Verdict

CULPABILITY appreciated the step up from a mile when scoring over this trip at Chelmsford, seemingly benefitting from the fitting of blinkers as well, and is expected to give another good account in the retained headgear. Native Appeal was only narrowly beaten at Lingfield, despite hanging, and should be thereabouts if putting it all in at the finish. Guvenor's Choice, who has recently undergone wind surgery, is also worth a market check.

Verdict

CULPABILITY appeals as the type to go on improving, having left his debut effort well behind when landing a minor event at Chelmsford last month. He got the better of a Godolphin colt on that occasion and may repeat the dose here, with the Charlie Appleby-trained Native Appeal feared most ahead of Guvenor's Choice, who looks vulnerable under a penalty, and newcomer Strictly Magic.

Second of 9 in handicap at this C&D (100/1) 13 days ago, but looks set to struggle from 26 lb out of the weights.

Verdict

TIME TO BLOSSOM took a keen hold when stepped up to 1m6f at Chelmsford, but she had previously won over 1m4f at Kempton and, now 4lb higher, she is taken to return to winning ways in the hope she'll settle better now dropped back in trip. Henpecked has been raised 4lb for scoring over track and trip when last sighted but is considered the main danger ahead of Eyes On Asha, who won here over 1m on debut.

Verdict

TIME TO BLOSSOM failed to deliver when upped to 14f at Chelmsford 3 weeks ago but she did the job well at Kempton previously and, with this drop back in trip a good move, she is taken to resume winning ways. Eyes On Asha needs to raise her game a notch and the C&D handicap Henpecked won recently wasn't a particularly strong race, therefore Mystikana rates the main danger.

8/1, didn't need to improve to win 8-runner handicap at this course (6f) 12 days ago, suited by emphasis on stamina. This is tougher.

Verdict

A cracking turnout for this valuable midweek pot and the vote goes to HEAVEN'S GUEST, who ended a long losing run, despite of the drop back to 6f here last time. Richard Fahey's eight-year-old remains fairly treated on his best form after a 2lb rise and will relish the step back up in trip. Likeable front-runner Swift Approval looks the pick of the Stuart Williams pair, while recent C&D scorer Amazour has plenty more to offer. Hat-trick seeker What's The Story is expected to go close again, while the handicapper has given My Target a chance and he's another worth a market check.

Verdict

WHAT'S THE STORY made it 2-2 in 2017 with a thoroughly decisive victory on his handicap bow at Doncaster in November. He's gone up 8 lb for that and is unproven on this surface, but there may be more to come from this 4-y-o and he could be equal to the task. Brittanic is expected to reverse last month's C&D placings with Amazour and emerge as the main danger. Holiday Magic makes each-way appeal.

Useful colt. 15/2, respectable 1½ lengths sixth of 12 to Abel Handy in Cornwallis Stakes at Newmarket (5f, good to firm). Off 131 days. Makes tapeta debut and claims if taking to this surface.

Verdict

STONE OF DESTINY made a winning debut over 6f here last month and it is interesting to see David Simcock pitch him into this Fast-Track Qualifier second time out. He's seemingly held in high regard, is expected to improve for the drop back in trip, and he has Jamie Spencer in the plate once more. 103-rated Roger Varian inmate To Wafij makes plenty of appeal on his Molecomb third, while Sirenia Stakes runner-up Corinthia Knight must also enter calculations.

Verdict

CORINTHIA KNIGHT has barely put a foot wrong in his 10-race career and was nicely on top at the finish at Kempton last time. He looks rock-solid at this level and should prove a tough nut to crack. Lake Volta brings some decent Group/listed form to the table and has to be feared, while Stone of Destiny looked very promising when making a winning debut here and shouldn't be underestimated.

Verdict

CASEY JONES was off the mark at the first time of asking when scoring over 7f here earlier in the month and is expected to build on that performance now granted this additional furlong. Kripke is improving between runs and could feasibly take another forward step now venturing beyond 7f for the first time. The pick of the remainder may be Hugo Palmer's Lovely Approach, who is expected to give a good account first time out.

Verdict

If the market vibes surrounding newcomer LOVELY APPROACH are positive the hint should be taken. Indeed, he looks the part on paper and represents a yard more than capable of readying one first time out. Kripke failed by a whisker at Southwell last month and he has to be feared, along with Casey Jones, who made a winning start to his career here recently and should have more to offer.

Verdict

LOST AT SEA went down by a head over track and trip when last sighted and should remain competitive following a 3lb rise, so is considered the most likely winner. Ifubelieveindreams showed this mark isn't beyond her when beaten by under a length at Lingfield in November and could be tough to keep out of the frame. It will be interesting to see if a drop in grade can revitalise Glory Awaits, who held his own off higher marks in stronger races on turf last summer.

Verdict

The vote goes to IFUBELIEVEINDREAMS, who improved when runner-up back in handicap company at Chelmsford in November. She still has low mileage and makes plenty of appeal off the same mark. Zabeel Star will be a threat if he puts his best foot forward and Mutarakez is also feared on debut for Ruth Carr.
