Verdict

SMUGGLERS TOP offered encouragement following a gelding operation which may have revived his fortunes when fourth at Chepstow last time and a chance is taken there is more to come here for Tom Dascombe. One For June is sure to be popular in the hands of champion jockey elect Silvestre De Sousa, while Alaska and Montague are others worthy of note.

Verdict

SMUGGLERS TOP showed a lot more back from a gelding operation when fourth at Chepstow last time and could be the way to go now dropped into a claimer. One For June is feared most ahead of Alaska.

Twice-raced maiden. Fourth of 6 in minor event (25/1) at Lingfield (5f, good to soft) when last seen. Off 103 days. Back up in trip. Hooded for 1st time.

Verdict

Ryan Moore teams up with William Haggas aboard York second PRETTY BABY who could be suited by the extra half a furlong she encounters here and can go one better than that debut effort on the Knavesmire. Angel's Whisper needs to bounce back having faltered at Beverley last time, however a reproduction of her debut performance should see her go close, while a chance is also given to the Qatar Racing filly Musical Theatre, who still holds plenty of potential.

Verdict

Hard to see past PRETTY BABY, who shaped well on debut at York and looks sure to improve upped in trip here with Ryan Moore on board. Havana Heart could be the main danger.

Verdict

MORLOCK found the step up to Group 3 level too much at this stage of his career when seventh to Elarqam in the Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket last month and the return to a novice event can provide the confidence boost required. Ready To Impress is bred to be decent and can put up a good challenge to the selection on his debut, while Willie John and Welsh Lord are two other well-bred newcomers to note.

Verdict

Many top yards represented in this warm-looking 2-y-o event, and WILLIE JOHN is chanced first-time up for William Haggas as his smart dam's first foal was a very impressive winner on debut for Godolphin. Godolphin are well represented with appealing newcomer Welsh Lord and Morlock, the latter back in grade after finishing down the field in the Tattersalls Stakes on the back of a successful debut.

Useful colt. 11¼ lengths last of 5 to Grey Britain in listed race at Newmarket (10f, good to soft, 11/2). Off 145 days. Likely there's still better to come but others have achieved more at present.

Verdict

BOYNTON showed a very good level of form as a two-year-old having won the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket last July but has clearly had his problems which has kept him off the track since Glorious Goodwood last year. The step up in trip on his return should prove ideal and he can return to winning ways. Victory Bond and Murad Khan look the most likely to put it up to the selection but both have questions to answer.

Verdict

Last year’s Superlative Stakes winner BOYNTON is taken to overcome a lengthy absence with success dropped in class here. Victory Bond was possibly unsuited by conditions when well held in Superior Mile at Haydock last time, and could easily bounce back, while Murad Khan would be dangerous if rediscovering his peak form.

Once-raced filly. Third of 12 in maiden (5/6) at Lingfield (10f, AW) on debut 16 days ago, slowly away. Should have a lot more to offer.

Verdict

PRETTY PASSE bumped into a smart winner when second over this trip at Lingfield last time and remains open to plenty more improvement on her second start over this trip. Footman was touched off by a head over track and trip when last sighted and could feasibly take a hand in first-time cheekpieces. There could also be a big run on the cards from Abaad, who was outpaced over 1m1f at Lingfield latest and could improve for this additional furlong.

Verdict

PRETTY PASSE is yet to run a bad race and just bumped into an above-average newcomer at Lingfield last month. She can open her account at the fifth attempt. Valley of Light, who finished third that day, should have a lot more to offer, while strong market support for Dansili filly Choose would have to be taken seriously.

50/1, eleventh of 14 in handicap at Brighton (7f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Easy to look elsewhere.

Verdict

KOHINOOR DIAMOND was a clear winner here last week and is well worth siding with once again despite the penalty, with the Excelebration filly looking like a progressive animal who could still be some way ahead of the assessor. Dawn Goddess wasn't far away last time and looks feasibly treated with Tom Queally taking over in the saddle, while course and distance winner Master Of Heaven should give his usual solid showing and holds each-way possibilities.

Verdict

The one that stands out is KOHINOOR DIAMOND, who showed much improved form to get off the mark making her handicap debut over C&D last week, and looks one that could stay ahead of the handicapper for quite a while. Master of Heaven and Tommy’s Secret can emerge as the chief threats.

Fourth of 5 in handicap at Brighton (11.9f, good to soft, 13/2) 31 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Still lightly-raced and may do better at some stage.

Verdict

THE JUGGLER was an easy seven-length winner over course and distance back in August and a 7lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to stop him from being successful once again tonight. Chilli Jam is another who has been successful over this track and trip in recent months and he should be in the mix despite having to carry top weight. California Cliffs and Captain Sedgwick are others to consider.

Verdict

CALIFORNIA CLIFFS returned to form when second at this C&D last month and is taken to go one better. The Juggler may be able to build on his recent win, while Chilli Jam should prove suited by dropping back to this trip.
