Verdict

IDILICO made a winning start for Ian Williams when landing a similar contest at Uttoxeter last time and even though he carries a penalty, the French recruit rates the one to beat with the prospect of further improvement in the pipeline for his new stable. Alan King's Our Power was successful on the Flat over the summer and should know his job now making his NH bow. Banksy's Art, another Flat recruit, looks best of the rest.

Verdict

IDILICO justified strong support to make a winning hurdles debut at Uttoxeter last month, that despite some indifferent jumping. He ought to have derived plenty from that and can defy a penalty. Market support for Alan King's Our Power would have to be taken seriously, however.

Improved again when third of 12 in a Warwick bumper in February. Bred to do better over obstacles up in trip so is worth a check for market confidence.

Verdict

FESTIVAL DAWN turned in a creditable performance on her return from an absence when second at Chepstow recently and should be thereabouts on these terms if running to her official rating of 121. Annie Mc finished third behind the selection in Wales on her first outing for Jonjo O'Neill and is the one expected to put up most resistance. Outofthisworld won a bumper here last year and may also be worth another chance, having unseated her rider early on here latest.

Verdict

FESTIVAL DAWN sets a pretty good standard on her brace of runner-up efforts 8 months apart and is clearly capable of winning a race against her own sex. Annie MC wasn't far behind the selection at Chepstow and is an obvious threat, while Shantung is bred to relish this trip now hurdling.

Thrived for the switch to chasing this summer, making it 3 wins from 4 starts at Chepstow recently, albeit granted the run of the race. Still, she's worth her place in this better company.

Verdict

CASABLANCA MIX failed to justify favouritism on her handicap bow at Kempton recently but she is entitled to come on for that outing and go well on these terms now moving into Listed company. Thriving handicapper Atlanta Ablaze is respected in her current mood and will relish the step back up from 2m5f, though a bigger danger at the weights may be Drinks Interval, who bolted up from the front in a novice chase at Chepstow recently.

Verdict

CASABLANCA MIX is still unexposed over fences and, having shaped well when runner-up on return at Kempton last month, she is fancied to step up again now tackling listed level. Drinks Interval has enjoyed a fine start to the campaign and is feared, ahead of Rons Dream.

Just modest form for Charles Whittaker in 2016-17 but created a good impression on belated return for new yard when making winning chase bow at Bangor last week. Obvious claims under a penalty.

Verdict

Both of FORGOT TO ASK's career victories have come under Noel George and the six-year-old is fancied to make his chasing debut a winning one under the young rider. Bred for this stiffer 3m test, he represents a handler who is 6-18 with chasers here in the last five years and makes more appeal than Elkstone, who has won three of his last five over fences (including once here). The Two Amigos has gone up 12lb for a runaway Newton Abbot success last time on heavy ground.

Verdict

SOME CHAOS was much improved when easily making a winning chase debut for new connections at Bangor 9 days ago after 20 months off and has obvious claims under a penalty if this doesn't come too soon. The Two Amigos is feared most after his impressive start over fences at Newton Abbot.

Verdict

SHOW'S OVER looks attractively handicapped on his best efforts and made a promising stable debut for Fergal O'Brien at Bangor last month behind an Olly Murphy-trained horse who has since won twice to boost the form. Heavenly Promise has won two of her last three but arrives here following a 173-day break and may just need the run, while Mariners Moon is consistent at this sort of level and shouldn't be too far away.

Verdict

SHOW'S OVER produced a promising first effort for this yard when second at Bangor and remains on a handy mark if building on that. Heavenly Promise was in good form when last seen in the spring and is feared most.

Fair winner on the Flat and largely going the right way over hurdles. Runner-up on handicap bow at Stratford (19f) last month and shaped as if still in good form at Carlisle since. High on shortlist.

Verdict

A few of these weren't at their best last time out, including Lady Maleficent, who represents a trainer with a good record here, and Aldrin, who did it well at Worcester in September but could only finish sixth at Huntingdon three weeks ago. His stablemate MALANGEN has shown a nice attitude over hurdles so far and carries a low weight here due to him being a three-year-old. He has shown enough to win one of these and remains on a workable mark.

Verdict

MALANGEN shaped as if still in good form at Carlisle last time and could prove the answer against largely exposed opposition. One who doesn't fall into that bracket is Mick Channon's Bard of Brittany, who could have more to offer now handicapping and is a possible threat. Stonecoldsoba was backed last time only to unseat before the race began in earnest and he's also respected under Daryl Jacob.
