Verdict

The way TRUE MASON travelled through the Mill Reef suggested he was a high-class performer, until push came to shove on ground probably softer than ideal when second to Kessaar. The drop back from 6f will prove no issue for Karl Burke's colt and he can gain his first Group success. Sergei Prokofiev has seemingly gone backwards in two starts since Royal Ascot, but could easily bounce back to form dropped in both trip and grade, while the likes of Pocket Dynamo, Poetry, and Well Done Fox all have solid credentials on the form they have achieved so far.

Verdict

TRUE MASON shaped very well when runner-up in the Mill Reef, the relative emphasis on stamina seemingly his undoing having moved through the race best of all. The return to the minimum trip will hold no terrors and the son of Mayson can come out on top. Pocket Dynamo, Poetry and Well Done Fox are a trio of others fancied to feature.

Verdict

FROSTY has a wonderful pedigree, being a full sister to multiple Group 1 and dual Guineas heroine Winter, and she made a very encouraging beginning to her career with success in a maiden at Dundalk, a rare occurrence for an Aidan O'Brien juvenile. She is likely to take a big step forward from that debut performance and can cement her claims as a leading contender, before heading towards the classics next season. Hidden Message was an impressive winner on her racecourse debut at Yarmouth when quickening up in smart fashion to win by three and three-quarter lengths. She wears a first-time hood and can play a big role, along with Mistress Of Love, who improved from her debut performance at Ayr with a smooth victory at Newcastle last month.

Verdict

FROSTY is bred in the purple and overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Dundalk late last month, produced to lead 1f out and ultimately winning readily. Open to significant improvement, she can take the rise in class in her stride. Hidden Message was impressive when landing her respective debut at Yarmouth and is feared, along with Angel's Hideaway, who boasts plenty of experience.

Stewards' Cup winner in 2016 and back to that level last 2 starts, ending losing run in Group 3 at Doncaster 4 weeks ago. More needed back against the males, however.

Verdict

Last year's winner Limato has returned to form, after struggling in the first half of the season, winning in Listed company the last twice here on the July course and at York last month. He is top rated in the field and, if running to his best, would undoubtedly be tough to beat. That said, the level of form in those victories this year doesn't amount to much, and D'BAI arguably brings the strongest recent piece of form to the table. His second in the Park Stakes to Mustashry at Doncaster was backed up by that rival going on to win the Joel Stakes here, and Charlie Appleby's gelding can continue the excellent form of the stable. Mankib and Dancing Star both come into this at the top of their game and cannot be discounted up in class.

Verdict

Last year's winner LIMATO is clear on ratings and should prove hard to beat after his back-to-form wins at Newmarket and York. Mankib has made good progress since joining his new yard this season and is feared most ahead of D'bai.

Maiden winner who showed useful form when hitting the frame in Group 2 and Group 1 at the Curragh next 2 starts. Will be suited by return to 1m and open to further progress.

Verdict

The unbeaten ANTONIA DE VEGA has shaped like the step up to a mile would suit in her two career victories over 7f, and the daughter of Lope De Vega is fancied to add a Group 1 success to her already impressive CV. She won cosily on debut and that form has been franked by the reopposing runner-up Zagitova, who is now rated 104 and finished fourth in a Group 1 contest latest. Stablemate Hermosa is the pick of Donnacha O'Brien after her recent Group 3 success, while Pretty Pollyanna wasn't at her best in the Cheveley Park here 13 day ago and should do better this time.

Verdict

HERMOSA looked all about stamina when pipping Zagitova for third in the Moyglare at the Curragh, and, a Group 3 winner at Naas since, is taken to give Aidan O'Brien a sixth win in this. Antonia de Vega did well to take a Group 3 at Goodwood last time and is feared most ahead of Pretty Pollyanna, who's well clear on ratings but has stamina to prove.

Haydock winner in May, but unable to sustain effort back there a fortnight ago and has it all to do up in trip from 9 lb out of the handicap.

Verdict

Ralph Beckett appears to hold a strong hand here with his Bated Breath colt Breath Caught, who is penalised for getting back to winning ways at Kempton last time, and Rock Eagle, who has won two of his four outings in his short career thus far and could improve for a step up from 1m2f. Baritone impressively won a Pontefract maiden last month on his first outing since being gelded and could build on that now moving back into the handicap ranks. However, preference is for ASTRONOMER, who is unbeaten in four since reappearing in August and, despite having to concede weight all round, Aidan O'Brien's Galileo colt can enhance his growing reputation following some taking performances of late.

Verdict

Almost certain to prove strong form, with ROCK EAGLE appealing most given he should relish this trip and could ultimately prove to be better than a handicapper in due course. Astronomer chases a 5-timer and he surely won't go down without a fight, with Baritone another with his best days ahead of him.

Verdict

MARY SOMERVILLE was touched off by a neck over this trip on debut at Kempton and the experience gained that day is unlikely to have been lost on John Gosden's charge, who is taken to strike second time out. Intricate and Rhossili Down are similarly expected to step up on promising debut performances and merit shortlist inclusion, while any money for Godolphin newcomer Firebird Song would be notable.

Verdict

MARY SOMERVILLE created a really good impression when second at Kempton on debut recently, and is sure to win races. Rhossili Down is a similarly promising once-raced filly, while newcomers Prodigious and Nearooz make plenty of appeal on paper.

Verdict

STAR OF WAR was touched off by a short-head in a tight finish over 1m here last time and she is expected to be thereabouts if running to a similar level of form over this shorter trip. Both Night Secret and Nashirah shaped with promise on debut and can take forward steps, while Heritage and Hostess are others to bear in mind in a competitive-looking heat.

Verdict

This is surely a deep back-end maiden, with NIGHT SECRET the suggestion having shaped well from an unpromising position when third starting out at Lingfield 3 weeks ago. Star of War has achieved the most of these so far but the return to 7f is a concern, so Heritage is perhaps the main threat unless there's a smart newcomer lurking.

Smart mare who looked as good as ever when winning listed race at Salisbury by 7 lengths. Disappointed at Yarmouth since but sets a clear standard if quickly bouncing back (won this last year).
