Verdict

The first of two potentially informative maidens towards next year and the standout contender looks to be UAE KING. Roger Varian's son of Frankel is bred to be a top performer from a family his owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid knows very well having owned the dam Zomaradah, an Italian Oaks winner, who produced his half-brother, three times Group 1 winner and top sire Dubawi. Uptown Funk is another well-related newcomer coming from a family of stout stayers including Forever Now, while others to consider include a full-brother to Hunter's Light in Sea Skimmer, Deep Music, a full-brother to a Japanese Oaks winner in Mikki Queen, and Weloof, who is out of a Listed placed performer.

Verdict

No surprise if the newcomers dominate with Dubawi's half-brother UAE KING topping the list. Sea Skimmer, Deep Music and Uptown Funk are other likely types in what is traditionally a strong maiden.

Verdict

FIREFRIGHT sets a strong standard on his third at Doncaster behind Mubtasim and this looks a good opportunity to get his head in front at the fourth attempt. Mostahel makes a fair amount of appeal on breeding, being a full-brother to dual King's Stand Stakes winner Equiano, and he should give a decent account along with Yalawin, who is also a fairly related individual for a yard doing well with their two-year-olds.

Verdict

FIREFRIGHT produced his best effort to date when third in a valuable sales race at Doncaster last month, noted doing good work at the finish. He sets the standard here and gets the nod to make it fourth-time lucky. Parfait has had excuses since his debut and is feared, while Mostahel, Bay Watch and Yalawin are a trio of interesting newcomers and need monitoring in the market.

Verdict

SOUND BAR took a big step forward from his debut when runner-up at Leicester behind Emmausand and the son of Oasis Dream should benefit from the extra furlong here. Roger Varian saddles another Frankel colt in Commander, a half-brother to Group 1 winner Regal Parade, who should go well for the China Horse Club, while Eagle Creek looks a threat being a half-brother to Dee Stakes winner Viren's Army.

Verdict

COMMANDER cost plenty as a yearling and could hardly make any more appeal on pedigree, so he's taken to add to his sire's incredible record with debutants this season at the expense of Eagle Creek, another interesting newcomer. Sound Bar is the one with form in the book, but it's unlikely he'll have the class of the aforementioned pair.

Verdict

ENTSAR had shown promise in maidens before getting off the mark on handicap debut at Lingfield last month and a 5lb rise for that performance seems very fair for a progressive filly. Kullu built on her debut when winning at Pontefract and the step up in trip should benefit the daughter of Oasis Dream, while Alyday ran better last time at York and is entitled to improve for the extra two furlongs with Andrea Atzeni taking over in the saddle.

Verdict

Plenty to consider but SOMETHINGTHRILLING caught the eye for a long way when fourth in a big field at Ascot last time and this longer trip should suit better if anything. Kullu, Blind Faith and Lorelina head the dangers.

Progressive at 2 yrs, completing hat-trick in nursery at Newmarket (7f) 13 months ago. Essentially looked in the grip of the assessor judged on 4 starts this time around, however.

Verdict

CLOUDBERRY is unbeaten in three outings this season, including two wins on the Polytrack at Kempton, and looks to have more to offer off his current handicap mark of 84. Flyboy has become fairly frustrating to follow but is of interest with the first-time cheekpieces which should eke out further improvement, while Feed The Goater appreciated the step back up to a mile at Chelmsford and has to enter calculations off just 4lb higher.

Verdict

CLOUDBERRY showed a great attitude when completing the hat-trick at Sandown last month and may have more to give yet. He is fancied to continue his winning run. Feed The Goater and Zzoro may give him most to think about.

Latest win at Wolverhampton in April. Respectable efforts of late without leaving the impression there's much in hand, so cheekpieces will have to bring about improvement.

Made winning reappearance in Salisbury maiden in May. Has generally held form well since, benefitting from blinkers at Epsom last time, so expect another solid showing.

Responded well to fitting of cheekpieces when winning at Sandown (1m) in July and beaten narrowly up in trip there following month. Not at best the last twice and looks vulnerable here.

Wasn't disgraced at Sandown last month but the chances are she's being prepped for another AW campaign, better on that surface after all.

Notched third win of 2016 at Ffos Las (7.5f) last month. Not disgraced at Hamilton since but she's very much established as a soft/heavy-ground performer, so could do with some rain.
