Managed to win a weak race here a year ago but has struggled since and out of the weights here.

Verdict

David Pipe is 11-24 with his runners here in the last five years, and the in-form handler looks to hold outstanding claims of boosting that record here with recent Plumpton winner RED SQUARE REVIVAL. The six-year-old has only gone up 3lb for that cosy success two weeks ago, and shouldn't be deterred by this decent ground. Charlie Mon continues in good form and should be thereabouts, while Fly Home Harry remains capable of better on just his third start for Charlie Longsdon.

Verdict

FLY HOME HARRY came clear with the runner-up when resuming winning ways at Ludlow last time and is taken to follow up at the main expense of Red Square Revival and High Counsel.

Fair maiden on Flat for Giles Bravery (stays 1m), though, below form the last twice in that code, and market should guide on his hurdle/stable debut.

Verdict

A modest seller can go the way of SEARCHING, who may well have needed the outing last time on his first start for over 18 months and did previously have some winning form at Plumpton and Huntingdon. A first-time visor and drop in distance could prove key to the five-year-old, and he can land this before moving onto pastures new. Old Harry Rocks wears first-time cheekpieces but has shown very little in his last two starts, while the unexposed Cooperess is another name to note.

Verdict

OLD HARRY ROCKS is probably better suited to a longer trip, but is hard to oppose dropped significantly in grade. Searching should strip fitter for his return and looks his chief rival.

Scored over hurdles and fences earlier this year and may have needed outing when well held in Wetherby chase on reappearance last month. Returns to hurdling now and not totally discounted.

Verdict

The unexposed DELFACE won well on his first run for the Pipe team when last seen in May when the yard were struggling for the winners, and he looks poised to go close here despite going up in class on his reappearance. An opening handicap mark of 119 doesn't look too harsh, and the son of Della Francesca is fancied to continue his progress. General Ginger likely needed the run last time and should do better here, while Prussian Eagle isn't one to rule out under his excellent claiming rider.

Verdict

HIGH EXPECTATIONS was a real improver on the Flat this summer, scoring 3 times, and was still in contention on his return to this sphere when unseating at Cheltenham last month. He is taken to make amends here. Capitoul and Delface rate the principal dangers.

Useful winner over hurdles who produced a promising first effort in this discipline when just held in novice event at Worcester (16.5f, soft) last week. Holds obvious claims. Tongue strap back on.

Verdict

Tommy Silver was beaten at odds-on in a tactical affair on his chase debut at Worcester last week and is interesting on this better ground just six days later, though he could be booked in for the silver medal once more at the expense of CULTIVATOR. The selection was deemed good enough to run over fences at Cheltenham last month, though his best form comes right-handed and a switch to this venue (alongside its more forgiving obstacles) should suit Nicky Henderson's charge. Boston Blue and Ocean Bentley both arrive with plenty to find.

Verdict

TOMMY SILVER matched his best form over timber when a close second on chase debut at Worcester last week and should take all the beating here. Cultivator was disappointing on his first crack at the larger obstacles last month but may do better yet and is the obvious danger.

Verdict

REALLY SUPER was rated 77 on the Flat for Ralph Beckett at her peak and looks a smart recruit for Amy Murphy. Second on debut for the upcoming handler at Fakenham earlier this month, there was much to like about how she travelled, and the three-year-old has been found a nice opening to get off the mark. Glorvina carries a penalty for an earlier win at Cartmel during the summer, but she does have Richard Johnson on board, while Royal Icon and Shee's Lucky look to be interesting types in this sphere and both merit market checks at least.

Verdict

HILLCREST FIRE was progressive on the level in Ireland and is a half-sister to a couple of winning jumpers, so she could easily be the answer on hurdles bow for a respected yard. Really Super should leave behind the bare form of her opening second in this sphere and is the main danger.

Poor maiden over hurdles/fences.

Verdict

FAIR FRANK was most impressive on his chase debut at Southwell last month, jumping well out in front and staying on strongly over this trip. There should be more to come from this six-year-old and a 6lb rise in the weights might not be enough to halt him under top conditional rider Mitchell Bastyan. Mr Jim is a big player on his comeback if returning in a similar mood to when finishing second at Towcester in May, while Larkhall completes the shortlist.

Verdict

FAIR FRANK left his previous form well behind when making a winning a handicap/chase debut at Southwell last month and can defy a 6 lb rise. Chestnut Ben took a step back in the right direction at Musselburgh recently and is the obvious threat with James Bowen booked.

Runner-up in Irish mares maiden point on debut but has shown poor form over hurdles, including when fourth of 5 at Doncaster (19.4f) in March. Difficult to recommend.

Verdict

SPEED COMPANY looks a smart recruit to the hurdling ranks for John Quinn and he has booked in-form rider Brian Hughes for his jumps bow. Rated as high as 100 on the Flat, this five-timer winner is expected to have been schooled well and could be a class above these rivals. Doc Carver has won a point-to-point and will have learned plenty from his hurdling debut at Bangor, while Melangerie is another to consider closely.

Verdict

MELANGERIE, a dual bumper winner last season, shaped with plenty of promise on hurdling debut at Worcester last month, looking as if just in the need of the run for both experience and fitness, and she earns the vote to open her hurdles account. Doc Carver looks sure to be in the shake-up, while Speed Company is an interesting recruit to hurdles given his useful Flat form.
