Verdict

SFUMATO ran well behind the in-form Dapper Man (touched off at Pontefract on Monday) at Hamilton and with a first-time visor replacing the cheekpieces worn that day, he could well improve and is fancied to go close off 2lb lower. Winklemann is entitled to improve for his comeback third at Windsor and warrants plenty of respect with talented apprentice Rossa Ryan coming in for the ride, while past C&D scorer Indian Affair cannot be ruled out either.

Verdict

Scottish-raider SFUMATO took a step back in the right direction when third at Hamilton last time and might be worth siding with now dropping into a 0-70 for the first time with the return to 6f likely to be in his favour. Gilmer is another whose mark has slipped and is of some interest on his first run for Stef Keniry, particularly if the betting speaks for him. Beau Mistral is also considered.

Verdict

Richard Hannon, junior and senior, have a cracking record in this race (winning five of the last 10 renewals) and it may to side with the former's once-raced BALATA BAY. He shaped as if the experience would do him plenty of good when sixth on debut at Wolverhampton and don't be surprised if he takes a big leap forward. Axel Jacklin and Steeve have some solid form in the book and both are respected, while Dutch Treat might be worth a second look in the betting market ahead of her introduction for a powerful team.

Verdict

AXEL JACKLIN has a clear-cut chance on the pick of his form but needs to put 2 lesser efforts behind him. He's still the most likely winner however, though Dutch Treat is an interesting newcomer, and Balata Bay should improve from his debut run.

Verdict

DASHING POET has clearly taken a step back in the right direction having won on her return to action at Haydock and the daughter of Poet's Voice can handle a 4lb rise in the weights. Love And Be Loved struggled on her return at Ascot behind Mountain Angel but was progressive last season and may have more to come. Accomplice looks best of the remainder on her third at Bath last time out.

Verdict

DASHING POET proved better than ever when making a successful return to action at Haydock last month and a 4 lb rise may not prevent her following up. Former course scorer Love And Be Loved racked up a hat-trick to end 2017 and will surely find this easier than the big-field Ascot handicap she contested on her reappearance, while Accomplice has reached the frame on her last 2 starts.

Verdict

HARRY BEAU bounced back to form with a good performance at Brighton to beat Nutini, who reopposes here, and he is more than capable of defying the 6lb penalty he received for that success. The aforementioned Nutini is respected meeting the selection on better terms than last time, while Kinglami has been in good heart recently and completes the shortlist.

Verdict

HARRY BEAU had 3 lengths to spare over the reopposing Nutini at Brighton last week and might be capable of defying a penalty back at the scene of his win last month. Kinglami is another who arrives in good form and also makes the shortlist.

Verdict

QUANTUM DOT made all when striking over C&D earlier in the month and is expected to remain competitive following a 7lb rise in the ratings. David's Beauty finished third behind the selection that day and could take closer order now re opposing on 8lb better terms. Others worthy of consideration are recent Bath third Jaganory, who is proven over track and trip, and Awesome Allan, who could step up on his last effort at Lingfield now eased in grade.

Verdict

SWENDAB has been quiet of late following a purple patch on the AW to end 2017, but he's back on a good mark and is fully effective over this C&D, so he gets the verdict. Quantum Dot and Awesome Allan are a couple of obvious threats.

Verdict

QUEEN OF CONNAUGHT makes some appeal on her distance victory at Wolverhampton and can be excused her subsequent defeat when she stepped up into Listed company at Lingfield. Outlane and Tolkyn are both improving between runs and are considered the main threats to the selection. The pick of the remainder may be Tomorrow's Angel, who could feasibly leave behind her debut spin at Chelmsford now she has the benefit of a run behind her.

Verdict

QUEEN OF CONNAUGHT never really threatened in the listed Oaks Trial at Lingfield a month ago, but she looks a thorough stayer and this is a drop in class, so she's the one to beat. Tolkyn, Outlane and Here's Alice are all promising, though.

Verdict

BID ADIEU finished runner-up over 1m4f here last time and, having been keen that day, there could be improvement forthcoming now he drops back in trip. Maroc has place claims if building on his Newbury second last time and has to enter calculations, while Saxo Jack appears on a fair mark now returning to the level and is also worth a market check having recently been hurdling.

Verdict

BID ADIEU posted another solid effort when runner-up in a course handicap 3 weeks ago and this could be a good opportunity for him from the same mark. Saxo Jack has the ability to win a race like this if he's in the mood, with Vincent's Forever another to consider.
