Made all to win a weak maiden at Southwell in December. Stamina stretched last time and place claims.

Verdict

There is no doubting Flying Pickets is well treated if capable of running to his mark in this claimer. However, Alan McCabe's charge hasn't been putting his best foot forward of late and it might be worth siding with CLEAN BOWLED, a former stablemate of the last-named, who turned over the reopposing Crowning Star in a Wolverhampton claimer last time and now debuts for a new trainer. The selection pulled ten-lengths clear of the field that day and looks the one to be on while his well-being is assured.

Verdict

Clean Bowled thumped Crowning Star at Wolverhampton 9 days ago and can follow up in what looks another good opportunity for him. Flying Pickets may provide the biggest threat.

100,000 gns yearling who produced a promising first effort here (7f) earlier this month, getting the hang of things late to finish second. Sure to progress and has strong claims.

Verdict

ROXELANA ran green on debut here in a 7f event here two weeks ago but is entitled to improve with the benefit of that run behind her now upped to this longer trip. The main danger could be Icelander, whose trainer continues to bang in the winners in maiden races at present. Arte Del Calcio shaped as if 1m would suit when outpaced at Wolverhampton latest and has place claims along with recent C&D fourth Devote Myself.

Verdict

Roxelana shaped well on debut and can open her account stepped up in trip. Debutant Icelander cannot be ignored starting out for top connections, while Arte del Calcio is going the right way and is another to consider.

More exposed that most, but has refound form in 2 starts for new yard, second to Al Freej at Wolverhampton last time. Needs to pull out more to gain belated first success, however.

Verdict

EL MCGLYNN's limitations are plain for all to see as she rolls up in Surrey this afternoon as a 62-rated maiden after nine previous runs. However, the form of her last-time-out second behind Al Freej at Wolverhampton looks the strongest offering in the race and she appears the most likely winner. The Kicking Lord could improve with the benefit of a debut run behind him and is feared most. Available returns from a 123-day break while Arabian Flight looks thoroughly exposed and returns to maiden company after a number of failed handicap outings.

Verdict

Available had excuses when well held on her AW debut last time, and there was much to like about the speed she showed at Leicester on debut, so she gets the call over the exposed El McGlynn.

Improved to win 3 of last 4 starts in 2011, edging out Amitola for the last of them here (7f). Since only fourth to that rival back up to this trip, Mr Willis and Lockantanks also ahead of him.

Verdict

The best race on the card by quite some way which sees the likable LOCKANTANKS and Mr Willis renewing old rivalries after finishing second and third respectively behind Amitola in a C&D event two weeks ago. Both horses want marking up for those efforts in a race not run to suit, and the former is taken to come out on top as he is simply thriving at present and looks the better handicapped of the pair. Fourth behind the aforementioned pair latest, Numeral may be worth another chance over 1m, although, like penalised Kempton scorer Chilli Green, his best efforts to date have come up to 7f. The main danger thus appears to be the progressive Loyalty, who is rarely far away over this trip on polytrack and had the beating of a number of these, including Night Lily and Mia's Boy, on the all-weather in December.

Verdict

Crown Counsel hails from a yard that can do little wrong at present, so looks worth chancing on his return under what is likely to be a front-running ride from Joe Fanning. Mr Willis and Lockantanks are closely matched on their C&D clash a fortnight ago, the pair again likely to play a prominent role.

Quirky sort who won twice at up to 8.5f in Ireland last summer. Yet to fire for this yard, going off too hard when only seventh behind Nubar Boy over C&D last weekend.

Verdict

Nubar Boy gained a long overdue success in 'Round Six' of this series last week and remains competitively handicapped off a 3lb higher rating. Clifford Reprieve is another that doesn't know how to run a bad race. Defeated by just a short-head over the minimum trip here last time, he may improve for the step up to this longer trip, but preferred ahead of both is C&D winner JOE LE TAXI. The selection has been taken (unsuccessfully) to the US, Ireland and Southwell in his quest for a fifth career success in the last twelve months. However, having won off 72 at his peak, it remains only a matter of time until he scoots up off a rating of just 63.

Verdict

Last Saturday's C&D winner Nubar Boy should make a bold bid to follow up, but it's Cliffords Reprieve who is fancied to resume winning ways after running as if this return to further would suit here last time. Joe Le Taxi is dropping in the weights and is another to consider in a trappy race.

Verdict

A chance is taken on RYLEE MOOCH's stamina now he is returned to 6f. Richard Guest's charge has produced his best form to date over 5f but has landed the silver medal twice over this longer trip too and could be ready to cash in on what looks a fair mark, providing he avoids a repeat of the troubles which plagued his start at Kempton latest (unruly in the gates). Hoover was entitled to need his last run upon his return from a six-month break and can battle it out with the well handicapped Waabel for the minor money.

Verdict

Old rivals Captain Dimitrios and Waabel clash again, and David Evans' charge gets the nod given his consistent run of form. My Lord has been contesting claimers, but is on a fair mark for his handicap return, and is another to consider.

A well-bred sort who was found a good opportunity to make a winning debut at Wolverhampton despite greenness. Remains to be seen what that form is worth but still appeals as a big player.

Verdict

CRUNCHED performed creditably when third over the extended 2m at Wolverhampton last time as he would have finished closed had he not met with trouble in running. Tim Pitt's charge could improve for the fitting of first-time blinkers and gets the verdict now dropped in trip. Belle Josephine and Bert The Alert are both worth a market check now making their handicap debuts on the back of last-time-out successes over this trip in maiden company and merit consideration along with Follow The Flag, who ran as well as could have been expected over an inadequate trip latest. Beau Fighter returns to the level on fair mark and cannot be discounted either.

Verdict

Belle Josephine is bound to be popular being a well-bred sort coming off the back of a winning start, but that success did come in a weak maiden and Follow The Flag and Crunched arrive with more solid handicap form. Marginal preference is for the last named, whose style of racing will be suited should this develop into a tactical affair.

Shrugged off rivals to make all in 7.5f maiden at Beverley in May, but left Mark Johnston after next start and went the wrong way, so fair bit to prove on reappearance.

Won 2 handicaps here in early 2011 and signs that his turn wasn't far away when second over C&D last month. Able to race off the same mark and unlikely to be far away.

Made all in a 1m Cork maiden in August 2010, and encouraging start for new yard when fourth at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day. Gone wrong way since, however, and something to prove for now.

Verdict

Daniel Thomas arrives here on a four-timer but an 11lb rise for the latest of his victories could bring his winning sequence to an end. Satwa Laird has been in good form in claimers lately but needs to raise his game to follow up in stronger company here. Both are opposed with THE HAPPY HAMMER, who races off the same mark as when beaten into second by a well handicapped rival over C&D latest (Tiradito and Mishrif back in third and fourth respectively). Push Me is worth a market check now returning from a spell hurdling while there could be better to come from Legal Legacy now he is stepped back up in trip.

Verdict

Plenty of these arrive in good form, none more so than Daniel Thomas, who bids to complete a four-timer. He is respected, but does have a big rise in the weights to contend with, and may be vulnerable to the likes of Legal Legacy and course-specialist The Happy Hammer.
