Twenty nine runs since last win in 2016. 33/1, 17 lengths last of 10 to Roy's Legacy in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 10 days ago.

Verdict

ROY'S LEGACY has steadily improved his form recently and was a winner at Wolverhampton on his latest start. Despite carrying a 6lb penalty here, he looks capable of defying it due to being in good heart at present. Barnsdale finished third at Wolverhampton on his last outing and rates a solid contender once again, while Popsilca could benefit for the application of a first-time visor having finished behind the selection last time.

Verdict

MIGHTY ZIP was behind Firesnake over 6f here recently but shaped as though a return to form was imminent, and that dropping back to this trip would be in his favour. A winner here off higher marks on 4 previous occasions, Mighty Zip is taken to get the better of his stablemate this time. Roy's Legacy looks vulnerable under a penalty and Barnsdale may be the main threat to Lisa Williamson's duo.

Verdict

FREEBE ROCKS has benefited from the switch to the all-weather since the beginning of the year and finally got off the mark when landing the odds at Kempton at the beginning of the month. A 4lb rise in the weights looks more than fair for Michael Bell's gelding and he can record his second success of the year. Greeneyedafghan looks capable of better now applied with first-time cheekpieces, while The Night King and Kachumba look best of the remainder.

Verdict

Easily the most appealing of these is FREEBE ROCKS, who has improved since being gelded and stuck to the task well when opening his account at Kempton 3 weeks ago. Neither the drop back to 7f nor the 4 lb rise he incurred for that are likely to prevent him from following up here. Vodka Pigeon is marginally preferred to The Night King for forecast purposes.

First run since leaving James Tate when good second of 8 in handicap (25/1) at Newcastle (6f) 22 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Merits respect.

Verdict

VERY HONEST had been knocking on the door on her last couple of starts and finally returned to winning form at Lingfield when getting the better of Born To Finish, who has won since at Kempton. Pulsating beat the selection two starts ago at Kempton but will need to bounce back having finished sixth (beaten three lengths) in the same race Born To Finish won five days ago, while Mythical Spirit outran his odds at Newcastle and could take a step forward here.

Verdict

VERY HONEST is, for the most part, true to her name and she battled on well when narrowly prevailing at Lingfield recently. That form has already received a couple of boosts and, up just 2 lb, Brett Johnson's charge is taken to strike again. Pulsating got the better of Very Honest at Kempton at the beginning of the month, but she was below par there last time and Mythical Spirit is feared most.

Dream Ahead filly. Dam ran once out of 1¼m winner Magdalene. Visored on debut and would need to be pretty useful to lower the colours of Danzan.

Verdict

It is very hard to oppose DANZAN, who was an above-average juvenile last year and was last seen winning a similar race to this over C&D late last month. Tilghman cost 72,000gns as a yearling and he is a half-brother to Make Time, who is currently rated 107 and was Group-placed last season. Dream For Life is another newcomer to note, while Directory needs to improve on his French form to be winning today.

Verdict

While he's likely to go off at a prohibitive price, it's very difficult to oppose DANZAN. The Lawman colt landed a similar C&D event with a good deal of authority last time and will have bigger fish to fry than this in the months ahead. Given that French import Directory is hard to assess, newcomers Tilghman and Dream For Life may well fill the places.

Verdict

SHAMROKH has impressively rattled off a course double and although put up 5lb from last time, he might be able to strike again whilst the iron is hot. There are plenty of dangers, however, with Thaqaffa and Maestro Mac topping the list. Both also arrive in winning form and seem sure to run well, while Nonios and Captain Pugwash add further spice to the event.

Verdict

Having all produced personal best performances last time out, MAESTRO MAC, Shamrokh and Thaqaffa are expected to come to the fore in this competitive-looking heat. Preference is for the first-named, who made it 3-5 for this yard when leading from pillar to post at Wolverhampton last month and may again get things his own way out in front.

Verdict

The penny has dropped with SURREY BLAZE in recent weeks and he looks to be progressing nicely for Joseph Tuite and connections. A 7lb rise doesn't look too harsh given the manner of his latest win and the hat-trick can be completed here under Adam Kirby. Father Ailbe is due to go up further in the future and has a chance here after winning at Lingfield five days ago, while Dark Freedom looks best of the remainder.

Verdict

The hat-trick beckons for SURREY BLAZE, who made it 2-2 in handicap company/on the AW when scoring in decisive fashion over C&D last month. He's now 7 lb higher in a more competitive race, but there's almost certainly more to come. Father Ailbe has to be feared following his recent victory at Lingfield, for all that dropping back in trip may not be ideal, and Hollywood Dream makes each-way appeal.

Tenth of 14 in handicap (50/1) at Lingfield (10f, AW) 8 days ago. Must improve.

Verdict

WIN LOSE DRAW landed the gamble at this venue a week ago and a 6lb rise for that performance doesn't look too harsh, especially with handy 5lb claimer Kevin Lundie coming in to offset the hike in the weights. The six-year-old goes well at this venue and could have too much for Tellovoi, who should be suited by this extra furlong, and Palawan, who went close in second at Kempton when last seen just three days ago.

Verdict

WIN LOSE DRAW virtually refused to race at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start, but he was far more tractable when scoring over 7f here 3 days later. With the step back up to a mile unlikely to pose a problem, the 6-y-o is taken to strike again. Tellovoi remains on a workable mark and should be on the premises, while Passing Star and Palawan are others to consider.
