5/1, won 10-runner handicap hurdle at Warwick (25f, good to firm), driven out. Off 6 months and that race didn't really work out.

Verdict

SILVER SEA has been knocking on the door of late and may be able to step up on his latest fourth at Wincanton now fitted with a first-time tongue-tie. Ring Minella opened his account over 3m1f at Warwick in May and could remain competitive off 4lb higher, though he does have a 195-day break to overcome. A bigger danger may turn out to be recent C&D second Hier Encore, who has a 3lb rise to contend with.

Verdict

Hard to make a compelling case for anything here, but NEETSIDE should strip fitter for her reappearance and she shaped a few times last season as though she's up to winning a race. Silver Sea and Solstice Twilight are perhaps the pick of the opposition.

Winner in chase at Plumpton in January. Last of 6 in handicap hurdle at Plumpton (20.5f, good, 12/1). Off 6 months and needs to bounce back.

Verdict

LISP has winning C&D form in the book and is on a workable mark if bouncing back from his fall at Cheltenham. Any money for Moabit on his return from a break would be notable. He has been absent since winning on the Flat in April but is only 3lb higher than his last winning hurdles mark. And The New didn't do much on his handicap debut but his bumper and novice form was good.

Verdict

It's unlikely we have seen the best of LISP yet, and he can get back on track on his first start since falling in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham in March when prominent in the betting. Moabit looks the one for the forecast on reappearance.

Looks limited on early evidence. Others preferred on chasing debut.

Verdict

DIPLOMATE SIVOLA was touched off by under a length over the extended 2m3f here last month and may be able to step up on that effort now granted this stiffer test. Pull Together has been absent since landing a maiden hurdle comfortably at Plumpton in April and is worth a market check on his fencing bow. Fellow chase debutant Plus One, who returns from a break and debuts for a new stable, would also be interesting.

Verdict

PLUS ONE appeals as the type to make up into a better chaser given his pointing background and can make a winning start for his new yard back from 10 months away. Diplomate Sivola and Pull Together are a couple of others to consider.

Verdict

CHEEKY RASCAL made a bright start to his juvenile hurdle career when an easy winner at Wincanton last month and having finished within a head of 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook when with Richard Hannon on the Flat, he can continue the promise he showed on his first outing for Oliver Sherwood. Tour de Paris bumped into some useful opponents - including a decent stablemate - on his opening timber outing at Market Rasen and is expected to improve, while any significant market support for The Lincoln Lawyer and Tazka should be noted.

Verdict

There was plenty to like about TAZKA's first effort over hurdles at Kempton last month and she's taken to build on that and strike at the second time of asking for new trainer Gary Moore. Wincanton-winner Cheeky Rascal may prove next best ahead of Michael Madgwick's Vlannon.

Not the most reliable of types but back in winning groove here in October and creditable third of 9 at Warwick (25.4f, good, 6/1) subsequently. Not without each-way hope.

Verdict

All three of POTTERS APPROACH's wins have come over distances of three miles or more and the way he was running on over 3m2f at Chepstow in first-time cheekpieces suggests there should be more to come from the seven-year-old. Morney Wing is an ever present in this sphere and has a respectable record at this track, while Robert's Star and Mighty Leader are both useful stayers who can have a say in proceedings.

Verdict

ROBERT'S STAR made an encouraging start to the season when third at Stratford where he was doing all his best work at the finish. This stamina test will be right up his street and he is marginally preferred to another potentially useful chaser in Potters Approach. Shanroe Santos also enters calculations and Doing Fine will merit serious consideration if going to post.

Remains a maiden after 16 NH runs. 40/1, creditable eighth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (16f, good) 19 days ago. 3 lb 'wrong' at the weights and likely to find a few too good once again.

Verdict

SKY FULL OF STARS showed a good attitude in the spring when battling on well to finish second at Hexham and Newcastle, and the change of scenery to Chris Gordon's yard could spark the eight-year-old back into winning contention here. A mark of 95 looks there to be shot at and he can account for Westerbee, who was below-par at Warwick when last seen but remains capable of better Kalarika should have come on plenty for her reappearance fifth at Chepstow 19 days ago and is another to note.

Verdict

The vote goes to KALARIKA, who wasn't overly knocked about on her reappearance at Chepstow last month and is expected to benefit from this step back up in trip. Bonza Girl will be a player if fit enough to do herself justice following a 7-month lay-off and Min Tiky is worth considering, for all she has yet to trouble the judge. Sky Full of Stars is another with realistic claims.

7/1, first run since leaving Miss Rose Grissell when well-beaten last of 5 to Turban in handicap chase at Plumpton (19.8f, good) 13 days ago. 10 lb out of weights.

Verdict

Turban did it well at Plumpton last time but has more on his plate off 7lb higher in this better event, while Ballyantics took a backwards step at Bangor last time but remains capable of much better based on his summer form. Filemon should appreciate this jump up in distance, but this can go to MIDNIGHT OWLE, who was second to a nice horse at Stratford last time on his return to action and could outrun his likely fair odds here.

Verdict

FILEMON is threatening to come good soon provided he can cut out the errors, shaping much better than the bare result at Warwick. Turban produced his best effort for some time when winning at Plumpton 2 weeks ago and is feared most.
