Won at Brighton and over C&D in second half of 2011, but been disappointing in 3 runs this term, failing to beat a rival over C&D last time. Best left alone until showing more positive signs.

Verdict

A typically trappy Lingfield sprint handicap but a sound case can be made for LADY MANGO, who returned to form when a good second over this trip at Kempton last time. Although upped 3lb for that effort, she remains well enough handicapped and this looks a slightly easier race if anything. Super Frank comes into this in good form and is expected to figure closely again, with Kempton runner-up Amazing Win and the consistent Blueberry Fizz also respected.

Verdict

The maidens Lady Mango and Blueberry Fizz are entitled to go close, but both are passed over in favour of Avonvalley, who won in January and has shaped better than the result on her last 2 outings.

Verdict

MOTTLEY CREWE doesn't find winning easy but he has proved an admirable model of consistency this winter, running well in a number of decent handicaps both on this surface and on the fibresand at Southwell. This represents a marked drop in class and at these weights, he should prove much too strong for the 57-rated Decider. Pharoh Jake can edge out Toms River Tess for third spot.

Verdict

A seemingly straightforward task for Mottley Crewe, who beat his main rival Decider on much less favourable terms over C&D last time.

Verdict

DOROTHY'S DANCING has been promising to come good form a while now and finally delivered the goods when readily accounting for Amazing Win over 6f at Kempton last time. A 4lb rise in the weights for that success seems fair and already a dual C&D winner, she should have no problems reverting to the minimum distance. Recent Wolverhampton victor Prigsnov Dancer and Deveze are feared most.

Verdict

Dorothy's Dancing bounced back to form last time, and this dual C&D winner can follow up from a 4 lb higher mark. Prigsnov Dancer must show he can back up his reappearance win, and Deveze may prove the biggest threat.

Verdict

Devote Myself has displayed fair form in three starts so far and ought to go well again with similar sentiments applying to Wolverhampton runner-up Hikma. The latter represents the in-form Mark Johnston stable so seems sure to prove popular while an improved effort form Morilles would not surprise. However, despite showing tell tale signs of inexperience, BARBARELLA BLUE made a debut full of promise when third at Kempton in January and given the level of market confidence behind her chance on that occasion, she might be one to keep faith with.

Verdict

Barbarella Blue shaped with plenty of promise on her debut at Kempton and is fancied to take this. Devote Myself and Hikma complete the shortlist.

Shaped well on various occasions in Irish turf handicaps last year, but low-key start for new yard on polytrack, last both starts at Saint Moritz last month.

Verdict

AMITOLA accounted for Mr Willis (third), Numeral (fourth) and Shifting Star (sixth) when scoring with authority over C&D four weeks ago and a 3lb rise looks fair given the manner of that victory. David Barron's mare is taken to complete the double but may be given plenty to think about by the progressive Forceful Appeal, who built on his maiden win when following up over this C&D and although up in class and 4lb in the handicap now, he looks the sort to continue improving. Mr Willis should have his say again but looks in the handicapper's grip at present.

Verdict

Plenty worthy of consideration in this open handicap, but the 2 races George Guru has contested at Kempton have worked out well, and he can defy his new mark. Numeral and the returning First Post are feared most.

Front runner who has won on 2 of his 4 visits here this year. Had run of race when third last time, but likely to continue in form.

Verdict

Eagle Nebula's recent form in C&D sellers makes him one to consider on his handicap return, while Broughtons Paradis has been knocking hard on the door in similar event and looks sure to have her say, likewise Kames Park. Preference, however, is for MASLAK, who didn't get home over 1m5f here latest but made all over C&D the time before. He is 4lb higher now but has won off much higher marks in the past and could get an easy time of things out in front today.

Verdict

Broughtons Paradis has been in good form this winter and can gain a deserved success. Kames Park and Eagle Nebula are others ticking over nicely and won't be far away.

Verdict

The step up in trip and switch to handicaps worked the oracle for NEWS DESK, as John Gosden's filly opened her account with authority over this C&D last month. Further progress beckons and with the runner-up boosting the form emphatically since, a 6lb rise may not be enough to prevent Robert Havlin's mount completing the double. Priestley's Reward also scored over this trip latest but that was in a claimer and he has no margin for error on his handicap return, so a bigger threat may be posed by Arte Del Calcio. The latter has looked in need of further in his three decent qualifying runs over 7f and 1m and the handicapper doesn't appear to have been overly harsh with an initial mark of 67.

Verdict

News Desk looked to have plenty in hand when scoring over C&D last month and can go in again, though several other unexposed sorts will ensure it's not easy, Arte del Calcio and King's Wharf both interesting on their handicap debuts.
