Winless in 5 starts in bumpers, though listed second at Sandown was a useful effort and he overcame the odd mistake when making a successful hurdles bow at Chepstow 13 days ago. Open to progress.

Verdict

EL BANDIT won the Grade 2 Persian War Novices' Hurdle at Chepstow a couple of weeks ago in impressive fashion and that appears to be rock solid form in the context of this race. The second had finished third in the Fred Winter back in March and the third was a highly-rated Flat recruit. Colin's Sister won well at the same venue the day before and could prove to be the main danger with her sex allowance. Templeross has looked to be above-average so far in his short career and is another to note, while neither Black Warrior and Pickamix cannot be completely discounted.

Verdict

EL BANDIT has a similar chance to Colin's Sister and Black Warrior at the weights, but he's a thoroughly-professional and likeable type, and that will continue to stand him in very good stead. All 5 tasted success last-time out, so it's hard to rule any out with confidence.

Verdict

There are several here who like to force the pace, namely Marracudja, Aristo Du Plessis, Baron Alco and Pinkie Brown, so it could be best focusing on the closers. Presenting Arms ran a blinder in Listed company at Market Rasen and should give another good account, but the two to focus on might well be Irish raiders Ridestan and NEVERUSHACON. There was just a nose splitting the pair in Grade 3 company at Gowran earlier this month, with the former emerging on top, but Jessica Harrington's charge is 3lb better off at these weights and is fancied to reverse placings. Harrington, who saddled the winner of this race 12 months ago, also has a back-up plan in Gambling Girl.

Verdict

MARRACUDJA had only 2 rivals to beat but he was impressive nonetheless when successful at Newton Abbot recently. He undoubtedly rates the type to do better and earns the vote, though Aristo du Plessis, who was a real success story over hurdles last term, and Presenting Arms are just 2 who should give him something to think about.

Not the easiest to catch right but has won twice over 21f at Newton Abbot this term. Looked set to go in again at Southwell last month, but found little for pressure and 4 lb out of the weights here.

Verdict

Washed Ashore stayed on well to land a 2m novices' hurdle at Worcester last time out and promises to be suited by this longer trip now sent handicapping. Of more interest, however, is BALLINURE, who overcame some trouble in running when scoring over the extended 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time and may be capable of defying a 5lb rise. Midnight Shot appears a danger to all after being ridden aggressively to victory at Fontwell, while Arctic Gold is worth a market check now returning from a break for an in-form stable.

Verdict

VALHALLA looked a handicapper to keep on the right side this term after a smooth victory at Exeter in April and his reappearance third at Newton Abbot doesn't alter that view. Washed Ashore has been assessed on his winning 2m form, but could find another jolt of improvement over this trip, while My Wigwam Or Yours returns from a lengthy break on a very tempting mark.

Quickly made it 2 wins from first 3 starts over fences earlier this term, and done little wrong in defeat since, still going well when unseating at Gowran 3 weeks ago. Likely to give it her best again

Verdict

A trio of Irish raiders look the ones to focus on here. 2014 Triumph Hurdle hero TIGER ROLL won the Munster National by seven lengths earlier in the month and gets the vote on the back of that impressive performance. He jumped well at Limerick and has amassed plenty of chasing experience in novice terms. Full Cry promises to be suited by this stiffer test and, along with taking 3m Clonmel winner Heron Heights, gives Henry De Bromhead a strong hand.

Verdict

TIGER ROLL stepped up plenty on his previous chase exploits when running out a comfortable winner of the Munster National recently, and he gets the nod in the hope he's in the same form. Heron Heights is going the right way and should be thereabouts, whilst Cottersrock shouldn't be underestimated either.

Looked a good prospect when winning Kelso bumper by 14 lengths in May. He's in top hands and is one to look forward to in novice hurdles this year.

Verdict

Casper King brings the most solid hurdling form to the table but appears to be not the most trustworthy having hung left when runner-up behind Geordie Des Champs at Chepstow earlier in the month. Nicky Henderson fields an interesting pair in Khezerabad, who will appreciate this sound surface, and Thomas Campbell, an impressive winner of a bumper at Kelso in May, but preference goes to GARO DE JUILLEY. The son of Ungaro won four on the Flat in France, achieving a fairly decent level, and makes his debut for Paul Nicholls team who has been fairly bullish about him as a hurdling prospect. Accord showed some ability on hurdling debut behind Peter The Mayo Man at Warwick and is best of the remainder.

Verdict

KHEZERABAD displayed plenty of ability on hurdles debut last season and is best forgiven his last start when out of his depth in a Grade 1 at Aintree. He is expected to take advantage of this drop in class on return and open his account over hurdles, possibly at the main expense of Casper King, though Garo de Juilley and Ckalco des Loges are a couple of interesting hurdling debutants.
