Verdict

MATCHMAKING, a typical Sir Mark Prescott three-year-old improver, can continue on a steep upward trajectory. He has improved no end from two to three years and has progressed some 22lb in four starts since going handicapping for the first time at Yarmouth in June. Always doing enough when scoring by just shy of a length at Wolverhampton latest, he can go in again at the main expense of El Borracho and Becky Sharp.

Verdict

MATCHMAKING was merely shaken up to make it 4 in a row at Wolverhampton last time and a further 7 lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent him completing the 5-timer. Last month's Windsor scorer El Borracho could be the one to follow him home.

Promising individual. 5/4, second of 13 in novice at Chelmsford (1m) 36 days ago, clear of rest. Up in trip. Sets a good standard with the prospect of further improvement.

Verdict

SPIRIT OF APPIN has done enough in two starts to suggest a novice race of this nature is well within her grasp and, although she finished a beaten favourite at Chelmsford last time, ran well enough to finish within two lengths of the 99-rated La Figlia. Respectable is improving between runs and should make her presence felt, while La Bass looks the pick of the newcomers.

Verdict

SPIRIT OF APPIN ran to a pretty useful level when pulling 7 lengths clear of the remainder when runner-up on her Chelmsford return and ought to take a bit of stopping with further improvement likely. Salisbury runner-up Respectable is the obvious danger.

9/2, fifth of 7 in novice at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) on debut 80 days ago. Up in trip. Should improve.

Verdict

GLOBAL WARNING performed with plenty of credit when third on debut at Doncaster and, entitled to have improved plenty for the outing and given the fifth has franked the form at Brighton, the son of Poet's Voice could take some stopping. Fearless Warrior boasts a similar profile and must enter calculations, while chances are also given to Wiretap and Power Of Life.

Verdict

There was a lot to like about GLOBAL WARNING's debut third in what was probably a pretty decent race at Doncaster last month and he's the one to beat with more to come. Wiretap, who also contested a good race on his debut, is the choice of Oisin Murphy from the Qatar Racing pair and could be the one to follow Ed Dunlop's charge home.

Verdict

Slipstream is expected to take a step forward now debuting for these connections but QUICK RECOVERY rates as the safest bet. There is something about Lingfield, given she's won on both the all-weather and turf tracks on her two visits, which brings out the best in her and a 5lb rise for her latest triumph might not be enough to halt the Lethal Force filly. Mostly Green rates best of the remainder.

Verdict

SLIPSTREAM has been bought by connections who have a very good record with new recruits and he's taken to strike under Luke Morris. Quick Recovery was back to winning ways over 6f here last week and will be a threat if seeing out the longer trip. The lightly-raced Mostly Green also makes the shortlist after a decent third here last time.

Verdict

No previous winning form to go on, so perhaps ALL BACK TO MINE can go one better than when second off her current mark at Brighton last time. Joseph Tuite's filly is likely to be given most to think about by Devils Roc, who has filled the runner-up spot on her last two starts but a 6lb rise for those efforts is offset by Scott McCullagh's 7lb claim. Global Goddess is potentially well treated off a mark of 60, as is the 55-rated Obaby.

Verdict

DEVILS ROC has gone up 6 lb for her Ffos Las second but that is offset by her rider's claim and she'll surely go close as that Ffos Las run appeals as good form for the level. Sesame is a likely improver now switching to nurseries after a break, while Amazing Fox is another who could easily leave her previous efforts behind now handicapping.

Second of 6 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, good, 14/1) 71 days ago, no match for winner. Best to look elsewhere.

Verdict

Anonymous John sandwiched an all-weather success between two near-misses on turf and gets another chance off the same mark as when beaten just a length at Sandown last month. Porto Ferro won nicely over track and trip two starts ago but failed off her current mark here last time, while Secret Potion was beaten a long way into second at Bath. That leaves VEGAS BOY as the safest option, as he battled well to win narrowly at Windsor last time and is only 4lb higher in this.

Verdict

The most appealing of these is ANONYMOUS JOHN, who was runner-up in a better-class handicap than this at Sandown last time and should prove a tough nut to crack back at this trip off the same mark. Vegas Boy deservedly got his head back in front at Windsor and is likely be thereabouts once again but Desert Fox is marginally preferred for forecast purposes.

Thrice-raced maiden. 100/1, eighth of 9 in minor event at this course (6f, good to firm) 63 days ago. Hard to fancy.

Verdict

Dream For Life had failed to beat a single horse home on her first three starts but left that form well behind when a close-up third at Yarmouth last time, with Petite Fleur six lengths behind her in fourth. Aegean Beauty is interesting on her first start, while Resolution was not disgraced on debut, but preference is for AALIYA. Amy Murphy's filly finished on the heels of the winner when third at Wolverhampton first time out and can build on that promising effort here.

Verdict

A low-grade minor event, and it will be a big surprise if AALIYA doesn't confirm debut promise and land the odds. Dream For Life seemed to show more last time and is probably the one for the forecast spot, ahead of Resolution.
