Verdict

LUCCA LADY, who has earned an official rating of 118, has been running really well in handicap company of late and the return to this grade can see the daughter of Milan get off the mark this afternoon. Beach Break is another whose recent form suggests that he can go well in a race of this nature, while The Steward and Da Dou Ron Ron complete the shortlist.

Verdict

This all revolves around LUCCA LADY, who has run some fine races in defeat over hurdles and can finally be rewarded with a well-deserved victory. Beach Break and The Steward can battle it out for minor honours.

Maiden on the Flat and over jumps but did produce her best effort when third over 22f here in a first-time visor in May. Claims if she can reproduce that now.

Verdict

ALFIE'S CHOICE won well on his debut for this yard over 2m6f here in May and that form suggests that a mark of 117 may underestimate his ability. Dreamsoftheatre is another who arrives here on the back of a victory at this track and he could prove to be the main threat to the selection, despite a 7lb rise in the ratings. Camillas Wish and Loud And Clear are others who merit consideration.

Verdict

CAMILLAS WISH has a fine overall record at this venue and is worth a chance to bounce straight back from a rare poor run here last time. Alfie's Choice made a winning start for Keith Dalgleish here in May and rates an obvious danger, while Chocolat Noir was an improved second on her first visit to this course and also merits respect.

Verdict

Celtic Monarch made a winning seasonal debut at Uttoxeter last month and that form gives him a big chance today. However, the preference is for JUSTATENNER after his cosy win over this course and distance a few weeks ago. That was his first start for this yard and even a 7lb hike in the ratings may not be enough to stop him today. News For Pascal and Big Picture are the pick of the remaining field.

Verdict

HANDY HOLLOW arrives on the back of 2 good efforts and he’s taken to open his account over hurdles. Celtic Monarch remains well treated on old form despite his inconsistencies, while Short Flight is worth a look in the betting back from a break fitted with a visor having edged a bit further down the weights.

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser at his best. Typically let down by jumping on first run for in-form yard at Ffos Las recently but this is a good opportunity if keeping mistakes down. Headgear back on.

Verdict

DEAR SIRE reached a fair level over hurdles having won a Scottish County Hurdle at Musselburgh earlier this year and, on ratings, he should prove to be a cut above his rivals providing he takes to the larger obstacles. Applesandpierres returns to chasing for the first time since January 2017 and looks the clear best of the remainder, while Trafalgar Rock and Cool Valley can fight it out for the minor honours.

Verdict

Not a strong race and a great opportunity for DEAR SIRE to make a winning start over fences if his stamina lasts out. Trafalgar Rock's jumping is a concern but he's probably the one most likely to take advantage should the selection not deliver.

Successful at Wetherby last autumn but hasn't returned in much form, well beaten over hurdles here 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces go on (has worn hood to win in the past).

Verdict

Raise A Spark made a successful start to his chasing career when winning in good style here over 2m5f in May and there is every chance he has more to offer. That said, a chance is taken on WISTY, who has a 100% record over fences at the track (3-3) and a return to his favourite venue could see him bounce back to his best. Oliver's Gold looks best of the remainder.

Verdict

RAISE A SPARK looks set to be just as good over fences as hurdles judged on his comfortable win here in May and can follow up from last year's 1-2 Wisty and Oliver's Gold.

Verdict

EARTHMOVES should have come on markedly for his first run since February when third at Newton Abbot earlier this month and looks poised to go well for the in-form Peter Bowen. The Pembrokeshire-based handler enjoys plenty of success here and his eight-year-old looks open to improvement over these longer distances. Alderbrook Lad ran well here three weeks ago despite being 2lb 'wrong' at the weights, while Shake It Up provides Micky Hammond with a strong hand in the race.

Verdict

JOVIAL JOEY took a step back in the right direction at Perth last time and might be worth chancing off what has become a favourable mark based on his best form. Easy Street travelled well for a long way in a very competitive heat at Uttoxeter last time and should go well in these calmer waters, while Micky Hammond pair Shake It Up and Alderbrook Lad have good records at this venue.
