Modest maiden on Flat, best effort at 1¼m, looked hard ride again last time. Sold from Amy Murphy £3,300 in August and likely outsider now hurdling.

Verdict

Point winner MOUNT RUSHMOORE was beaten by under a length in a novice hurdle at Exeter last month and is expected to take closer order with the benefit of that initial experience now behind him. Champagne Champ kept on at the same pace from the last when third at Wincanton last time and is a potential improver now upped in trip, while 130-rated Paul Nicholls representative Blu Cavalier is also expected to be thereabouts on these terms.

Verdict

MOUNT RUSHMOORE was seemingly caught out by greenness when spoiling a winning chance on hurdling debut at Exeter recently, hanging badly left but ultimately keeping on for second. He ought to be that bit wiser now and can go one place better. Blu Cavalier and Champagne Champ are fancied to give him most to do.

Verdict

ROLLING DYLAN was touched off by a nose in a handicap chase over a similar trip at Taunton in January and should go close if running to a similar level of form this afternoon. Flintham receives 6lb from the selection and is worth monitoring in the betting on his first start since undergoing wind surgery. Robin Of Locksley, having his second start for Sophie Leech, needs to step up on his last run at Cheltenham in order to figure.

Verdict

A potential match between FLINTHAM and Rolling Dylan. Both have unconvincing profiles at the moment but Flintham should get the run of the race and is in receipt of 6 lb.

Hasn't looked an easy ride, but exaggerated waiting tactics did the trick when springing a surprise in novice company at Worcester in November. In good hands and may do better, but mark demands it.

Verdict

APPLESANDPIERRES is 4lb higher than when striking over the extended 2m3f at Wetherby in April and hinted his winning turn was fast approaching when beaten by under a length in second over 2m4f at Uttoxeter last time. Diable De Sivola was still in contention when falling two out at Newbury and is the one expected to put up most resistance. The pick of the remainder may be Zeroeshadesofgrey, who merits a market check on his first start since undergoing wind surgery.

Verdict

MOABIT is well handicapped on his 2016 hurdles form, and with a more experienced rider taking over, he is expected to step up markedly on December's return to this sphere. Diable de Sivola and Pointed And Sharp head the opposition.

Novice/handicap winner last spring and in decent form in handicaps of late, albeit she doesn't appear to have much margin for error off this mark.

Verdict

Paul Nicholls' runs two here and with Ptit Zig having to carry top weight, it could be worth chancing his other runner, CONNETABLE. Bryony Frost's 3lb claim has been used to great effect this season and she has a great chance here for another Saturday winner. Her mount has been going well lately, with recent impressive efforts at Musselburgh and Kempton amongst the best form on offer, and a mark of 136 looks more than workable. The six-year-old can account for Coeur Blimey, who was sixth in the Lanzarote and fourth in the Betfair Hurdle, and Sainte Ladylime, who was second in a Grade 2 to the classy La Bague Au Roi last time out.

Verdict

BOOK OF GOLD has gradually gone the right way and is selected in the hope that first-time cheekpieces give him that extra edge. Connetable arrives on the back of a series of good efforts, while Coueur Blimey should also figure if seeing it out over the longer distance.

Verdict

Eastlake has had a wind operation but is likely to be using this to prepare for bigger targets in the spring, while Baby King rates as an intriguing contender after his second in the Scottish Champion Chase at Musselburgh earlier this month. OVERTOWN EXPRESS was far from disgraced in a race that didn't suit at Kempton last time out behind some smart types and looks ideally suited by this drop in distance and slightly bigger field. He could be the one to side with at the likely prices.

Verdict

BABY KING underwent a breathing operation following his Newbury flop and returned to form when second at Musselburgh last time. He should remain competitive after a small rise in the weights. Overtown Express had excuses last time and his mark remains a workable one, while Tornado In Milan would be dangerous if at the top of his game.

Maiden but appears to be working his way back to form, showing a bit more at Towcester (3m) last time.

Verdict

Difficult to be too confident about any of these, but LITTLE JIMMY is just 1lb higher than when runner-up at Southwell last time and looks to have every chance returning to a venue where he has won in the past. Beallandendall posted a much improved effort at Ludlow when last sighted and, from a 2lb lower mark, he should give another good account, while Finnegan's Garden also merits consideration for Zoe Davison and Tommy Dowling.

Verdict

Hardly any safe propositions but LITTLE JIMMY is a previous winner of this race and returned to form when second at Southwell last time. A big run could on the cards. Jaunty Thor needs to jump better but should be up to winning in this sphere, while Modeligo took this last year and could be ready to stage a revival.
