Remains a maiden after 22 Flat starts and is hard to make a strong case for. 3 lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

LUV U WHATEVER sets the recent form standard in this opener following two good seconds over 1m4f and shaped like this extra furlong would suit at Doncaster earlier in the month. He is preferred to Take Two, who looked in need for further when staying on for third over 1m2f here last time out, and Elusive Cowboy, who returns to the level on a handy-looking mark and fit from a recent spin over timber.

Verdict

MEYANDI has scope for improvement after only a trio of career starts and is bred to appreciate this stiffer test of stamina. Luv U Whatever and Jersey Jewel may give him most to think about.

Verdict

TATHMEEN sets the standard on those with form in the book with his third behind July Stakes fourth Invincible Lady at Newmarket last month. Richard Hannon's charge looks to be improving between runs and wasn't disgraced on debut at Goodwood either when he bumped into subsequent Chesham Stakes third Masar. Qayes makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and ran in a warm Newmarket maiden on his introduction, for which he's entitled to have come on plenty, while Reverberation and Dazzle Gold are others to note.

Verdict

TATHMEEN progressed from his first run and probably has more to offer, so he is likely to be on the premises, though John Gosden's Qayes is surely capable of better, and the same applies to another once-raced colt Dazzle Gold.

Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 12 in minor event at Kempton (6f, 33/1) 15 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Plenty to find on form.

Verdict

Following a good second in a valuable seller at York, THE LOVE DOCTOR was only reeled in late on by a class-dropper over this trip on good to soft at Pontefract earlier this month and finished well clear of the remainder. Off the same mark and with a first-time visor applied, he is taken to go one better at the main expense of Miss Mo Brown Bear. The latter produced a consistent level of form in her three maidens and seemed to run up to her mark of 71 when a half-length third in a similar nursery at Doncaster a week ago. Fast ground winners Branscombe and Alaska would have claims if conditions dry out.

Verdict

This can go to MISS MO BROWN BEAR, who proved her effectiveness on this sort of ground when a good third on handicap debut at Doncaster last week. She is preferred to The Love Doctor and Branscombe.

1 win from 3 runs this year. Latest win at Newmarket in May. Creditable fifth of 9 in handicap at Kempton (11f, 11/4) 15 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Verdict

Following a maiden success on soft ground at Carlisle, there was plenty to like about Charlie Appleby's PILGRIM'S TREASURE when a good second on a quick surface over this C&D and pulled well clear of the third. The Godolphin representative is up 3lb for that but has scope for plenty of further improvement after only four starts and is versatile with regards to underfoot conditions. Flying North is another improver and went close to a handicap double off a 2lb lower mark at Leicester latest, but the biggest danger may be Big Tour in the same colours as the selection. Saeed bin Suroor's inmate made it third time lucky when dominating a 1m maiden at Windsor and an opening mark of 82 looks fair.

Verdict

PIVOINE remains open to improvement and has left the impression in a couple of outings this term that he is ready for a step up to this sort of trip. He is fancied to resume winning ways. Big Tour and Pilgrim's Treasure head the list of dangers.

Created excellent impression when making a winning debut at Wolverhampton (8.6f) in March. Disappointed on handicap bow at Salisbury subsequently but it's still early days.

Verdict

The royal blue of Godolphin are well represented again here courtesy of FINISHING TOUCH, a winner over 1m on debut at York before being far from disgraced in third behind a winner who got the run of the race up front in a handicap at HQ. A tongue tie is applied today and Saeed bin Suroor's filly could be worth sticking with. That said, Cheerfilly arrives on the back of two emphatic 7f victories at Leicester and looks set for another bold bid under a 6lb penalty with the step up back up trip no concern. Salamah was out of her depth in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot but should find this more to her liking.

Verdict

York maiden winner FINISHING TOUCH didn't quite progress as expected on handicap debut at Newmarket earlier this month, but wasn't suited by the steady gallop on that occasion and is given another chance here. The hat-trick seeking Cheerfilly is the obvious danger.

Verdict

ZUMRAN has looked a very well handicapped filly this year, readily exploiting a mark of 63 at Doncaster two starts back before she sluiced up off 7lb higher three weeks later at Nottingham. The daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar goes up in class for this assignment, but it is difficult to get away from her progressive profile and the hat-trick seeker is officially 2lb well-in at the weights under a 6lb penalty for her latest success. Think Fashion got off the mark at Windsor latest and arrives here full of confidence, while chances can also be given to Beck And Call and Island Cloud.

Verdict

ZUMRAN is really thriving for her new yard, finding further improvement when scoring for this pilot at Nottingham last week. Already proven with cut in the ground, she is fancied to continue her winning run. Peace Dreamer and Beck And Call also arrive in fine form and are solid alternatives.

Verdict

SAMARMADI made a debut full of promise when winning at Doncaster at the beginning of the month and was only narrowly denied on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton. He kept on towards the line over 6f that day, suggesting the step up in trip would suit, and is well worth another look here reverting to turf off an unchanged mark (officially 3lb well-in at the weights). The more experienced pair of Gunmaker and Lucky Louie are expected to put up most resistance.

Verdict

Doncaster maiden winner SAMARMADI only just failed to make a successful handicap bow at Wolverhampton last time and looks sure to be suited by this longer trip. He should take plenty of beating. Gunmaker and Lucky Louie can fight it out for the minor honours.
