Visored for 1st time, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 100/1) 14 days ago, badly hampered. Up in trip. Makes polytrack debut.

Verdict

ERTIDAAD is turned out under a penalty after scoring over a mile here last time and is expected to remain competitive now granted this stiffer test. The King's Steed was beaten by under a length over the extended mile at Wolverhampton last time and is the one expected to put up most resistance, with this step up in trip expected to suit. The pick of the remainder may be Outlaw Torn, who has been eased 1lb for finishing fourth at Chelmsford.

Verdict

Hard to enthuse over many of these, but OUTLAW TORN has come back down in the weights and is capable in this grade. Ertidaad has to be feared as a last-time-out winner, while Master of Heaven can make his presence felt if he's on a going day.

Verdict

TRICK SHOT JENNY benefitted from the switch to handicap company when landing a 1m Newcastle nursery last time and may well have more to offer now upped in trip as she bids to defy a 3lb rise. Gembari rattled the crossbar at Wolverhampton when last sighted and should be thereabouts once more off 3lb higher this evening. There may also be a big run on the cards from Urban Soul now he is eased into 0-65 company.

Verdict

TRICK SHOT JENNY left her previous form well behind when making a winning handicap debut at Newcastle 2 weeks ago and should make another bold bid up 3 lb. Progressive Jazz has gone close on both his starts on the AW and is feared most.

Verdict

Dance Me has improved between runs and should be thereabouts if building on her recent Wolverhampton second. However, there is a good chance Charlie Appleby will have CROWN WALK ready to fire on debut as he has excelled with his juvenile newcomers this year and his representative here is related to a plethora of winners. It is unlikely we've seen the best of John Gosden's Briscola yet and she, too, could feasibly figure now reverting to 7f.

Verdict

Those with experience don't set the pulse racing, so CROWN WALK could easily be up to the job on debut for the Godolphin team sporting a hood. Cirrus Minor's opening run was promising and she is a big threat if casting aside a poor effort at Wolverhampton, while Dance Me has her limitations but can make her presence felt at this level.

Promising type. Second of 11 in maiden at Newcastle (8f, 3/1) 9 days ago. Should improve.

Verdict

ANGELINA D'OR is improving between runs and is expected to build on her Newcastle second over this trip earlier in the month and find the improvement needed to score. Escape The City is more exposed than the selection but ran close to her rating in a Wolverhampton handicap last time and should be thereabouts if doing so again. Paddy The Chef should be all the wiser for the experience gained on debut at Kempton and looks best of the rest.

Verdict

ANGELINA D'OR left her debut well behind when runner-up at Newcastle 9 days ago, beaten only by a useful prospect, and she looks the one to beat. Escape The City went close on her nursery debut at Wolverhampton 25 days ago and is the obvious threat.

Verdict

HUMAN NATURE was touched off by a nose over 7f here last time, getting worn down on the line, and it is possible he'll gain compensation for that defeat now cutting back in trip. Pearl Spectre, another who has been active over 7f lately, has the speed needed to give a good account now sprinting again, while both Bahamian Heights and Born To Finish have been running consistently well of late and cannot be left out of calculations either.

Verdict

BORN TO FINISH was probably a bit unlucky not to follow up his Kempton win over this C&D last week and has obvious claims of gaining compensation off the same mark. Bahamian Heights arrives in good form having won 2 of his last 3 starts and is feared most, ahead of Human Nature.

Creditable third of 12 in handicap (5/2) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 48 days ago, running on. Significantly back up in trip. Can give a good account despite being 2 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

STYLISH DANCER paid for attempting to make the running at Wolverhampton last time but she'd run a better race when stalking the pace and finishing runner-up over 2m at Lingfield previously. If she can take a lead off one of her rivals this evening then she may be able to break her duck at the sixth attempt. Fitzwilly has been eased 1lb for finishing third at Newbury in October and has place claims, likewise distance winner Katie Gale, who steps back up from 1m4f.

Verdict

RETRIEVE is rising 11 and ended his time for Carroll Gray out of sorts on turf, but the assessor has given him a major chance for a new yard on this surface, so he could be worth risking. Angel In The Snow and Stylish Dancer are the obvious alternatives.

Eleven runs since last win in 2016. 33/1, first run since leaving Johnny Farrelly when second of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 10 days ago. Well treated if she can back that up.

Verdict

PRINCE JAI stayed on well at the finish when going down under a length in second over 7f at Wolverhampton last time and may be able to go one better now stepping back up to a mile. Samphire Coast landed minor money off this mark over track and trip latest and is respected under conditions known to suit. Others worthy of consideration are three-year-old C&D winners Broughtons Knight and Pass The Cristal, both of whom are weighted to finish on the premises.

Verdict

The front-running PRINCE JAI is ideally drawn against the rail and might be up to notching another course win. Shamlan was a fine second on his first start back with former handler Kevin Frost and will be a threat if the widest stall doesn't prove too much of an inconvenience, while Samphire Coast can extend his run of good efforts.
