Long-standing maiden who shaped well with the tongue strap discarded at Worcester in June. Failed to build on that the following month and not seen since.

Verdict

BRING BACK CHARLIE made a couple of costly mistakes at Bangor last month but won't face the same strength of competition now dropping in class off 3lb lower for Nigel Twiston-Davies and Jamie Bargary. The seven-year-old should handle this testing ground and he can get the better of New Republic. The latter enjoyed a first run in a handicap last time out off bottom weight, winning with relative ease despite being 'wrong' at the weights. He didn't shape like an obvious candidate to follow up, and perhaps Edgar can provide the bigger threat.

Verdict

NEW REPUBLIC showed his first form to make a winning handicap debut at Wincanton on Saturday, and may well be able to follow up under a 7 Ib penalty in another ordinary handicap. Bring Back Charlie will be competitive if coming back to the form of his Uttoxeter win in October, while Edgar should strip fitter for a recent pipe-opener on the Flat.

Fair performer on the Flat. Showed an aptitude for hurdling at Ffos Las on debut last month, albeit in a race run at a crawl. Should come on for that experience.

Verdict

BOUTAN was a four-time winner on the Flat before switching to hurdles and she made a debut full of promise at Ffos Las four weeks ago, finishing well after creeping into contention with some solid jumping. Bernard Llewellyn's four-year-old can make amends with victory at the main expense of Bishop Of Bling, who should appreciate a switch to this sharper track to try and get home over this 2m trip. Long Call is an intriguing runner for Tony Martin and Davy Russell and requires a market check.

Verdict

BUCKLE STREET progressed well from his hurdling debut at Taunton last month and is taken to get off the mark in this sphere at the third attempt with the prospect of more to come. Irish raider Long Call is a very interesting runner, and needs monitoring closely in the market representing a shrewd yard, while Bishop of Bling ought to do better at some point.

Pulled-up both starts over hurdles last year and can only be watched on switch to chasing. Hooded.

Verdict

RAYVIN BLACK couldn't handle the pace in a Grade 3 over hurdles at Ascot last month but he has long shaped like chasing would be his game and Oliver Sherwood's charge can make a winning debut in this discipline. A versatile type, the eight-year-old is likely to be aggressively ridden by Thomas Garner and he could have the pace to put this field to the sword if his jumping is solid enough. Zamdy Man landed a beginners' chase in April before a solid enough reappearance three weeks ago, while Gino Trail's second to Buveur D'Air 11 days ago was impressive and a repeat would put him on the premises.

Verdict

GINO TRAIL has been a real advert for his trainer this term, running Buveur d'Air close conceding 6 lb to that rival at Warwick last month, and he can strike under a double penalty here. Zamdy Man and Rayvin Black can give him most to think about.

Modest form but did step up when runner-up on C&D handicap debut last month. Each-way claims again with a repeat.

Modest form but did step up when runner-up on C&D handicap debut last month. Each-way claims again with a repeat.

Verdict

Cadeau George has been raised 5lb for scoring over 3m1f at Huntingdon on Boxing Day and is expected to give a good account, likewise last-time-out winner Bryden Boy, who sauntered to a 12-length success at Uttoxeter last month and has a 9lb rise to contend with. Preferred ahead of both, however, is SIR WILL, who has been outpaced over shorter lately and promises to be suited by this stiffer test now moving into a handicap.

Verdict

SIR WILL seemed unsuited by the emphasis on speed when fourth at Chepstow in October, but this looks more suitable now handicapping and he could be worth chancing for the Kerry Lee stable. Last-time-out winners Cadeau George and Bryden Boy are live threats though, whilst Socksy requires a market check also.

Little solid form so far and hard to recommend.

Verdict

KAPRICORNE attracted support prior to finishing second over the extended 2m7f at Huntingdon on Boxing Day and appears to have dropped to a workable rating. Sophie Leech's 10-year-old is currently rated 16lb higher over hurdles and remains one to keep an eye on in this sphere. Recent Southwell runner-up Gale Force Oscar can scrap it out with Money Maid, who was beaten by a neck off this mark over 3m at Wetherby last month, for the silver medal.

Verdict

MONEY MAID has taken very well to chasing and has an obvious chance having gone close off this mark at Wetherby last time. You Too Pet and Monderon are others to consider.

Modest form in bumpers for Susan Johnson last season. May need this first outing over hurdles.

Verdict

Lamanver Odyssey scored with plenty in hand over the extended 2m2f at Exeter last month and is expected to remain competitive now turned out under a penalty. However, it might be worth taking a chance on the reopposing third from that contest, LADY KARINA. Venetia Williams' mare appears to be improving between runs and is 6lb better off with the selection for a four-and-a-half-length beating last time. River Arrow is also worth a market check on her return.

Verdict

LADY KARINA looks a winner waiting to happen in this sphere after her good third to Lamanver Odyssey at Exeter and can reverse the form with her penalised rival now. Arctic Lady showed a bit behind that pair on her hurdles bow and she can improve.
