Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at this course (7.1f, good) 28 days ago.

Verdict

LADY ALAVESA took a step in the right direction when second over this trip at Chelmsford last time and seemingly just didn't stay when disappointing over 1m2f at Salisbury previously. She's now sporting first-time cheekpieces and is narrowly preferred to Aqua Libre, who is 5lb higher than when scoring over this trip on firm ground at Bath in May. Any money for Archie Watson's handicap debutant Sary Arqa would be notable on her stable bow.

Verdict

A chance AQUA LIBRE will be able to dominate in this small field and she gets the nod but strong market support for Sary Arqa on her stable/handicap debut would put a slightly different slant on things.

3-time C&D winner. Tenth of 12 in handicap (33/1) at Lingfield (11.6f, good to firm) 20 days ago, slowly away. Won this race in 2015 but out of sorts at present.

Verdict

AIR OF YORK returned to winning ways over 7f here last time and this step up in trip could help him offset his penalty. Nazzaa is still 6lb higher than when scoring over 1m2f at Nottingham last summer but, in a contest lacking depth, he's probably the main danger to the selection anyway. Peak Storm is a C&D winner but, like Alqalsar and Living Leader, his recent form tempers any enthusiasm for his chances tonight.

Verdict

NAZZAA and Air of York look the pair to focus on, with the former narrowly preferred taking a fair drop in class.

Twice-raced maiden. 50/1, last of 8 in minor event at Bath (5.7f, firm) 16 days ago, lost all chance at start.

Verdict

STREET PARADE built on his debut second over this trip at Yarmouth with a breakthrough 5f success at Lingfield last time and rates the one to beat, despite being burdened with a penalty this evening. So Hi Speed has place claims on his Chelmsford second in May but is now fitted with first-time cheekpieces in a bid to bounce back from a lacklustre performance at Longchamp. One Kiss is entitled to build on her debut fifth at Windsor and take closer order.

Verdict

STREET PARADE opened his account in good style at Lingfield and can go in again before having his sights raised. So Hi Speed has shown enough to suggest he can win a race and looks the big danger.

C&D winner on penultimate start and respectable second at Leicester (5f, good to firm) since. Blinkers back on. Should be in the mix again.

Verdict

BIG LACHIE has been knocking hard on the door, beaten a head on his last two outings at Brighton and Hamilton. He's competing off the same mark as in Scotland 11 days ago and it would come as no surprise to see him notch a deserved success while officially 3lb well-in. David's Beauty followed up his narrow C&D victory with a strong display in second at Leicester and is the one expected to put up most resistance. Edged Out, a triple course winner, is no forlorn hope either.

Verdict

EDGED OUT has acquitted herself well in stronger contests this term and is now on a handy mark. She is taken to resume winning ways here. Big Lachie has been in fine heart and looks the obvious danger with David's Beauty next best.

One win from 24 Flat runs. Winner at Yarmouth in June. 6/1, creditable second of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (5.2f, firm) 14 days ago. Patchy profile but will go close with a repeat.

Verdict

GOLD HUNTER has winning C&D form in the book off this mark and also won off 2lb higher on the all-weather in September. He's seemingly nicely treated at present and hinted his turn was fast approaching when landing the silver medal at Pontefract last time. Mother of Dragons steps up from 5f after finishing second at Yarmouth and can fight it out with Newmarket grade dropper Isstoora for the minor money.

Verdict

GOLD HUNTER bounced back to form when runner-up at Pontefract 11 days ago, and a reproduction of that effort could well be good enough here. Isstoora and Mother of Dragons head the dangers, acknowledging their profiles aren’t the most convincing.

Verdict

Having made all to win over the extended 6f at Brighton on his penultimate outing, STARBOY got away with the drop back to the extended 5f when scraping home by a neck at the same venue last time. On the face of it, he may be vulnerable under a double penalty, though it is hoped that immediate improvement will be forthcoming, in his current mood, now he steps back up in distance. Recent Thirsk second Rastacap is feared most, though a big run from Glamorous Dream is also expected, even though she's 8lb higher than when winning at Salisbury last month.

Verdict

STARBOY is at the top of his game at present and is chasing a hat-trick after comfortable victories at Brighton earlier this month. He should take the beating here. Rastacap returned to form last time and looks the obvious danger.

Verdict

KATH'S LEGACY was a beaten favourite over the extended 1m3f at Windsor last time when third, but now up in trip and with cheekpieces tried, she can take advantage of the same mark to land this. Earthly has made the podium on both outings since being gelded and the four-year-old must be considered. Camakasi wasn't beaten far from today's mark when third at Leicester last month and is another who warrants respect, as does Pour L'Amour.

Verdict

KATH'S LEGACY should have a race in her off this sort of mark and gets the nod in first-time cheekpieces. Earthly and Camakasi arrive in form and could be the pair to give Richard Hughes' filly most to do.
