Pulled up all 3 starts in points and looked slow when well-beaten third on bumper debut at Worcester earlier this month. Longer trip now will help.

Verdict

PUSH THE TEMPO continued his unbeaten spell under Rules when following up his Worcester bumper success on his hurdling debut here. He carries a penalty for that July success, but appears a progressive individual with more to offer. Quite By Chance is better known for his exploits as a chaser but is respected back over hurdles, while Heydour looks capable of further improvement having stepped forward on his last start.

Verdict

A tricky race to start the card. SUPER SCORPION showed he has enough ability to win a race of this nature when second at Ffos Las in June so he gets the nod. No Hiding Place didn’t take to chasing but is respected now back over hurdles. Heydour needs more but remains relatively unexposed.

Proved a success between the flags, and benefitted from the extra distance when narrow winner here (21f) in July. Runner-up over C&D last 2 starts for this rider.

Verdict

MERCERS COURT has turned a corner, with victories at Worcester and Fontwell in the last month, and Neil King's gelding can defy a 7lb rise for the latter success. Exxaro has struggled in novice company behind two Nicky Henderson inmates recently, but a return to handicaps may see him in a better light. Others to consider include Allez Jacques, who ran well before falling at the last at Stratford on his chase debut, and Top Chief, who has been very consistent over the summer.

Verdict

MERCERS COURT re-found some form last month, winning twice, and remains potentially well treated. Kings Temptation and Aunty Ann both arrive in good heart and are others to consider.

Lightly raced but progressive in bumpers, getting off the mark at Newton Abbot in May 2016. Clearly hard to train and offered little on hurdles debut in October.

Verdict

ACKER BILK improved when getting off the mark on his hurdling debut at Worcester at the end of last month, having had one previous run for David Pipe on the Flat at Haydock. He has a penalty to carry, but this doesn't look a particularly strong contest. Shiroccan Roll showed up well in both his bumpers last season, while a hood could aid Auld Sod, who finished fourth earlier in the week at Worcester. Casement is also of interest now that he goes jumping.

Verdict

ACKER BILK made a very encouraging start to his hurdles career when successful at Worcester a month ago and he holds sound follow-up claims under a penalty. Casement probably didn't fulfil his potential on the level but has joined another good yard and possesses the raw ability to be a factor in this sphere.

Verdict

C&D winner LADIES DANCING may have risen 8lb for scoring at Stratford last month, but he won that contest like a horse with a bit up his sleeve and the 12-year-old has run well from higher marks in the past. Rocket Ronnie has gone close the last twice and remains on a workable rating, with Norse Light and Be Daring both capable of making their presence felt as well.

Verdict

LADIES DANCING ran out a convincing winner from a reduced mark at Stratford last time and looks sure to make another bold bid from the front with room to manoeuvre from his reassessed mark. The in-form Rocket Ronnie will pose the biggest threat ahead of Friary Gold, who shaped nicely here on his penultimate start.

Verdict

Flying Tiger was just a neck in front of DIVIN BERE when they met in their juvenile hurdle days, finishing one-two in the 2017 Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival. The latter, now in the hands of Paul Nicholls, can gain his long-awaited revenge as the exciting chasing prospects begin life in their new discipline, having both have undergone wind surgery over the summer. Smart hurdler Highway One O One can give the leading duo something to think about.

Verdict

HIGHWAY ONE O ONE, Flying Tiger and Divin Bere are closely matched on their useful hurdles form and all look good chasing prospects. Chris Gordon's string continue in good nick ahead of Highway One O One's return and the 6-y-o just shades the verdict in an intriguing contest.

Verdict

GUERRILLA TACTICS turned his useful summer form into a victory when getting his head in front at Stratford and despite a 5lb rise making life tougher, he is backed to overcome the challenge here. C&D winner Gamain was back in fourth that day and may be able to finish closer on the revised terms, while Tea Time Fred and Flying Verse make each-way appeal.

Verdict

None of these boast massively compelling profiles and perhaps this could be the day when TEA TIME FRED finally gets his head back in front. Western Sunrise is another who has found wins hard to come by but she is likely to figure if none the worse for a fall last time. Guerrilla Tactics has gone up 5 lb for his latest Stratford success but his consistent profile suggests he'll figure again.
