Often flatters to deceive but went close over fences here last month and feasibly treated off his lower hurdle mark if on a going day.

Verdict

This is not the strongest of races and the nod goes to GIN AND TONIC, who won over C&D last month and a 3lb rise for that success should be workable. Hurricane Rita was disappointing last time out but not all horses handle heavy ground at Ffos Las and it is too soon to be writing her off. Yourholidayisover is not a prolific winner but he can go well in a race of this nature.

Verdict

HURRICANE RITA ran poorly last time but had made a positive start for this yard prior to that and is worth another chance with cheekpieces on now and Richard Johnson in the saddle. Gin And Tonic notched a third C&D win last month and is likely to be on the premises again, while Yourholidayisover also has a good recent effort to his name at this venue (fences).

Hinted at ability in bumpers and still close up when unseating 4 out on Huntingdon hurdle debut 10 days ago.

Verdict

RIO QUINTO was an easy winner on his hurdles debut over 2m4f here last month and that form is clearly the best on offer here. He must be held in some regard having made his Rules debut in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham in November. Earlshill is next on the list having made the frame in his last two starts, while Oscar Star also warrants respect.

Verdict

RIO QUINTO made an impressive start to his hurdle career here last month and can follow up for the Olly Murphy/Richard Johnson combination, most likely at the main expense of fellow last-time-out winner Oscar Star. Earlshill looks clear next best.

Now 10 lb lower compared to when striking at Plumpton last January, but drop in the weights is commensurate with a notable decline in form and looks risky after refusing at Uttoxeter last time.

Verdict

HOLLY BUSH HENRY arrives here having won a Class 2 handicap over hurdles at Sandown two starts ago before facing a tough task in a similar event over fences at Kempton last time. The son of Yeats has less on his plate here and can outclass his rivals. Popelys Gull bumped into a useful rival when finishing second here last month and he could prove to be the biggest threat to the selection. The Boss's Dream and More Than Luck are the pick of the remainder.

Verdict

A case can be made for each of these but it's HOLLY BUSH HENRY who tables the most persuasive credentials. He produced a career-best when scoring over hurdles at Sandown last month and this is less demanding than the handicap chase he subsequently contested at Kempton. More Than Luck is up in the weights and grade but has to be feared all the same, while Popelys Gull also boasts strong claims.

Temperamental but fair on the Flat (stays 11.5f), but raced too freely when tailed-off in juvenile event at Catterick on hurdles bow earlier this month.

Verdict

DOLPHIN VISTA was rated 102 when last seen on the Flat and a solid enough round of hurdling would more than suffice here for this classy five-year-old to make a winning start over the jumps. Captiva Island has first-time cheekpieces and Richard Johnson back on board after a couple of consistent efforts of late for Olly Murphy, while Potters Midnight probably needs better ground than this and might be seen to better effect when handicapping.

Verdict

Cambridgeshire winner DOLPHIN VISTA is an intriguing recruit to hurdles and looks to have been found a good opening to make a winning start in this sphere. Captiva Island is the chief threat with first-time cheekpieces applied.

Remains a maiden after 22 starts under Rules. Probably needed the run returning from a long absence when pulled up at Southwell last month, but others are still preferred.

Verdict

WISH IN A WELL seldom runs a bad race at this venue and his stamina can get him home in what is likely to be a tactical affair. Mondo Cane stayed on well at Southwell last time out but doesn't look open to much more improvement now at the age of 11. Achill Road Boy is better than what he showed last time at Ayr , while Wood Pigeon wasn't without his backers at Warwick last time when crashing out early.

Verdict

ACHILL ROAD BOY again shaped much better than the distance beaten suggests at Ayr last time, and with this drop back in trip set to suit, he receives the vote. Wood Pigeon is still lightly raced for his new yard and isn’t one to be giving up on just yet, while similar observations can be made of Tower of Allen.

Not the most reliable on balance but has held form fairly well since resuming winning ways at Statford in September. Creditable C&D second off this mark last time and claims with blinkers refitted.

Acquitted herself well on chase debut back from a lengthy absence at Ludlow last spring. However, it's been all downhill since and she's hard to recommend at present.

Ran no sort of a race on penultimate start but duly bounced back when landing a 6-runner handicap chase here (21.2f, heavy) 3 weeks ago. 7 lb lower back in this sphere so he has to be taken seriously.

Still a maiden following 11 starts under Rules and well held when last seen at Ludlow 9 months ago. However, wouldn't be the first to bounce back for this yard and she's one to note in the betting.

Verdict

Astrum doesn't quite get home over this trip and probably needs a return to shorter before becoming a strong win contender, while Bisoubisou performed much better last time on handicap debut and looks fairly treated off a mark of 82. Preference, however, is for recent course winner LITTLE WINDMILL. Neil King's charge did it well despite being unhappy on heavy ground last time out over fences and a return to hurdles off a mark of 95 could be within his grasp.

Verdict

Admittedly, FLOW WITH EVE has a point to prove on the back of her inauspicious display at Ludlow in April. However, she improved when runner-up in a big-field event at Taunton 3 starts back and will have every chance if reproducing form akin to that on debut for Olly Murphy. Stablemate Bisoubisou isn't without hope, but bigger threats may be posed by Astrum and recent chase winner Little Windmill.
