Verdict

Lady Willpower sets the standard with an official rating of 77 but she has already had a few chances and it will be disappointing if something less exposed does not improve past her. One who could do that is AL ASEF, who was only a couple of lengths behind a subsequent Listed winner on debut and that form gives him a big chance. Hidden Affair is another who is taken to improve for his first racecourse experience but has not been seen in 105 days which is an obvious concern. Ralph Beckett hand a couple of well-backed juvenile winners earlier in the week and so any market support for Azpeitia would have to be noted. Other newcomers to consider are Raid and Yajooll.

Verdict

AL ASEF offered plenty to work on when third of 11 in minor company at Nottingham a month ago, and with the winner advertising the form since, he looks up to taking a maiden. Raid and Yajooll are a couple of likely-looking newcomers with six-figure price tags to match so warrant respect.

Foaled April 19. €100,000 yearling, Kodiac half-sister to several winners, including very smart winner up to 1¼m Lahaleeb. Some promise to glean from Redcar debut fifth and another likely improver.

Verdict

Big Brave Bob and Tallow both showed plenty of promise on their respective debuts and they should be improved for that experience. That said, the preference is for GILDED HOUR, who was only caught late on when finishing second at Kempton last month and she should be sharper for that run. The British Lion, a half-brother to The Last Lion, and Monadee are the pick of the newcomers.

Verdict

GILDED HOUR did everything right bar win on debut at Kempton last month, only succumbing late on having shown a good turn of foot to get to the front over 1f out. Very much the type to improve, she can make it second time lucky. Newcomers Monadee and The British Lion are worth monitoring in the betting for clues though, while Big Brave Bob is also expected to improve for his debut effort.

Has held form well this season, deservedly back on the scoresheet at Carlisle (7f) in August and done little wrong in 3 subsequent starts. However, this demands a career-best.

Verdict

Richard Fahey holds a strong hand here with a trio of runners, Lady In Question, Khelman and Luis Vaz De Torres who all require attention at a track the handler often has success at. Easy Victory could have too much class for her rivals if returning from an absence in the same heart that saw her contest some warm HQ races well enough as a juvenile, while Pastime has hit the frame with regularity and is sure to be on the premises once again. Musselburgh scorer What's The Story is interesting following a break, however, preference is for the Scott Dixon pair with the in-form BOOTS AND SPURS narrowly preferred to Sans Souci Bay, who has the assistance of leading apprentice Hollie Doyle.

Verdict

WHAT'S THE STORY hasn't been seen out since landing a Musselburgh maiden in April, but he was returning from a 9-month break that day so it would seem safe to assume that he goes well fresh. On a potentially lenient mark for this handicap debut, the Harbour Watch colt makes plenty of appeal. Hajjam should be on the premises once again, while Fingal's Cave and Pastime are others to consider.

Regained the winning thread on second start for this yard when getting on top close home over this trip at Leopardstown a fortnight ago. However, this is tougher and he's 2 lb 'wrong' at the weights.

Verdict

A competitive handicap on paper but top-weight SPECULATIVE BID gets the vote. The son of Excellent Art has performed with credit on both his starts this year at Ascot having returned from over two years off the track. The drop back down to 7f will benefit along with a 3lb drop in the weights. Muntadab and Shady McCoy are two recent winners who both warrant plenty of respect with conditions in their favour, while Bertiewhittle has solid place credentials despite his win record not being the greatest.

Verdict

RIGHT TOUCH failed to get to grips with Muntadab at Musselburgh last month, but that represented a step firmly back in the right direction and he is taken to reverse the placings with that rival on 3 lb better terms. Muntadab hasn't finished out of the first two in four previous visits to Town Moor and should put up another bold show, while Speculative Bid is also high on the shortlist.

Notched fourth victory of the campaign at Redcar recently, but that was in a low-grade handicap and she's flying too high on this occasion.

Verdict

DREAM OF DREAMS is having only his fourth start for Sir Michael Stoute and arrives here fresher than most after a light campaign. He took a keen hold when beaten just under two lengths into fifth in a Listed heat at Newbury last time but the potentially stronger pace over this shorter trip could assist him. One of his best runs for former handler Kevin Ryan was his second to Sir Dancealot in last year's Rockingham (with Perfect Angel third), and David Elsworth's charge has strong claims here too after a recent confidence-boosting victory at the track. Danzeno has the ability to make his presence felt in this grade, while Teruntum Star and Sainted make some each-way appeal if they can build on their solid, recent handicap form.

Verdict

With the drop back to 6f unlikely to be an issue, SIR DANCEALOT looks the one to be on. He reproduced something akin to his smart 2-y-o form when striking here 2 weeks ago and is likely to be seen in an even better light in what should be a strongly-run affair. Danzeno and Dream of Dreams merit respect, but bigger threats may be posed by in-form handicappers Flying Pursuit and Teruntum Star.

Proved better than ever when opening her account for the year in Newmarket handicap 44 days ago but that was only a 3-runner affair and will find this a lot more competitive up in class.
