Modest form over hurdles to date, never involved at Southwell last time, but still early days with new yard and too soon to rule out, especially now dropped into a claimer.

Verdict

INIESTA has been in really good form of late and followed up his Stratford success with a good third at Huntingdon last time. He should mount another bold bid and is preferred to Royal Beekeeper, who was far from disgraced at Southwell recently and should find this company easier. Stuccodor is on the downgrade but might be able to figure here.

Verdict

INIESTA was only beaten by a couple of classier rivals in a similar event last time, and another bold bid seems likely. Royal Beekeeper is going the right way despite having a suspect attitude, while Sandy Cove shouldn’t be ruled out for his up-and-coming handler now pitched into a claimer.

Set to go close (2 lengths down) when falling last in Bangor handicap chase in May. Never a factor on last week's return over hurdles but he should step up on that. 5 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

Polo The Mumm ran well over hurdles at Taunton last time and won't be fazed by the switch to fences, while Legal Ok turned in a better effort when second here recently and is another to seriously consider. However, slight preference is for RED SQUARE REVIVAL, who wasn't at his best last time but looked really good when winning easily at Plumpton previously. He should have plenty more to offer and is worth sticking with.

Verdict

Following a pleasing reappearance over hurdles last month, POLO THE MUMM should be spot on for this and he looks an attractive proposition given he has a lower chase mark to exploit. Red Square Revival is back over a more suitable trip and is a big threat, while chasing could be the making of Clondaw Rigger.

Four-time winner over hurdles (including here) and looks to be working her way back to full fitness, but is no more than averagely treated nowadays (also 2 lb out of the weights).

Verdict

MIDNIGHT JAZZ was very highly tried last year and ran Vroum Vroum Mag very close in Grade Two company at Doncaster back in January. She drops in class for today's reappearance and should be able to concede weight to these inferior rivals, with Maria's Benefit the only one to fear. The latter comes into this chasing the hat-trick following wins at Newton Abbot and Sandown and she is certainly on the upgrade. Late Night Lily rates best of the rest.

Verdict

MARIA'S BENEFIT has a likeable way of going about things, and this improving mare is taken to overcome a 10 lb rise and complete the hat-trick. Neither Giveaway Glance nor Late Night Lily were at the top of their game in listed company last time, but are capable of bouncing back.

Best away from the mud and scored 3 times in first campaign over fences last term. Better for return when resuming winning ways at Kempton and player if rain stays away.

Verdict

DUELING BANJOS was far from disgraced when running well in a fiercely competitive Cheltenham handicap last month and he remains a progressive young chaser. Another who appears to be on the upgrade is Audacious Plan, winner of his last two starts and only up 5lb for his recent Sedgefield success in the Durham National. Kempton scorer Better Days and Moss On The Mill are others worth considering.

Verdict

AUDACIOUS PLAN has looked back to his best since joining this yard and should make a bold bid for the hat-trick, especially with most of his rivals having something to prove. Dueling Banjos should be in the mix again, while claims can also be made for stablemates Wicked Willy and Better Days.

Verdict

MR MIX pulled-up in the Badger Ales Trophy when last sighted but is competing in calmer waters here. He makes strong appeal on his previous victory at Wincanton and is expected to give a good account on these terms under highly promising conditional Bryony Frost. Resolution Bay has performed with credit in defeat at Plumpton and Taunton since switching to fences though Gayebury, a Listed winner over hurdles, is feared most.

Verdict

GAYEBURY hasn't come back this season in much form, but he could prove a different proposition now switched to fences, and he earns a tentative vote with both Mr Mix and Resolution Bay having question marks over their jumping.

Verdict

SCHNABEL posted a career-best performance when second over the extended 2m3f at Hereford last time and is expected to improve again for this step back up in trip. Parlour Maid still had something to offer when brought down two out at Uttoxeter last time and appears fairly treated, while Winido, who has shown a lack of respect to his obstacles in falling at Huntingdon and Chepstow the last twice, could feasibly figure if staying on his feet.

Verdict

SCHNABEL produced a career best under a more positive ride when runner-up at Hereford last week and has obvious claims off the same mark. Parlour Maid is feared most ahead of Winido.

Proclamation mare. Dam, ran once over hurdles, 1½m-17f winner on Flat. Pulled up sole start in points but did at least show something when fifth on bumper debut in May. Jump forward required here.

Verdict

Philip Hobbs' SPIRIT OF MENDIP is out of an unraced dam who is a relative of Balthazar King and is expected to give a good account on her racecourse bow. There was promise to take from the debut performances of Lilliput Lane and Chequered View and both could feasibly finish on the premises here. Newcomer Sea Story represents stable in form and is also worth a market check to ascertain the level of confidence behind her chances.

Verdict

SPIRIT OF MENDIP makes plenty of appeal on paper and could be worth chancing to make a winning debut, admittedly without the benefit of market clues. Lilliput Lane and Chequered View both showed ability on their respective debuts and are feared though, whilst another newcomer Sea Story is worth a second look for the in-form Kim Bailey stable.
