No real form of worth over fences, but his second in this sphere over C&D in August does suggest he can still be competitive from a basement mark.

Verdict

GOLD BONNE RAINE steadily progressed throughout the year, culminating in a career-best effort last time at Ffos Las when beaten just a length into second. A 3lb higher mark shouldn't be too much of a hinderance and the seven-year-old has performed well in the hands of jockey Isabel Williams the last twice. Quinto was well held last time but has been given a chance racing off the same handicap mark back over timber. The veteran Snowball is another who appears well treated now 13lb lower than when last successful in this sphere.

Verdict

GOLD BONNE RAINE is still a maiden but she again emerged with plenty of credit when runner-up at Ffos Las last month and can win a race of this nature. Downloadtheapp would be a big threat if seeing out this longer trip (keen early last time), while Quinto shouldn't be ignored either for all he isn't one to go overboard about.

Fairly useful winning hurdler. Translated that ability to chasing at first time of asking when second of 4 in 3m Bangor maiden last month. Open to improvement. Has tongue strap on first time.

Verdict

Despite coming out second best on her chasing debut, there was a lot to like about MOLLY CHILDERS' performance and she drew well clear of the rest of the field at Bangor that day. Stuart Edmunds' six-year-old is now tried in a tongue-tie, which should help at the business end of proceedings, and it will be no surprise if she comes out on top here. Jet Set was a useful hurdler last season and is entitled to be on the premises if transferring the best of her form over timber to her new discipline, while Dinos Benefit claimed a notable scalp over timber in the spring and is well worth another try at this distance despite disappointing last time.

Verdict

MOLLY CHILDERS made a sound start to her chase career at Bangor last month and can make her experience count against 5 rivals who are tackling fences for the first time. Graceful Legend will clearly be a threat if he she can translate anything like her useful hurdle ability, while Huntingdon novice hurdle winner Jet Set landed a point at the start of her career.

Back on track when defying a 5 lb lower mark at Stratford (2m) last month, winning with a bit in hand, albeit in a weak race. Steps back up in trip now.

Verdict

Seamus Mullins is double-handed here with the consistent Kentford Heiress and She's Gina, who would have leading claims if in the same form as when scoring at Warwick in the summer. Shambra produced a useful reappearance when second at Stratford, beaten less then two lengths, and has to be respected. However, preference is for SOLSTALLA, who came out on top in that contest and the step in distance here should allow her to extend the winning margin over the aforementioned, with a leading jockey taking over now in the saddle.

Verdict

A leap of faith is required in supporting SECRET DOOR on recent evidence. Yet it is feasible to think the extended 26f caught her out on return at Newton Abbot and, given she will find this much more suitable, she could be worth chancing from what rates a handy mark. She's Gina and Daytime Ahead are just 2 possible threats in a wide-open affair.

Revoque mare. Half-sister to 3 winners, including fairly useful chaser Alpancho, stayed 23f, and fair hurdler Tiger Line. Point winner, but has taken a while to return to the track.

Verdict

COMMANCHE RED was a decent performer in the NH flat sphere and was considered good enough for a crack at the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree, where he didn't disgrace himself finishing sixth to Portrush Ted. His other bumper efforts were filled with promise, a third at Southwell behind Strong Glance and beating well-touted rivals when scoring at Kempton, and made a pleasing start to his hurdling career here last month. He wouldn't need to improve on that performance to beat Mon Port, who has a lot to prove after a lacklustre display at Fakenham, and Tigeralley, who makes her debut for Dan Skelton.

Verdict

COMMANCHE RED isn’t sure to be suited by this drop back in trip, but he’s the brightest prospect in this field and hard to oppose. Front-runner Mon Port looks the main threat.

Aided by the application of a tongue tie when landing 7-runner handicap chase at Fontwell in June. Good second at Newton Abbot later that month but has followed that with 3 heavy defeats.

Verdict

SOUNDS OF ITALY improved from his first outing for Dan Skelton over hurdles at Uttoxeter when winning as he pleased at the same track over fences last month. A 12lb rise looks very fair for that performance and he could have further improvement to come. Bermeo has won his last two chases at Newton Abbot and Worcester so warrants consideration as he is only 4lb higher due to the narrow margins of those victories, while a return to fences could see Mortens Leam improve as he is 19lb lower than when last encountering them at Fakenham in March.

Verdict

SOUNDS OF ITALY was much improved on his second start for this yard when winning at Uttoxeter 3 weeks ago and is very much one to keep on the right side. Hat-trick seeking Bermeo is the obvious threat.

Malinas filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Sartorial Elegance and bumper winner Blu Cavalier. Didn't show much on debut in March.

Verdict

SIGN OF WAR makes plenty of appeal on pedigree with some of his relatives winning contests in this sphere before going on to make into good prospects over obstacles. Two of his those, Rather Be and Sign Of A Victory, have proven themselves to be top-class handicappers and Evan Williams' gelding can make a winning start to his career. I K Brunel cost 62,000 euros as a store horse in June 2017 and warrants respect for Olly Murphy, while House Island should possess enough speed for a contest of this nature being a half-brother to useful miler Lexington Times.

Verdict

SIGN OF WAR hails from a talented family, his dam a winner in this sphere, and he's an appealing candidate on paper starting out for an in-form yard. I K Brunel fetched €62,000 last year and also ticks a few boxes, while Milkwood is probably the pick of those with experience.
