Winner at Brighton earlier this month but failed to beat a rival 2 days later and now has a penalty to carry.

Verdict

POUR LA VICTOIRE has been a model of consistency over the last couple of months and returns to a mile for the first time since winning a Brighton handicap in April. He has gone close on his last three outings and can return to winning ways here. Trulee Scrumptious won this race 12 months ago and will find a drop in grade to her liking, while Lunar Deity is respected on his second at Yarmouth last time.

Verdict

SLOW TO HAND shaped better than the distance beaten suggests at Yarmouth last time and is well worth another chance to confirm the promise of his second there a weak earlier. Pour La Victoire and King of Dreams are others to consider.

Showed much-improved form, in first-time visor, when winning 12-runner handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f) 9 days ago. This looks tougher, though, and has to shoulder 6 lb penalty.

Verdict

DANCETERIA improved from his returning outing on the Rowley Mile behind Old Persian when getting the better of George Villiers over a mile at Sandown 15 days ago and the way he finished off suggests the return to 1m2f should pose no issue. The aforementioned George Villiers meets on better terms and should improve for the extra couple of furlongs, while Jack Regan was third behind Corgi at Sandown last time and could have more to offer.

Verdict

DANCETERIA had a little bit in hand when landing a Sandown handicap last time and looks well worth another try at this longer trip. He is narrowly preferred to George Villiers, who finished just behind the selection last time and could well have more to offer yet.

Verdict

ALNASHERAT shaped with plenty of encouragement when third on debut at Leicester and the son of Kingman looks the type to take a fair step forward from that outing with his trainer's juveniles tending to improve for racing. Godolphin have some well-bred types making their debuts with Quorto, a son of Dubawi out of the dual Oaks third Volume, an interesting contender along with the only filly in the race Handmaiden, who is another home-bred making her introduction for the in-form John Gosden.

Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute appears to have an exciting 2-y-o on his hands in the form of ALNASHERAT, who shaped very well on his debut at Leicester last month, and looks one to follow. Godolphin introduce a trio of interesting newcomers, namely Quorto, Journey of Life and Handmaiden, with the market likely to offer up some clues.

Remains a maiden following 8 attempts and, judged on this season's efforts, he's unlikely to buck that trend here.

Verdict

ELHAFEI was no match for Beachwalk on his handicap debut at Yarmouth but the son of Speightstown can improve from that outing and has blinkers now applied to potentially get him off the mark at the fifth attempt. Mankind is another in the field to have first-time blinkers and the assistance of Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle, while others to consider include recent Nottingham winner Whitehall and Arigato.

Verdict

Several of these remain open to improvement, not least WHITEHALL, who responded well when coming from off the pace to collar My Boy Sepoy in the closing stages at Nottingham recently. The latter enjoys a 6 lb swing at the weights but Sir Michael Stoute's charge is taken to come out on top again. Others to consider include Elhafei and Icart Point, while Taurean Dancer also enters calculations.

Still looking for first success and hard to fancy from so far out of the handicap. Wears first-time cheekpieces.

Verdict

Wolverhampton winner PROMISING continues to go the right way and can make it successive victories now reverting to grass. Her previous second to George Of Hearts rates as strong form, and the Richard Hannon-trained four-year-old can continue her forward momentum. Make Music handles varying ground and did it well on the Lingfield turf last time, while Al Nafoorah looked to need the run on her reappearance and merits a second look.

Verdict

PROMISING got off the mark at Wolverhampton last time and looks on a workable mark for her first crack in handicap company. She is taken to score again. Homeopathic clearly wasn't herself last time and could prove dangerous. Make Music is next best.

Brother to smart Sacred Act and caught the eye when running on into seventh on Sandown debut over this trip 15 days ago. Will improve.

Verdict

Loxley was deemed good enough to run in the Racing Post Trophy on just his second career start and will improve as a three-year-old, while Orange Suit hasn't been witnessed since winning on debut at Newbury in September and should enjoy this step up in distance being a half-brother to St Leger winner Simple Verse. Richard Hannon is well represented, though, and RAYMOND TUSK could prove best of the pair at this stage. The son of High Chaparral still holds an entry in the Eclipse, and created a lasting impression on his successful introduction at Newbury.

Verdict

A very interesting novice event. RAYMOND TUSK's easy Newbury debut win marks him down as a smart prospect and he can make it 2-2 but this should provide a good test of his credentials, as Loxley is a colt with lots of potential himself, while the likes of Orange Suit and Star of Bengal could also have plenty more to come.

Better than result (left with too much to do) when third of 12 in handicap (7/1) at Catterick (5f, good) 29 days ago. Capable of going close off this sort of mark.

Verdict

FLYING FOXY put in her best handicap performance to date when second at Leicester last week and must be of interest turned out so quickly with Silvestre De Sousa booked to ride. The four-year-old represents a handler with a decent record on this course and she can account for Little Miss Lola, who continues to run well in defeat, and Sitar, who is unproven on ground as quick as this. La Fortuna can land a minor share of the pot.

Verdict

FLYING FOXY went close off this mark at Leicester last Saturday and can go one better now with Silvestre De Sousa doing the steering. Sitar will be suited by the return to 5f and may prove next best ahead of La Fortuna.
