Fifteen-race maiden under Rules and is likely to come up short once again from 11 lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

The consistent LAKE CHAPALA hasn't been outside of the first two in his last four starts (winning two of them) and the eight-year-old looks sure to be thereabouts once more. He stayed on well down the home straight at Leicester earlier this month and has only gone up 1lb for that close effort. Many of these have something to find but perhaps first-time cheekpieces can spark improvement from Akula, while Friendship Bay will have needed the run last time and could do much better now.

Verdict

LAKE CHAPALA has been in good form over fences and hurdles in recent outings and has been found another good opportunity. Akula and Edward Elgar may give him most to think about.

Pretty useful French hurdle winner who wasn't far off her best when fifth in Kempton handicap over Christmas on just third start for this yard. Placed over fences in France and gets plenty of weight.

Verdict

A more competitive contest than last year when a 1/20 shot cosily landed the spoils for Dan Skelton and this looks like a tricky puzzle to solve. Zeroeshadesofgrey may appreciate a return to the larger obstacles after a disappointing effort over hurdles at Cheltenham last month, while Mr Mix should appreciate this slightly better ground after pulling up in the mud at Sandown a fortnight ago. OMESSA HAS improved markedly on her second start of the season to finish fifth in a competitive event at Kempton in December and she looks built for chasing. In receipt of a mares' and weight-for-age allowance, she rates as the one to beat.

Verdict

OMESSA HAS gets plenty of weight from her rivals returned to chasing so this looks a good chance for her to get off the mark for current connections. Mr Mix was the best of these over hurdles so has to respected on chase debut.

Verdict

Stowaway Magic was impressive when landing the spoils at Doncaster last month and he looks to be a decent chaser in the making, though this is a hot race and giving in receipt of 10lb to a bunch of five-year-old's might not prove easy. Cash Again has been disappointing this season but probably isn't one to fully give up on just yet, but the profile of CKALCO DES LOGES is interesting and team Skelton have been in much better form in recent days. The son of Balko should appreciate this test and is worth taking a chance on to resume his progress.

Verdict

STOWAWAY MAGIC made it 2 wins from 3 starts over hurdles in effortless fashion at Doncaster last month and looks up to giving away 10 lb to all of his rivals. Cash Again has the potential to do much better given his bumper form so is feared most on his return from a 3-month break.

Lightly-raced hurdler who shaped well on chase debut (ex-pointer) at Doncaster last month, most unlucky to bump into a well-handicapped winner. Big player off the same mark.

Verdict

Nicky Henderson can certainly ready one after an absence and the master handler will need to have used all of his experience to ready A Tail Of Intrigue after a 714-day absence. He probably requires a market check but could struggle to get the better of RAKTIMAN. The selection returned to form when second at Sedgefield last month over this trip and the 10-year-old has been found a decent opening by Sam England. Saffron Wells and Glengra are others to note.

Verdict

GLENGRA was most unlucky to bump into one well ahead of his mark at Doncaster on chase debut last month, shaping with plenty of promise (ex-pointer), and he holds strong claims off the same mark. A Tail of Intrigue is an interesting contender starting out for Nicky Henderson and is one to note after an absence off a potentially lenient mark.

Still looking for first success under Rules after 12 attempts and didn't seem suited by this sort of trip when pulled up at Hexham last time.

Verdict

PETITE POWER has won over hurdles and fences on his last three outings and, successful over the larger obstacles at Huntingdon last time, he makes strong appeal running off the same mark over timber here. Barney From Tyanee attracted support when second at Lingfield last time and is nominated as the main danger, though Movie Legend ran well when third over the extended 2m2f at Market Rasen latest and could also take a hand.

Verdict

PETITE POWER has looked a different proposition since joining Fergal O'Brien, progressing again when scoring over fences at Huntingdon last time. He can race off the same mark now, switched back to the smaller obstacles, and makes plenty of appeal. Barney From Tyanee and Movie Legend look the most likely dangers.

Improved in a race run to suit on return at Cheltenham in April, coming from off the pace and scoring by 7 lengths. Good second in ladies event at Stratford following month.

Verdict

WARDEN HILL returned to form when winning between the flags last month and is expected to get competitive on these terms now returning to race under Rules. Vasco Du Mee makes some appeal on his 4m victory at Cheltenham last spring and is worth a market check, though the main danger to the selection may be Wild Bill, successful in a point-to-point when last sighted.

Verdict

WILD BILL had an air of unfinished business about him at the end of his novice chasing season and, having taken down Big Fella Thanks in a point in December, there's a good chance he can take a marked step forward on his first outing in this sphere. Fellow hunter debutant Warden Hill is the biggest threat, with Vasco du Mee unlikely to go down without a fight bidding to follow up in this race.
