First worthwhile form for some time when placed in 6f handicaps at Southwell and Wolverhampton recently, but took a backward step on first try at Kempton last time.

Verdict

Bobbyow has been knocking hard on the door of late and seems sure to go close again. However, he remains a maiden and certainly isn't thrown in at present so another chance is given to ROYAL ENVOY. The selection was a neck winner over C&D two starts back and is best forgiven for a below par showing latest, when sent off in front at a suicidal early pace only to fade badly in the closing stages. Little Perisher is another with claims if returning to form with Hambleton also respected.

Verdict

Hambleton has shaped better than his latest sixth placed efforts suggest, and he is the selection stepping back up to 6f from a good draw. Bobbyow rates the main danger, whereas money for Sabys Gem would make him particularly interesting.

Has little solid form from 7 starts, and makes little appeal upped to 12f in first-time tongue strap.

Verdict

A few of these come into this out of sorts but DIAMOND TWISTER showed improved form when chasing home impressive winner Trecase here last time and he remains on a really good mark at present. This trip is ideal and the booking of Luke Morris would suggest connections are hopeful of another huge run. It's Dubai Dolly has been running well enough in defeat recently and could prove the main danger from Escape Artist, back up in trip following a fair effort over a mile here last time.

Verdict

Diamond Twister posted a sound effort last time, doing best of those to race near the pace, and the form has received a couple of small boosts, so he could go one better here. Escape Artist and It's Dubai Dolly are selected as the main dangers.

Not knocked about sole run at 2 yrs in 6f Windsor maiden in August. Stable confidence rarely misplaced in these types of event, so the market should guide.

Verdict

Any market support for Clive Cox's newcomer Perfect Fantasy could well be worth noting, but experience can often prove crucial in these types of events and, as a result, EL MCGLYNN gets the vote. Luke Morris' mount has been hammering on the door in this company of late and first-time cheekpieces could help her earn a well deserved win tonight. Heartsong has displayed a fair level of ability in four starts and could mount a bold bid if building on her comeback fourth at Lingfield 13 days ago.

Verdict

Any money for either of the newcomers could prove very significant, but as things stand Heartsong looks worth another chance to redeem herself for a below-par effort on last month's return. El McGlynn, in first-time cheekpieces, is the obvious threat after finishing runner-up the last twice.

Wasn't subjected to a hard race in any of her 3 starts at 2 yrs in 7f maidens. Respectable efforts in 2 handicaps up to 1¼m this winter, and not one to give up on just yet.

Verdict

PURPLE AFFAIR is taken to open his account at the eighth time of asking. He has been knocking on the door over 7f recently and the way he has been finishing off those races suggests that this step up in trip can only help. Auntie Kathryn has been running well off slightly higher marks of late and warrants plenty of respect with talented apprentice Raul Da Silva taking further weight off her back, while Waspy rates an each-way player having improved for the switch to handicap company this year.

Verdict

Purple Affair has been shaping well of late and, with the step up in trip expected to suit, makes the most appeal here. Auntie Kathryn and Waspy also look capable of making the frame.

Verdict

RIGID was mightily impressive when winning an apprentices' race under George Downing over this C&D recently and, 7lb better off tonight, he could take some stopping in his bid to follow up. Querido got within half-a-length of winning off this mark over track and trip last week and ought to play a leading role if reproducing that level of performance, while Esytopolishadimond is an interesting raider from across the Irish Sea and certainly showed enough when third at Dundalk last time to suggest that he can get involved.

Verdict

Rigid was a 6-length winner over C&D last time, and is hard to oppose with no penalty for that success. Irish-raider Esytopolishadimond looks the main threat after a solid effort at Dundalk, while the consistent Emerald Royal also needs to be considered.

Verdict

FRANCO IS MY NAME appears to have been found a great opportunity to regain the winning thread. He ran up to something like his best when runner-up over 1m4f at Lingfield just short of four weeks ago (third and fourth have won since) and he's entitled to strip fitter for that first start since August. From the opposite end of the handicap, Sand Skier rates a big threat having run well off this mark over 1m5f at Lingfield latest, while Battleoftrafalgar is currently 7lb lower than when last winning cannot be ruled out.

Verdict

Franco Is My Name is likely to be popular after a solid reappearance effort last time, but he isn't the easiest to win with, and a chance is taken on Brouhaha, who also shaped fairly well after a short break last time, and is back down to a tempting mark.

Appreciated drop in grade to land claimers at Lingfield and over C&D for David Simcock, and better than result when mid-field in 1m handicap for new yard here last time. Not ruled out.

Imposing sort who built on efforts in maidens when landing a C&D nursery, and again ran well here on 2011 return. Not seen since a poor effort on turf in June, which tempers confidence.

Easily his best effort in maidens when third of 7 at Yarmouth in September, and not ruled out if building on that, but has a bit to prove on AW debut after 5½ months off.

In frame twice in maidens for Marcus Tregoning, but left that yard after a poor effort in a seller on return, and again below par on handicap debut last time. Drop to 7f unlikely to suit.

Hard to predict, but back to winning ways in 1m handicap here in January, and easy to make excuses for lesser effort next time. Well drawn now, and chances if getting strong pace which suits.

Verdict

Tiradito has been knocking on the door recently and is likely go close once again, but SHE AIN'T A SAINT edges the vote with top all-weather jockey Luke Morris in the plate. Jane Chapple-Hyam's charge appeared to benefit from the application of blinkers (worn again tonight) when third over 1m here last time and this drop in trip should help her cause. Lastkingofscotland has been running consistently well and looks worthy of place on the shortlist, as does three-time C&D scorer Russian Ice.

Verdict

Ducal is coming back from a break, but he has plenty in his favour if fully wound up, and may yet have more to offer. He's taken to score from Hoover and She Ain't A Saint, both of whom hinted at a revival in fortunes last time.
