weeks but the suspicion remains that he saves his very best for Brighton, while Zeshov's Musselburgh form is much stronger than recent runs away from the Scottish venue. Desert Dream won at Carlisle last time so should have no issue with the uphill finish here, but preference is for EQUIANO SPRINGS, who left a number of poor efforts behind when third over track and trip last time and is 1lb lower here.

Verdict

ZESHOV shaped as if still in good form at Doncaster last time and a 5 lb rise for his comfortable Musselburgh success at the start of the month looks manageable. Archie has had a pretty good spell of late and ought to be competitive again, while Beverley Bullet wasn't seen to best effect at Pontefract last week and was runner-up over C&D earlier in the campaign.

Verdict

PERFECT PASTURE is well clear of the rest on official figures having won a Listed contest at Doncaster early in the season. He missed the majority of the summer after that March win but showed signs he was coming back to form when sixth in the Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday. Savalas has struggled the last twice but has strong claims on his earlier form, while Orvar and Merhoob have a fair bit to find with the selection on official figures but do have recent wins to their names.

Verdict

PERFECT PASTURE ran well off top weight in the Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday and may take the beating if this doesn't come too quickly. This scenario should suit Chelmsford-winner Merhoob and he could go well again.

Winner at Southwell in April. 13/2, seventh of 9 in handicap at Hamilton (9.2f, good to firm). Off 117 days. Must improve.

Verdict

The hat-trick could be on for ARCHIE PERKINS, who struck off a mark of 61 over this trip last month and followed up over 1m2f here 10 days later. He is now rated 70, which will make life tougher, but he is evidently in the form of his life at this track. Ideal Candy continues to hold her form well and looks a danger, as does recent Pontefract winner Detachment.

Verdict

DETACHMENT turned a slightly stronger handicap than this into a one-sided affair at Pontefract on Thursday and is very much the one to beat under a penalty. 3-y-o Archie Perkins chases a hat-trick and has landed the inside stall, so is second choice, though Stubytuesday could easily revive having dipped below his last successful mark.

Thrice-raced maiden. Sixth of 11 in minor event at Carlisle (9f, soft, 150/1) 19 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Makes handicap debut. Impovement needed and will find easier races.

Verdict

STRINGYBARK CREEK was a good winner on Saturday at Catterick, continuing his excellent form since joining David Loughnane, and he can defy a penalty to make it four wins out of his last seven outings. Thornaby Nash won his latest start at Carlisle on heavy ground and will have similar conditions off a 3lb higher mark, while April Rising makes some appeal off an opening rating of 58 having shown some promise at Carlisle last time.

Verdict

STRINGYBARK CREEK has done well this year when turned out quickly after victories and can follow up Saturday's Catterick win under a penalty. Roman de Brut could have more to offer back from a break for Ivan Furtado, while the returning Collingham Park may also feature after wind surgery.

Once-raced maiden. Hooded, fifth of 9 in minor event at Windsor (10f, good to firm, 20/1) on debut 36 days ago. Should improve and likely to play a leading role.

Verdict

ATHARY, a half-sister to 2000 Guineas and Derby winner Camelot, found herself outpaced at crucial stage on her debut at Windsor last month but with softer ground coming to her aid here, she may well be able to build on that opening outing to prove to be the one to beat. A step up in trip can help Thawry go close, while Mark Johnston's New Approach newcomer, Charles Kingsley, is worthy of a market check at a track the handler often has success at.

Verdict

The hint should be taken if the market speaks in favour of likely-looking newcomer CHARLES KINGSLEY. Indeed, he's been found a very winnable race in which to kick-start his career. Thawry is clearly effective on a slow surface judged on his efforts in France, but he's hardly progressive and Athary, who showed ability on debut at Windsor, is feared most.
