Shaped encouragingly when fifth of 11 in maiden (10/1) at Goodwood (9.9f, good) on debut last month, nearest finish. Likely to improve, particularly over this longer trip, and is one to consider.

Verdict

The likes of Lady Valdean and So Sleek have to be given the utmost respect but they have both had plenty of chances already and may be vulnerable to an improver. NATHALIE has shown some very encouraging signs in both of her starts to date over 1m2f and, given that she is related to the likes of Duncan and Samuel, the step up in trip should improve her chances today. Tarte Tropezienne is another daughter of Nathaniel who looked like this would be her trip when a staying on fifth at Goodwood last month.

Verdict

This can go to TARTE TROPEZIENNE, who is well-bred and made a promising start to her career at Goodwood last month. She should have learnt plenty from that experience and is just preferred to Nathalie, who will appreciate this longer trip and remains open to improvement. So Sleek is next best.

Left previous form behind, in first-time blinkers, when decisively winning 15-runner handicap at Brighton (9.9f, good, 16/1) 37 days ago. Still on a fair mark and holds strong follow-up claims.

Verdict

BUZZ LIGHTYERE has taken a big step forward since being switched to this yard and he only found one too good in a similar event to this at Brighton earlier in the month. The Richard Hannon-trained pair of About Glory and Fanfair have to be shortlisted following their recent victories, with the latter arguably being the pick of that pair. Betsalottie warrants each-way consideration having finished a place behind the selection last time out.

Verdict

FANFAIR appreciated the step up to this sort of trip last time, opening his account in a Bath handicap. He remains on a workable mark and is taken to follow up here. His stable companion About Glory also arrives on the back of his first success and rates the main danger. Buzz Lightyere should also make his presence felt.

Verdict

THEGLASGOWWARRIOR has certainly improved for the step up in trip and switch to handicap company, as highlighted by his second-placed finishes in two starts last month. He clearly stays the trip well and may be hard to peg back if given an aggressive ride. Mam'selle is thoroughly unexposed and she appeared to find 1m2f sharp enough at Goodwood last time, while Bermondsey Belle is certainly worth considering on her handicap debut.

Verdict

BERMONDSEY BELLE upped her game when runner-up in a maiden at this course last time, and is likely capable of better yet, particularly as her stamina is drawn out further. She can make a winning handicap debut. The Glasgowwarrior and Mam'selle rate the principal dangers.

Newcastle nursery winner last year who has reached the frame on both starts this year, albeit beaten 9 lengths at Sandown latterly. Cheekpieces replace blinkers/visor worn last twice.

Verdict

AYR OF ELEGANCE won twice on the all-weather here earlier in the year and she has not been disgraced in any of her subsequent starts. This is a weaker event than those she has been contesting of late and she should be tough to beat. See And Be Seen often finds himself in the mix but his consistency means that he does not get much help from the handicapper. Fitzwilly is another who should be thereabouts at the business end.

Verdict

FITZWILLY hasn't won for a while but his last 2 efforts suggest he's ready to strike again soon and he can come good with Silvestre De Sousa, who was on board for his last success, back in the saddle. The consistent Ayr of Elegance gets the nod for the forecast spot.

Promising type. Third of 12 in minor event at Kempton (6f, 8/1) on debut 7 days ago, nearest finish. Open to progress.

Verdict

Get Even has been highly tried since she won at Wolverhampton back in April but she was an early type and may be vulnerable today. TRAVELCARD looked in need of the experience when third on debut at Kempton a week ago and should only improve for that outing. Forever In Love is a full-sister to the Listed winner Eternally and any market support would have to be noted.

Verdict

The well-bred Sir Michael Stoute newcomer FOREVER IN LOVE might be up to making a winning start here. Travelcard made a promising start to her career when third at Kempton last week and is likely to go close with improvement likely, while Get Even will find this a bit easier than the listed events she's contested the last twice.

Verdict

TOOTY FRUITTI may have only won a seller at Wolverhampton earlier in the month but she proved that was no fluke by finishing a close second at the same track last week. She was 3lb badly in on the latest of those occasions due to a 6lb penalty but she can race off her proper mark today. Camino has to be respected following her brighton win, while Mercers should appreciate the return to the all-weather.

Verdict

TOOTY FRUITTI is 4 lb lower than when going close at Wolverhampton last week so stands a good chance of going one better here under John Egan. Last month's Brighton winner Camino also merits respect along with Ask The Guru, who was a good second at Bath recently.

Verdict

A tricky race to close the card but the marginal preference is for SEPRANI, who went close in a couple of 7f handicaps here earlier in the year. She was far from disgraced when third at Brighton last month, given the four-month break, and the daughter of Sepoy has already proven that she can be competitive off this mark. Zavikon will be a big danger if transferring her recent turf improvement to the all-weather. Those looking for each-way alternatives should consider Kings Heart and Billy's Boots.

Verdict

ZAVIKON is going the right way now and is taken to defy his 4 lb rise for winning at Windsor. Kings Heart and Seprani look best of the others.
