Well below form both starts this year and hard to fancy from out of the handicap.

Verdict

Ed Walker took this contest last year with a horse with a similar profile and the same owners as ABEL TASMAN, who can leave his latest Nottingham failure in the past and get back to his smart all-weather form from last autumn. Tom Dascombe has a fine record here and Mac O'polo has to be respected, with the lightly-raced Sharp Reply and Iain Jardine's Archipeligo others to note in the market.

Verdict

MAC O'POLO may be seen in a brighter light over longer trips, but he's more interesting than most and he could yet take-off (only 8 races into his career). Archipeligo is on a workable mark and would come into the reckoning if building on his latest effort, while Quoteline Direct should be sharper for last month’s reappearance and could also figure.

Verdict

Godolphin's 150,000gns New Approach colt Good Fortune is a very interesting newcomer, but the form of AXEL JACKLIN's Newmarket second from the weekend looks strong and he can make this quick reappearance count with a similar performance. Arthur Kitt is a half-brother to first-time-out winner Formidable Kitt, out of Queen Mary heroine Ceiling Kitty, and needs respecting, with stablemate Five Amarones another to note.

Verdict

Plenty of interesting newcomers, not least ARTHUR KITT for Tom Dascombe and Richard Kingscote, and he gets the vote without the benefit of market clues. Good Fortune is another with obvious claims for Godolphin, while Axel Jacklin could take another step forward on his third start and emerge as a big player.

Never really kicked on from his Hamilton success last summer in 4 subsequent starts, and has something to prove on return from 8 months off here.

Verdict

Tom Dascombe holds a strong hand with course-and-distance winner Ginbar the choice of Richard Kingscote, and Porchy Party, who was a handy third on his seasonal bow at Chester and races off the same mark. However, it is hard to oppose Salisbury victor BEYOND EQUAL following up under a 6lb penalty, which leaves him 4lb well-in at the revised ratings, and the mount of David Egan was impressive when nearly four lengths clear last week. Kalagia and surprise Beverley scorer Bahuta Acha are others to consider.

Verdict

BEYOND EQUAL posted much-improved form when running out a ready winner at Salisbury last week and makes plenty of appeal under his penalty. Kalagia and Bahuta Acha head the list of dangers.

Showed ability when fifth of 10 in minor event at Kempton (7f) on debut in October. Should be more to come this term but others hold more pressing claims.

Verdict

SHEPHERD MARKET ended her juvenile campaign with a narrow defeat in a Listed race at Newbury in late October and based on that evidence, she should take plenty of beating here, despite having to carry a 4lb penalty. Orsera is another who displayed above-average form last year and she is an obvious threat to the selection. The likes of Feline Groovy, Labrega, Nkosikazi and Watheeqa have all shown ability and they should have more improvement to come.

Verdict

FELINE GROOVY is bred to be useful and duly posted an encouraging second on debut at Newmarket last month. She should have learnt plenty from that and is taken to open her account here. Shepherd Market is the obvious danger on the back of a progressive 2-y-o campaign, whilst Labrega and Orsera are also of interest.

Verdict

Dance On The Day clearly improved for her debut experience by winning at Wolverhampton late last month but a 7lb penalty for that success leaves her vulnerable. IMPROVE appeared to need the run when finishing seventh at Newmarket a few weeks ago and a better performance can be expected in this weaker race. Shamlahar cost 155,000gns as a yearling and she wouldn't need to be a superstar to go well on her first taste of competitive action.

Verdict

DANCE ON THE DAY had a couple of subsequent winners back in second and fourth when winning at Wolverhampton so she may prove up to defying a penalty. The biggest threats may come from well-connected newcomers Shamlahar and Mojika.

Improved when winning 10-runner handicap at Kempton (1m) last month, suited by increase in trip. Creditable fourth of 15 on turf debut at Pontefract since, short of room.

Verdict

NO I'M EASY was deemed good enough to run in the Mill Reef last season and seemed to need the outing at Chester earlier this month, finishing mid-division in a highly-competitive handicap. A mark of 80 looks to be well within his reach, and it is worth noting that his handler won this event last year. Knighted didn't appear to be in love with the fast ground at Nottingham but still proved too good and could have more to offer, while Bacacarat has shown enough to win one of these and is also considered.

Verdict

BOMBASTIC shaped well when sixth in a big field at Ascot on his return and this track should play more to his strengths. Bacacarat finished in front of the selection there and rates a big danger, with the progressive Knighted another to consider.

Resumed winning ways at Kempton (7f, AW) in October. Perhaps still working her way back to fitness and form at Musselburgh last time, so not entirely dismissed.

Verdict

Kodicat wasn't disgraced after giving herself plenty to do at Chelmsford, and this step up in trip should assist Kevin Ryan's filly. Little Miss Kodi struggled at Kempton when 3lb well-in, and arrives here with questions to answer. Perhaps GRECIAN DIVINE can take advantage of this opening because she ran a sound race despite being upped 4lb for a previous victory last time out, and looks open to improvement now raised in distance.

Verdict

An open contest, but a chance is taken on ASSANILKA who went close from this mark at Lingfield in February and would be dangerous if back to her best returned to turf. Kodicat is worth considering having won second time out last season, with Grecian Divine also likely to be in the mix.
