Verdict

DANCING SPEED sets the standard having finished a clear second at Nottingham last time out and that form was boosted when the winner was successful again at Goodwood last week. He is 3lb well in today and he should take plenty of beating. Recuerdame has not been disgraced in his last two starts and he merits consideration, while First Thought is another handicap newcomer to note.

Verdict

DANCING SPEED took a step forward when runner-up to a subsequent winner at Nottingham and holds leading claims of going one place better. First Thought is feared most from the red-hot Haggas yard.

Verdict

BUCKINGHAM has won both of his starts over this course and distance, the most recent of which coming in a competitive nursery off a mark of 76. He does have to give plenty of weight away today but he should not be underestimated. Arctic Spirit could prove to be the main threat at these weights, although Picture Poet and Stellar Comet should not be completely discounted.

Verdict

ROCKSHORE travelled better than most when sixth at Doncaster on debut and a big run looks on the cards with that experience under his belt. Arctic Spirit was a good third on nursery debut at Leicester and remains with potential, while Buckingham is another likely player despite top weight.

Verdict

The preference is for BROKEN SPEAR, who bolted up in a similar race at Thirsk last week. Despite having to carry a 6lb penalty today, he is still 4lb well in and his rider's valuable 7lb allowance should also help. Implicit has been a model of consistency so far in her career and the daughter of Kodiac has won her last two starts well. Cococabala and Showu both need to improve to win but they have minor claims.

Verdict

BROKEN SPEAR left previous efforts well behind when bolting up on nursery debut in this headgear at Thirsk last week and has obvious claims under a penalty. Showu was a good second on her handicap bow at Sandown and is feared most ahead of the other penalised winner Implicit.

Verdict

A very competitive contest that can go to the well handicapped BOOM THE GROOM, who bounced back to form when finishing third at Goodwood last week. The seven-year-old has a very good record on the all-weather and there is every chance that he can gain a deserved victory this evening. Island Of Life has been running well all year and she should be in the mix once again, while Bosham and Captain Lars also make the shortlist.

Verdict

ONLY SPOOFING takes on a handful of C&D specialists, notably Bosham and Verne Castle, but the return to 5f is bound to suit and he is selected to make the most of a good draw. Island of Life has been expensive to follow of late but she could be the chief threat.

Verdict

Purple Rock would have a big chance of winning this race based on his run here last week but he was also due to run at Haydock yesterday. If he were to skip this engagement then the nod would go to COVERHAM, who has already won three times this year. He met with trouble in running last time out and is only 2lb above his last winning mark. Buckland Beau and Pass The Cristal both warrant each-way consideration.

Verdict

PASS THE CRISTAL is back on his last winning mark, and the way he kept on over 7f last time suggests this return to 1m is the correct move. Purple Rock will be a big danger, and so too will King of Dreams.

Verdict

ESPRIT DE BAILEYS steps up in trip having overcome a 266-day layoff to make all on his debut for this stable at Yarmouth last time. The two-mile distance should be within the gelding's capabilities and he can play a leading part under a 6lb penalty. This is Fitzwilly's optimum distance and he arrives here in good form, while Final Choice wasn't far away over track and trip two starts ago and a first-time visor could eke out some improvement.

Verdict

ESPRIT DE BAILEYS landed a gamble under an aggressive ride on British debut at Yarmouth 10 days ago and the follow up is a distinct possibility under a penalty. Final Choice was better than the result last time and is feared most, ahead of Tynecastle Park.

Verdict

NAVARRA PRINCESS was disappointing when sent off favourite here last time but Don Cantillon's filly was in fine form before that, including finishing second at this distance from a 1lb higher mark and a repeat of that would give him leading claims here. Chloellie is at home on this surface and has run with credit from this rating the last twice, while Hilight has to be respected in first-time blinkers.

Verdict

The prospect of another steadily-run race is a concern for CHLOELLIE given how she is normally ridden, but the feeling is that she is capable of further success from this mark if things pan out for her. Navarra Princess was disappointing last time but she could easily bounce back.
