Verdict

GALLIFREY made her debut here at Gosforth Park some 12 months ago when chasing home the brilliant Enable and she has since proved herself a useful performer in handicaps, hitting the frame on numerous occasions. She came unstuck in Listed company last time, but the return to this venue can see the Sir Percy filly make a long awaited return to the winner's enclosure. Wishing Well was a worthy winner in the summer when last seen and is entitled to go well if this drop in trip doesn't prove too sharp. Mustaaqeem and Royal Reserve are others to consider.

Verdict

Providing he copes with this step up in trip, X RATED could be the answer. Mark Johnston's charge wasn't beaten at all far in a stronger race than this on penultimate start at Kempton, and is now just 2 lb above his last winning mark. Royal Reserve and Mustaaqeem may emerge as the main dangers.

Verdict

Photonics showed plenty of promise when second over this course and distance on debut and was subsequently well backed for a competitive event at York subsequently. Things didn't go to plan that day and he again faltered on his return to the Gosforth synthetics last time so now has plenty of questions to answer. Similar sentiments apply to Sunbreak who was disappointing when bidding for the hat-trick last time, though he looks much more suited to an all-weather surface. A chance is taken on James Tate's SHARP REMINDER, who shaped like a mile would suit when second here over 7f and there was plenty of encouragement to take from his first effort at the distance at Kempton last time. The first-time blinkered Bold Reason is another who must be considered from the head of the handicap.

Verdict

The really interesting one is PAPA STOUR, who took a step forward when fourth in a Dundalk maiden and makes his handicap bow/debut for new yard off what could turn out to be a lenient mark. Grace's Secret shaped well at Lingfield and, likely to benefit from this step up in trip, she's a live danger. Far Dawn and Sunbreak are others to consider, while Sioux Frontier also merits respect.

Verdict

ARMED RESPONSE can make a winning return to the scene of his victory last time and the track and trip winner can land a third two-year-old triumph for Middleham maestro Jedd O' Keeffe. Move It Move It has proved to be a useful youngster this term and a return to six furlongs could see him go one better than his second last time. It should also be noted he has never finished outside the top three in three visits to this venue. Lord Of The Glen completes the shortlist and must be considered for Jim Goldie, who often makes a successful raid here.

Verdict

ARMED RESPONSE put in a game front-running shift when outpointing a subsequent winner over C&D on his latest start in September and, with a 4 lb rise for that fair, he is taken to strike again. Move It Move It was just edged out over 7f here last time and is the main danger ahead of Big Les, who makes some each-way appeal.

Foaled June 6. Half-sister to several winners, including 2-y-o 6.5f winner Special Reward and 1m winner Special Favour. Like stablemate Catch The Tide, she's worth a market check.

Verdict

RUFFINA showed plenty of improvement when upped to a mile last time and the Street Cry filly is backed to go one better than that second-placed effort here. Angelina D'or wasn't disgraced on her first outing at Wolverhampton recently and is entitled to play a part, while the newcomers are headed by Godolphin's Caring Touch, with Arahat and Cuban Fire others who must be given a market check.

Verdict

ANGELINA D'OR shaped well when fourth on recent debut at Wolverhampton and, likely to be more street-wise this time, she gets the nod. Ruffina stepped up on her introduction when chasing home a potentially useful Godolphin filly at Kempton and is an obvious danger. Stablemate Arahat is one to note in the betting, along with Caring Touch, but Cuban Fire may be the pick of the newcomers.

Verdict

Enigmatic backed up his maiden victory at Chelmsford when landing a one-mile Lingfield claimer last time and it will be interesting to see if he can remain competitive off a mark of 73 on his handicap debut. Narrow preference, however, is for ROCK WARBLER, a C&D winner who is only 2lb higher than his last winning mark and hinted his turn was approaching when third, despite encountering trouble in running, at Wolverhampton latest. Recent C&D second Planetaria has been freshened up for a winter campaign and could also finish on the premises.

Verdict

THELLO meets Newmarket Warrior on 5 lb better terms compared to when chasing that rival home over C&D in October and could be the answer for an in-form yard. Rock Warbler and Planetaria are live each-way contenders.

Verdict

Equiano Springs has been raised 3lb for scoring by a short-head over this track and trip last month (with Acrux behind in third and Deansgate back in fourth) and should give another good account of himself, though preference is instead for unexposed Ruth Carr representative BOBBY JOE LEG. The selection struck over 6f here on debut last month and is expected to take an immediate forward step now granted this additional furlong. Tommy G is another expected to appreciate a stiffer test, having regularly been outpaced over 6f this year.

Verdict

Having shaped encouragingly on debut for Stuart Williams at Newmarket, ABLE JACK is fairly appealing. That was his first outing for 14 months so he should be sharper this time and is now 2 lb lower in the weights. Gun Case has to be respected, while My Amigo and Tommy G are both capable of playing a part in the finish. However, unexposed maiden winner Bobby Joe Leg is feared most.
