Verdict

Salazar has had a wind operation but was 26 lengths behind Twilight when last seen. The latter was disappointing at Newcastle last time, but first-time cheekpieces and a return to turf should see Tim Easterby's charge in a better light. Footstepsintime has been poor the last twice but is capable on his day, although the claims of WENSLEY are more appealing. The three-year-old likes soft ground and has dropped to a very tempting mark of 63 now wearing first-time cheekpieces.

Verdict

Irish-raider FOOTSTEPSINTIME possibly needed the run after 4 months off at Naas and is on a fair mark. Twilight is generally a progressive filly and is feared most having possibly found her latest run coming too soon.

Lightly-raced maiden. 80/1, first run since leaving Richard Fahey when eighth of 11 in minor event at Newcastle (8f). Off 179 days. Makes handicap debut. Difficult ask on what she's offered so far.

Verdict

Edgar Allan Poe returned to form when second last time and is expected to build on that under Danny Tudhope, while Jack Blane isn't easy to win with (yet to score on grass) but should enjoy this shorter distance. Iconic Code travelled well last time at Carlisle and wears a first-time visor now after fading in the final stages there, but could struggle to contain JO BINNEY. She makes her handicap debut off a fair mark and outran 66-1 odds at the Curragh recently in a maiden.

Verdict

EDGAR ALLAN POE returned to form when runner-up at Carlisle 17 days ago, and from the same mark, he's poised to go one better (3 lb below last successful mark). Ireland are well represented, with Military Hill and Less of That perhaps the pick of them.

Verdict

CAN CAN SIXTY TWO relished the soft ground when winning in this company at Goodwood last time for Mick Channon and the three-year-old can defy a 4lb rise to score again. Carnageo has been frustrating to follow in recent times and remains on a decent mark after bumping into one at Ayr earlier this week, while Rosemay was just touched off over course and distance 10 days ago and she shouldn't be far away once more.

Verdict

CARNAGEO arrives on the back of a good second at Ayr on Thursday and should prove hard to beat on these terms. What Wonders Weave can follow him home.

Verdict

CLOUDLAM represents a trainer who is 4-10 here in the last five years and can build on a previously promising debut at Chelmsford. The three-year-old is a half-sister to a winner over 7f, and should appreciate this drop in trip to 1m. That was a hot race on paper with the right yards dominating at the finish and she might have too much for Jamil, who has weight to concede, and Never Be Enough, who finished behind the latter last time at Carlisle.

Verdict

JAMIL is difficult to oppose after finding only a useful prospect too strong after 11 months off at Carlisle recently. Cloudlam’s debut effort has been boosted and she could be the one to follow the selection home.

Latest win at Thirsk in July. Not at best when fifth of 6 in handicap at Musselburgh (8f, good to firm, 5/1) 8 days ago. Handles testing ground and capable of bouncing back.

Verdict

KALAGIA was a good second at Musselburgh last Saturday, appearing to bounce back to somewhere near her best. If able to replicate that effort just over a week later, Mark Johnston's filly can get herself back to winning ways. Seduce Me has become a frustrating individual despite having dropped down the handicap this season, but a first-time visor could see improvement with conditions to suit. The return to a mile could also see Paramount Love in a better light.

Verdict

SEDUCE ME hasn't been showing much but her mark has come down 15 lb since the start of the season and it's worth taking a chance that a combination of a return to her favoured testing ground and a change of headgear sparks a revival. The reliable Kalagia looks a big player again.

Verdict

CALLIOPE has been running well on her last couple of starts, third at both Redcar over 1m6f and Catterick over 1m4f, and the daughter of Poet's Voice is more than capable of getting her head back in front. Nearly There makes appeal on his handicap debut with Scott McCullagh's valuable 7lb claim being used, while Palindrome looks best of the remainder despite a quick turnaround from his fifth at Ayr the other day.

Verdict

CALLIOPE can usually be relied upon to run her race and she appeals as the most solid option. Princess Nearco and Last Garrison would be threats if putting their best foot forward.

Verdict

PENTLAND HILLS has won well the last twice and having been in fine form throughout this season shouldn't be far away from landing the hat-trick here. Emerald Rocket went close over a furlong less last time and could have more to come from the same rating, while, Kenny George could have plenty more to come at this distance. Course and distance winner Pammi is also noted dropping in trip having finished second over a furlong further last time.

Verdict

Plenty in with a shout but SOLDIER TO FOLLOW did catch the eye when travelling powerfully for a long way at Newbury last time and is well worth siding with having been dropped a further 2 lb since. Pammi was only narrowly denied off this mark at Ayr earlier in the week and rates an obvious danger for Jim Goldie. The hat-trick seeking Pentland Hills is also much respected.
