Verdict

SPARE PARTS was an impressive all-the-way winner over a slightly longer trip at Wolverhampton last week and, handily placed in stall four, he could grab an early lead and run his rivals into the ground once more. Captain Peaky placed at long odds in a 1m2f contest at Chelmsford latest and he should give another good account, while stablemates Touch The Clouds and Tigerfish also hold solid claims.

Verdict

SPARE PARTS has made a positive start for new handler Phil McEntee and looks capable of defying a penalty for last week's Wolverhampton success. Touch The Clouds went agonisingly close to ending his long losing run at Chelmsford last time and should go well again, while his stablemate Tigerfish took a step back in the right direction last time and can figure if a wide draw doesn't inconvenience.

Verdict

Albishr very much sets the standard with a rating of 96 and he seems sure to go close, but a chance is taken on the less exposed HOLY SHAMBLES in receipt of 7lb. Marco Botti's charge made a promising start to his racing career when fifth behind subsequent winner Rusper over this C&D (Sovereign Duke seventh and Storm Again ninth) and there is no telling how much he will have learnt from that experience. Orchid Lily also merits consideration.

Verdict

ALBISHR made a solid start for new trainer Simon Dow when runner-up over C&D last month and is probably the percentage call, although he does face a few rivals with potential in the shape of Sovereign Duke, John Gosden's Orchid Lily and Holy Shambles.

Verdict

Sir Hamilton ran out an easy winner at Chelmsford and he warrants plenty of respect running under a penalty, but BRISCOLA might prove difficult to beat in receipt of 9lb. She has displayed a fair level of ability in four starts thus far, earning a mark of 74, and could potentially improve for the application of first-time cheekpieces. Precious Silk is another to consider having shaped with plenty of promise in both of her appearances.

Verdict

SIR HAMILTON scored in good style at Chelmsford last month and might be up to defying the penalty with further progress on the cards. Briscola will be suited by the step back up in trip and will be a threat if first-time cheekpieces see her pull out a bit more. Petruchio and Aquarium are newcomers who make appeal on paper.

Verdict

A number of these look to have chances, so DEELEY'S DOUBLE receives what can only be a tentative vote. He continues to hammer on the door and having top jockey P J McDonald aboard can only help as he bids to open his account. Zambeasy placed off this mark at Lingfield last time and he is likely to be in the shake-up again, while Mullarkey and Daily Trader are others to keep an eye on.

Verdict

A competitive handicap for the level. MAC O'POLO took another small step forward when runner-up at Wolverhampton last month, and there should be more to come from him as his stamina is drawn out further over this new trip. Zambeasy is now 5 lb lower than for his last win, so should remain competitive at the least, while Ice Canyon remains interesting, particularly on his form as a juvenile.

Promising sort. Three wins from 4 runs last year. 8/15, third of 4 in minor event at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 6 days ago, left poorly placed. Remains with potential and she should make amends before long.

Verdict

Tomily just failed to get the better of an in-form winner at Wolverhampton last month and has to be respected, while Reckless Endeavour continues to shape well in defeat for Jamie Osborne and has the plum draw in stall one. Diagnostic didn't look a straight forward ride when beaten at odds-on six days ago, and it could be worth chancing that DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT arrives here fully fit after a 81 day absence. Not seen since finishing down the field in a Grade 1 at Ascot, he represents an in-form yard and looks to be the most likely winner.

Verdict

DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT shaped much better than the result in the Champion Sprint Stakes at Ascot last time, and he earns the vote returned to much calmer waters here. Diagnostic remains open to improvement, while Mythmaker rarely runs a bad race on the all-weather and is entitled to plenty of respect.

Verdict

COMPTON PRINCE won a division of this race last year and arrives here after an impressive all-the-way victory at Lingfield last time out. He is just 1lb above his mark 12 months ago, and a position in stall two makes it possible for Tom Marquand to use positive tactics once more. Strategic Heights has been getting closer since moving to Jamie Osborne from Ireland, while Everkyllachy was a well-backed third at Wolverhampton over 5f last time out.

Verdict

COMPTON PRINCE returned to his best under a more forceful ride when scoring at Lingfield last month, and he is just 1 lb higher than when winning a division of this race last year. Strategic Heights isn't the most consistent but he's capable off this mark if on a 'going' day, while Bridge Builder had excuses on his latest run and could fare better this time.
