Verdict

DANCING JO kept on well in the closing stages when scoring over 7f off 6lb lower over 7f here last time and is a potential improver now granted this stiffer test. Red Phoenix is worth a market check on his handicap bow and could feasibly take closer order, while Rambaldi turned in an improved effort when fifth over C&D last time and appears to have been found a realistic opening to make his presence felt now handicapping.

Verdict

RAMBALDI caught the eye in a race that's proving solid form over 7f here on his penultimate start, a mark of 67 not out of his reach based on that effort, so he's worth the chance to build on that promise now. Toro Dorado has obviously claims from the same mark as his excellent recent second, while last-time-out winner Dancing Jo should be respected.

Once-raced maiden. 150/1, last of 9 in minor event at Newmarket (7f, good) on debut 22 days ago.

Verdict

Roger Varian representative FEARLESSLY took a step in the right direction when third over this trip at Newcastle eight days ago and sets the form standard on that performance. Cafe Espresso is seemingly improving between runs and could play a minor role if building on her Yarmouth fifth last time out, while Snow In Spring and Raise The Clouds are two newcomers to monitor closely in the betting.

Verdict

FEARLESSLY shaped well in a better race than this over C&D on debut before being caught further back than ideal at Kempton last time, so she's expected to get off the mark at the third attempt unless Cafe Espresso takes a marked step forward on her first outing for Archie Watson or one of the newcomers is above average.

Good second of 13 in handicap at this C&D (8/1) 15 days ago. This a stronger affair but she's no forlorn hope for each-way purposes.

Verdict

THE PINTO KID has looked a work in progress throughout this season and finally got off the mark over 1m3f here last month. A 4lb rise looks fair for James Fanshawe's gelding and he appears the type to keep on improving. Imperial Court can take a step forward on his handicap debut with Jamie Spencer riding him for the first time, while Special Mission could benefit from the reapplication of blinkers.

Verdict

THE PINTO KID showed improved form to get off the mark in ready fashion over shorter here 23 days ago and he rates the one to side with again given the distinct possibility of more to come. Handicap debutant Imperial Court and Vivernus who has landed 2 of his last 3 starts head up the dangers.

10/1, creditable seventh of 12 in handicap at this C&D 45 days ago. Cheekpieces on for the 1st time.

Verdict

GENERAL ZOFF reversed form with Swordbill when the pair met at Lingfield on his latest start, when clearly benefiting from first-time cheekpieces, and he could strike again if the headgear has the same effect. Seinesational returned to winning form over C&D at the end of last month and is a player if replicating that effort, while others to consider include Encryption and Fitzwilly.

Verdict

FITZWILLY was well clear of the rest when runner-up to a well-treated rival at Newbury last month and seems sure to go well from the same mark back on the all-weather. Cry Wolf and Encryption head the dangers.

Verdict

AGENT OF FORTUNE made it two wins on the bounce when winning at Chelmsford in comfortable fashion by three and a quarter lengths and she can land the hat-trick here being 2lb well in under a penalty. False Id bounced back to form when second at Newcastle at the start of the month and is respected on that effort, while Cool Echo and Amor Fati can fight it out for the minor honours.

Verdict

FALSE ID, who was successful off this mark during the summer, signalled that his turn may again be near when finding just one too strong over a mile at Newcastle a fortnight ago. He will appreciate dropping back in trip and is preferred to the progressive hat-trick seeker Agent of Fortune. Amor Fati and Eternal Destiny are others to consider.

Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 13 in handicap (66/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Makes polytrack debut and blinkers/tongue strap on 1st time. Something to find on form.

Verdict

ZAHIRAH has been running well enough in defeat of late to suggest that she could win a moderate race such as this and the lightly-raced filly may have some improvement left to come. Runaiocht arguably brings the best form to the table but the lack of a recent run is a concern. Gulland Rock and Breathoffreshair are others who merit places on the shortlist.

Verdict

Having returned to form when fourth at Newcastle 2 weeks ago, BREATHOFFRESHAIR could be the answer. He shaped as though the return to 7f would be in his favour and remains on an attractive mark. Zahirah didn't do a great deal wrong at Chelmsford recently and she needs considering, along with Aye Aye Skipper and Caledonia Laird.
