Fairly useful on Flat for Mick Channon. Prominent in the betting but lost touch 4 out on hurdles debut at Fakenham in November.

Verdict

LOOK MY WAY has an official rating of 90 on the Flat and he bumped into another useful recruit when finishing second on his hurdles debut last month. That form is clearly the best on offer and it will be disappointing if the son of Pour Moi were to be beaten. The main threat is likely to be Sommervieu, who showed ability in his native France and he was out of his depth in a Grade 2 on his debut for these connections. Others to consider are Etoo Sport and Lord County.

Verdict

This should be a straightforward task for useful Flat recruit LOOK MY WAY after a promising hurdling debut at Newcastle last month. Sommervieu was thrown in the deep end for his British debut and this ought to reveal more, while Mirzam is clearly thought capable of better in this sphere.

Bought for €80,000 after making a winning point debut in April and promise when placed in a bumper and novice hurdle for new yard. Yet another who can't be discounted.

Verdict

Jet Set edges out Spider's Bite and The Dellercheckout to be the pick of those with hurdling experience based on her second-placed finish at Doncaster. That said, the preference is for PECULIAR PLACES, who cost connections 100,000 pounds back in June following his run in a Market Rasen bumper. The son of Presenting then won at Hereford in November and looks sure to be suited by this kind of test. Indian Hawk bolted up in a British point-to-point last May and he was subsequently purchased for 110,000 pounds.

Verdict

An interesting race featuring a few promising sorts. INDIAN HAWK cost plenty on the back of point win last spring and gets the nod to make a successful start for Nicky Henderson but there are numerous possible dangers. Victarion and Peculiar Places showed promise in bumpers and are respected now hurdling, while Copper West and The Dellercheckout look capable of better still.

Record over hurdles mixed and she was definitely suited by the way the race developed when scoring on chase bow at Southwell (15.7f) 4 weeks ago. This looks a much tougher assignment.

Verdict

COPAIN DE CLASSE shaped with plenty of encouragement when third on chase debut at Ascot behind the progressive Benatar and remains on the same handicap mark here with conditions to suit. Exitas looks to be in the grip of the handicapper but is very consistent and should run his usual solid race, while Tree Of Liberty is an interesting runner for Kerry Lee making his chase debut having possessed some solid form over timber.

Verdict

COPAIN DE CLASSE shaped with plenty of promise on his respective chase debut at Ascot in November, putting it up to dual subsequent scorer Benatar for most of the way before the lack of a recent run told. He's an exciting prospect going forward and can make it second time lucky. This is a race with some depth though, with Joueur Bresilien and Sister Sybil both respected.

Long time since she showed any worthwhile form. Miles out of the handicap.

Long time since she showed any worthwhile form. Miles out of the handicap.

Verdict

ELLENS WAY was an easy winner on her latest outing at Fontwell just eight days ago and connections have shrewdly taken the option of coming out under a penalty as she would be rated 5lb higher if running off her new rating. Braventara returns to 3m for her handicap debut and looks capable of improvement off her mark, while Fille Des Champs can prove better than what she showed last time at Chepstow.

Verdict

ELLENS WAY won comfortably at Fontwell on Boxing Day and a penalty may not stop her if this doesn't come too soon for her. Sainte Ladylime has jumping issues over fences but is respected back hurdling with James Bowen taking a handy 5 lb off, while Tambura has performed with credit on both outings this term and was runner-up over C&D last term.

Verdict

HEDGEINATOR was brave in defeat when bumping into Sandown specialist Pete The Feat at the Esher track last month but he can make amends here with the talented James Bowen back in the saddle and running from the same mark. It's A Steal was beaten a long way at Taunton but is still nicely treated, while the main opposition may be provided by Jack Snipe, who was running a blinder before he unseated Robert Hawker at Plumpton last month.

Verdict

JACK SNIPE found first-time blinkers having a positive effect and was in the process of running well when departing last time. He gets the nod in a moderate contest. Hedgeinator is firmly back on track judged on his latest second at Sandown, and he looks a big player off the same mark.

Shaped encouragingly on debut at Hereford last month. Looks ready for a step up in trip/jumps even at this early stage.

Verdict

Kim Bailey has a 50% strike-rate in this sphere at this venue over the past five years and his pair Sea Story and Lady Of The Night must be considered, especially the former who unseated her rider in unfortunate circumstances on her racecourse bow over track and trip last month. However, Nicky Henderson often starts off his highly thought of youngsters at this course and his mare SIMONIA can land the spoils. A half-sister to both Simonsig and Drumcliff, the daughter of Yeats could have a bright future ahead of her. Angel Moon can't be ruled out for the in-form Fergal O'Brien, while Cheeky Chica didn't let anyone down when second on her debut at Huntingdon and should be better for it.

Verdict

SIMONIA hails from a good family that includes several bumper winners, notably the high-class Simonsig, and she's taken to make a successful start for Nicky Henderson. Angel Moon is another likely type first time up for Fergal O'Brien, while Brushed Up may figure again having scored here last month.
