Modest maiden on the Flat, bred to make a hurdler and showed a bit on her debut in this sphere at Market Rasen in December. Looked set to run to a similar level prior to falling at Doncaster since.

Verdict

COPPER KAY was a highly thought of bumper horse who had flattered to deceive over hurdles earlier this season. However, she went down on her shield when second in a valuable Grade 2 novice event for the females at Newbury and should be difficult to pass now on the back of that. Swatow put in a much improved performance on her second start for Emma Lavelle at Southwell last month and can be the one to follow the selection home, while Athy River has plenty of racecourse experience and that can help her be the next best.

Verdict

COPPER KAY ran her best race to date over hurdles when runner-up in a Newbury handicap last month, and despite conceding weight all round back in novice company, she gets the nod to add to her hurdles tally. Swatow, who shaped well herself at Southwell, is fancied to pose the chief threat.

Doesn't have a great deal of solid form but shaped well in 2m Chepstow handicap hurdle in November. Showed aptitude for chasing before seeming to go amiss at Plumpton on yard debut recently.

Verdict

Ian Williams' Rocknrollrambo could be hard to pass in search of a hat-trick of victories, however, he has more on his plate now with a further 7lb rise. It is interesting that HOW'S VIENNA skipped an engagement at Stratford on Saturday to come here and David Dennis's seven-year-old can go close to backing up his Wincanton victory in the hands of Sam Twiston-Davies, despite the 9lb hike from the assessor. Culm Counsellor recorded a pair of likeable wins on good ground, before blotting his copy book last time and has a chance if that run can be forgiven.

Verdict

ROCKNROLLRAMBO has looked a much-improved model over fences fitted with cheekpieces of late, scoring with more authority than the narrow margin suggests at Ffos Las latest. He gets the nod to complete the hat-trick under a penalty, with How's Vienna and Charlie Mon next best.

Verdict

DOLOS was well fancied for the Fred Winter at the Festival when failing to figure, and let down supporters when trying to make amends at Ascot on his latest start, but this should be a much easier opportunity to return to the winner's enclosure and Paul Nicholls' juvenile can make amends. Gask Ridge represents Christian Williams' first Chepstow runner and he can give his former Ditcheat boss most to think about, with The Groove the next best of this quartet.

Verdict

This should be straightforward for DOLOS on these very advantageous terms, with Cup of Ambition the tentative forecast choice.

Winner of handicap chases at Ludlow and Perth last spring. Absent since misfiring at Worcester in July, but goes well fresh, trip/ground ideal and this mark should be within reach.

Verdict

Venetia Williams is always worth a second look at this South Wales venue and her Cold March must enter calculations. However, he struggled at the Cheltenham last time and a chance may be worth taking on the tough and durable ULCK DU LIN, who is back down to his last winning mark and Festival-winning amateur pilot Bryony Frost takes a further 7lb off the back of the experienced Paul Nicholls campaigner. Red Spinner is also respected in the first time cheekpieces and with Sam Twiston-Davies is an eye-catching jockey booking, he is entitled to play a part in the finish.

Verdict

INK MASTER proved that he goes well fresh when making a winning seasonal reappearance last term, and he looked better than ever at this time of the year in 2016 when scoring at Perth and Ludlow. In receipt of weight from his 4 rivals, Philip Hobbs's charge gets the nod. Cold March struggled at Cheltenham last month but his sights are lowered now and he is feared most ahead of Purple 'N Gold.

Better known as a handicap chaser and has suffered 2 heavy defeats this term.

Verdict

Ghost River has become disappointing for Peter Bowen and is now 0-9 over jumps, while Wizards Bridge failed to build on his earlier Fontwell victory when pulled up at the same venue a month ago. Clondaw Shane made a handicap debut that wasn't devoid of promise at Huntingdon last time out and should appreciate this better ground, although CELESTIAL MAGIC was a battling winner at Towcester last time and the consistent five-year-old could have too much for his rivals once more, despite a 3lb rise.

Verdict

CELESTIAL MAGIC contributed to his yard's recent purple patch at Towcester last month, and there's a good chance that he will improve for this step up in trip, so he could be the answer. Magic Dancer is very capable from this sort of mark but his resolve is open to question, so the returning Vendredi Trois is feared most.

Has failed to complete on 4 of his last 5 starts and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Verdict

Sykes deserves respect as a former course and distance winner but his jumping has been erratic the last twice and he arrives with risks attached at present. The handicapper looks to be in charge of Pawn Star and it would be a surprise to see him land the odds off his current mark, and that could tee this contest up perfectly for MINELLACELEBRATION, who probably needed the run last time out when facing three talented novice chasers and a drop back to handicap company should see him in a better light.

Verdict

WADSWICK COURT failed to fire at Ffos Las but that run should've blown away the cobwebs given that it was his first start for 5 months and, just 3 lb higher compared to when scoring in good style at Perth in August, he could be the answer. While Sykes has to be feared back at the scene of his last 2 victories, Minellacelebration rates the main danger.

Wouldn't be any sort of threat based on what he's showed both starts to date.

Verdict

David Pipe is 2-9 with his bumper runners at this venue in recent years so Prospera Pascha deserves respect, while it would be no surprise to see Kalarika have come on plenty from here Newbury fourth in March. Oscar Star is related to plenty of winners but MAJESTIC MOLL was very unlucky not to open her account at Huntingdon earlier this year and should be capable of landing one of these before going over hurdles for Emma Lavelle.

Verdict

OSCAR STAR offered enough promise on debut to suggest he can improve past the slightly more experienced Majestic Moll in a race that the pair could dominate. Kalarika, like the selection, caught the eye first time out, so she's well worth considering, too.
