7/2, looked likely to finish second when jinked and unseated rider approaching last at Plumpton (25f) a fortnight ago. Evidently has the odd quirk but on a good mark.

Verdict

DON LAMI was an impressive winner of a novice event over C&D earlier in the month and he can take this contest off what should be a workable mark of 118. Rothman is another recent winner but does need to bounce back from a slightly disappointing subsequent effort. Ballintara and Good News are others who warrant consideration.

Verdict

ROTHMAN arrives in good form and might be worth siding with for the Chris Gordon team. Good News likely would have finished second but for jinking and unseating late on last time and can figure if those wayward tendencies don't resurface. Recent C&D novice winner Dom Lami is unexposed and also merits respect.

Well beaten in 3 runs over hurdles, but immediately upped her game switched to fences/handicaps when fourth at Stratford (19.5f). Ran poorly at Worcester since, though.

Verdict

TWO HOOTS finished second in an arguably stronger race than this at Wincanton last time out, and he can go one better now. Spiritofchartwell is a consistent veteran who often finds himself in the mix and he should be thereabouts once again. Third Act finished a place behind the selection latest and he also merits a place on the shortlist.

Verdict

This looks decidedly trappy but TWO HOOTS suggested a small race of this nature is within reach when second at Wincanton recently, and the application of cheekpieces may well help now. Spiritofchartwell has a good record here and is feared, along with Key To The West.

Verdict

RINGA DING DING has shown enough ability in both of his hurdles starts to date to suggest that he can be successful in a race of this nature. Shillingsworth will find this easier than the Newbury maiden hurdle he contested when last seen shortly before Christmas, while Delirious Love and Roll Of The Dice both have good each-way claims.

Verdict

This looks a good opportunity for the Paul Nicholls-trained RINGA DING DING to get off the mark. He travelled powerfully enough last time to suggest this shorter trip could suit and can prove too strong for Shillingsworth and Gary Moore's Roll of The Dice.

Verdict

ANTONY returned to winning ways over the extended 2m5f here last month and the handicapper has been very fair by raising him just 2lb for that victory. The step up in trip should not be a problem and he tops the shortlist ahead of Spookydooky, who also regained the winning thread when last seen. The rest cannot be discounted but Kings Lad is the pick of them.

Verdict

A quintet of last-time-out winners, with Antony making most appeal up only 2 lb for his easy success here last month. Likely front-runner Bugsie Malone is feared most.

Verdict

NAVAJO WAR DANCE appeared to benefit from a wind operation when second at Worcester earlier in the month and may find further improvement for a first-time tongue tie. Zoltan Varga should be suited by a step back down in trip having seemed not to stay at Kempton, while Royal Hall and Spirit Of Rome can both put themselves into the mix on recent performances.

Verdict

NAVAJO WAR DANCE improved further on the back of a wind operation when runner-up at Worcester last time, and he’s taken to go one better. Zolton Varga found the test too much at Kempton, and he’s one to be interested in now returned to shorter, with Royal Hall another capable of getting involved.

Verdict

ROPARTA AVENUE was second on his most recent start at Plumpton when just denied by King Cool, having been headed after the final fence. He went up 7lb for that effort but returns to the scene of his last victory and he can get back to winning ways. Quick N' Easy is very familiar with the runner-up berth and is likely to play a minor role again, while Lord Aldervale can go well after a break.

Verdict

RED PENNY looked rusty and above all else in need of the run after 18 months off here last month and could be worth chancing having been given a break by the handicapper. Lord Aldervale and Quick N' Easy head the dangers.

Looks of little account these days, dropping away on handicap hurdle debut here 3 weeks ago.

Verdict

Searching bounced back to form in selling company on his latest outing and has the assistance of James Bowen with his valuable 3lb claim. Howlongisafoot was runner-up here last time and runs off same mark but it is his stablemate JIMMY who gets the vote. He has been brought along steadily with three runs in novice hurdles and appeals as the type to progress through the handicap ranks.

Verdict

HOWLONGISAFOOT ran a cracking race over C&D 3 weeks ago and has obvious claims if in the same form. Vexillum caught the eye behind him on that occasion and should be firmly in the mix again. Searching looks the pick of Gary Moore's trio.
