Verdict

REFLECT ALEXANDER finished a creditable fourth in Listed company at Newmarket two starts ago and ran well at this track when beaten by just a neck into third over 6f last time. The drop back to the minimum trip could be just what she requires as she bids to notch an overdue success. What Do You Think and Rema Al Kuwait are entitled to come on for their debut spins, while any money for newcomers Cool Baby and Sandie Gem would be notable.

Verdict

REFLECT ALEXANDER showed improved form when going down narrowly here last week and sets a high standard on that effort. Sandie Gem and fellow newcomer Cool Baby are feared most.

Verdict

MANATEE BAY struggled to get competitive in handicap company at Hamilton last time but is entitled to improve for this drop in grade and appears favourably weighted on these terms. Searanger landed a C&D seller here in May and should be thereabouts now dropping back out of handicaps, while the return to 6f is considered a positive for C&D winner Bold Spirit, who struggled over 7f here last time out.

Verdict

MANATEE BAY hasn't been at this best this season but this represents a big drop in class and should prove hard to beat. Searanger is selected for the forecast.

Lightly-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in handicap at Beverley (12.1f, good to firm, 16/1) 49 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Out of the weights but is open to improvement.

Verdict

Cool Music is only 3lb higher than when scoring over this trip at Beverley last time out and is expected to remain competitive, though marginal preference is for THREE DUCHESSES, who romped home by six lengths over 1m2f at Yarmouth last time and is expected to take plenty of beating now stepped up to 1m4f as she bids to defy a penalty. Recent Redcar winner Shambra is respected, while Fillydelphia is proven under these conditions and is another capable of taking a hand.

Verdict

The improvement shown by THREE DUCHESSES at Yarmouth last week is hard to fathom on the face of it, but she is ahead of the handicapper turned out under a penalty so is worth siding with to back that performance up. Fellow-last-time out winners Shambra and Cool Music have more to do this time, so Fillydelphia is feared most.

Verdict

SCOFFLAW was denied by just a head over this trip at Haydock last time and although the handicapper has handed Richard Fahey's charge a 4lb rise, he remains on an upward curve and is expected to take it in his stride. Love Oasis was beaten by a neck off this mark at Chester last weekend and is weighted to finish on the premises once again, while Straightothepoint and Meshardal make most appeal of the older horses and have place possibilities.

Verdict

This represents a slight drop in class for STRAIGHTOTHEPOINT, and in sprinting terms he is a very reliable operator, so is taken to gain a deserved success. Love Oasis may have to do a little bit extra to navigate stall 6 but she is an in-form filly, while Meshardal has already enjoyed a productive season.

Fair filly. 16/1, fifteenth of 17 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 90 days ago, never nearer. Should run closer to form this time.

Verdict

DANDYS DENOUEMENT has improved between runs to date and is expected to build on his distance second at Thirsk, when defeated by half a length, to strike at the third time of asking. Khitaamy has shown enough on his three starts to date to be considered a live contender, while it will be interesting to see if this step up in trip can enable Hamriyah and Kulgri to better what they've shown over sprint trips of late.

Verdict

DANDYS DENOUEMENT was a huge improver just 10 days on from his debut when runner-up over this trip at Thirsk a month ago, and this is a maiden there for the taking. Khitaamy is bred to be much better than he has shown so far and us the obvious threat.

Verdict

WADOOD landed a C&D maiden last season and looked on good terms with himself when making all at Yarmouth last time out. Robert Cowell's charge has bagged a rail draw here and could take plenty of catching. Yorkshiredebut reaches for first-time cheekpieces to try rejuvenate him but his stable appear to have a less exposed contender in handicap debutant Caesar's Comet. Liberatum wasn't beaten far off 1lb higher at Redcar latest and is considered the principal threat.

Verdict

C&D winner WADOOD stepped up markedly on his reappearance effort when making all at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago, and with similar tactics likely to serve him well once more around here, all looks set fair for another bold showing. Yorkshiredebut shades the vote over Liberatum for the forecast.

Lightly-raced maiden on Flat. Sixth of 9 in handicap (80/1) at Hamilton (11.1f, good) 35 days ago.

Verdict

TONTO'S SPIRIT was denied a hat-trick on his last start on the Flat but he was far from disgraced in third that day at Hamilton and remains on a fair mark in this sphere relative to his 66lb higher hurdles perch. Swansway was touched off by under a length over 1m2f at Nottingham last time and could benefit from this step up in trip, while Chepstow third Miss Tree continues to hold her form well and could similarly take a hand.

Verdict

Redcar winner MISS TREE may well have benefited from having more use made of her when third in her follow-up bid at Chepstow 2 weeks ago, and from a handy draw in stall 3, she earns the vote in the hope that is the case here. Tonto's Spirit and Swansway are a couple of others arriving in good form, and head up the dangers.
