Twice-raced maiden. 4/1, second of 7 in minor event at Catterick (5f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Respected.

Verdict

EMILIA JAMES was inconvenienced by a terrible draw at Chester in the Lily Agnes so did very well to finish as close as she did in fourth behind Yogi's Girl and has a lot more in her favour on this occasion. Queen Of Kalahari got off the mark at the third attempt when winning at Leicester and is entitled to improve from that, while Blessed To Empress should benefit from a return to the all-weather.

Verdict

EMILIA JAMES wasn't seen to best effect at Chester but she won her maiden by 4 lengths at Beverley the time before and sets the standard on that form. Three Little Birds was much better for her debut when runner-up at Catterick and is feared most.

Seventh of 9 in handicap at Chester (5.1f, good to firm, 33/1) 22 days ago.

Verdict

A MOMENTOFMADNESS has been in fantastic form on both of his starts this season and bumped into a well handicapped horse in the shape of Vibrant Chords at Goodwood last month. There looks to be more improvement to come and he gets the vote over Dynamo Walt, a recent C&D winner, and Stepper Point, who has gone well here in the past.

Verdict

RURAL CELEBRATION was up against it in a listed race on her first outing since leaving David O'Meara at Nottingham on return but is well treated back in a handicap, and also looks to have plenty in her favour. The dangers are headed by Saved My Bacon, who was a close fourth over C&D 3 weeks ago, and Excellent George, who only just failed off this mark on his latest run on AW.

Lightly-raced winner. 16/1, tenth of 15 in handicap at Newbury (7f, good) 41 days ago.

Verdict

This looks an especially strong handicap on paper with progressive types looking to have plenty more to offer. Tricorn has won his last three starts for John Gosden and proved to be impressive at Newmarket's Craven meeting but he comes up against CITY OF JOY tonight, a recent handicap winner at Doncaster who looks to have a fair bit in hand off 89. Sultan Baybars is likely to improve having been gelded over the winter.

Verdict

TRICORN completed the hat-trick in the style of a smart colt in the making at Newmarket last time and shades the vote over City of Joy, Mandarin and Areen Heart, who all remain with potential, too.

Verdict

SPATIAL looked a filly of huge promise on her first couple of starts until she disappointed in the Fillies Mile behind Rhododendron at Newmarket and it seems highly notable that connections want to take advantage of her handicap mark of 96. Amabilis also showed plenty of ability last season until disappointing on her final start at Newmarket but should benefit from trying a mile, while Normandie Lady is respected on her Nottingham success last month.

Verdict

SPATIAL disappointed in the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket when last seen in October but she remains a smart prospect and is taken to defy top weight on her return. Amabilis has some solid 2-y-o form to her name and is next best.

Promising type. 9/1, second of 11 in maiden at Carlisle (6.9f, good) on debut 10 days ago, staying on well. Should improve.

Verdict

TOP MISSION has been hitting the frame since returning to the course this season, and despite letting down favourite backers both times, the Godolphin son of Dubawi looks primed to strike now with plenty of match practice under his belt and with cheekpieces applied. Buxted Dream is another who failed to justify favouritism last time but may be worth a second chance and looks the main danger, while Peach Melba should be much sharper following her narrow defeat at Carlisle.

Verdict

PEACH MELBA came 9 lengths clear of the third when going close to making a winning debut at Carlisle 10 days ago and has obvious claims of going one better. Buxted Dream remains on the up despite being turned over at odds-on at Lingfield, while the quirky Top Mission gets a go in headgear.

Unreliable sort. 5/1, won 10-runner handicap at this course (8f) 7 days ago, suited by strong pace. Carries penalty. Back up in trip.

Verdict

Simon Crisford has been shrewdly placing his horses to win lately and his course and distance winner CELEBRATION DAY could be the one to side with despite a further 2lb rise from the assessor and having to concede weight all round here. Cape Peninsular drops back in trip having won well over further at Wolverhampton last time, while Mikmak was much improved last time when second and can't be discounted.

Verdict

TOBACCO ROAD is useful at his best in this sphere and has been given a chance by the handicapper. He shaped better than the bare result at Chester 3 weeks ago and the drop back in trip could be a wise move given his free-going nature. Cape Peninsular was finally off the mark last time and is respected back in a handicap, while Mikmak and Celebration Day should remain competitive.

Ninth of 13 in handicap (50/1) at Kempton (12f) 57 days ago. Hooded for 1st time.

Verdict

It looks like the top two in the handicap could be the pair to concentrate on with MASTER DANCER fancied to just edge out King Olav at the finish. The selection was a beaten favourite last time at Chepstow on his first appearance following a break, and is entitled to improve for that comeback run and play a major role today. Chivers is an all-weather regular in contests over staying trips and can play a part in first-time blinkers.

Verdict

MASTER DANCER might have needed his return at Chepstow and remains one to be positive about at this level. The veteran King Olav wasn't disgraced on unfavourable terms dropped to claiming company at Lingfield last time and holds more pressing claims here.
