Created a positive impression when scoring in a Fontwell bumper (17.7f) in October 2016, and is bred to be suited by this step up in trip on her hurdles debut.

Verdict

Suzy Smith is 13-45 at this venue in the last five years and her BOLD IMAGE was an impressive scorer at Fontwell when last seen 13 months ago. Smith trained her mother, Golden Bay, to win a Listed race at Cheltenham and this six-year-old looks poised to continue her progress receiving weight all round. Tikkanbar was deemed good enough to run in the Grade 2 Aintree bumper in April and deserves respect in this sphere, while recent Worcester scorer Landin is another name to note.

Verdict

TIKKANBAR was bordering on the level of a useful bumper performer last season, and he could be one to follow over timber. Landin is very much respected under a penalty, while Bold Image is bred to be suited by this step up in trip on her hurdling bow.

Won 2m heavy-ground Ludlow maiden hurdle in 2016. Should have come on for recent Huntingdon return when well backed but will do well to take this from exciting stablemate.

Verdict

Benatar had some smart form in the book last season behind the likes of Le Breuil and Finian's Oscar, and he landed the odds in fine style on his reappearance at Ascot earlier this month, travelling well before slamming the opposition down the home straight. Britanio Bello has plenty to find, but KEEPER HILL certainly represents a big threat to Gary Moore's charge. Warren Greatrex's charge beat Benatar over hurdles by 12 lengths at Huntingdon back in February, and he can confirm that running here.

Verdict

BENATAR could take high order among the novice chasers this season after his impressive comeback at Ascot and he'll take all the beating with a clear round.

Big prices and has merely hinted at promise so far, but he is still pretty unexposed at least and now sports a tongue tie.

Verdict

Neil Mulholland does well with his new recruits, so it wasn't the greatest of surprises to see DALAMAN make a winning debut for the Wiltshire-based handler. An 8lb rise could still underestimate the six-year-old, and he should have come on markedly for that first run in 12 months. Past course winner Kastani Beach ran well in a competitive Exeter event four weeks ago and looks the main danger, with Our Merlin potentially best of the modest remainder.

Verdict

DALAMAN was well prepared to make a successful start for Neil Mulholland following a year off the track at Chepstow last month, and he has the potential to rate quite a bit higher. This is an obvious follow-up opportunity, with Our Merlin preferred to Kastani Beach for forecast purposes.

Returned from 2-year absence to run out an emphatic winner in tough conditions at Ffos Las in March. Went close there on return last week and player if not finding this coming too soon.

Verdict

SANDHURST LAD was highly tried last season behind some nice types in the shape of Sneaky Feeling and Willoughby Court, and should appreciate this decent ground under handy 5lb amateur Adam Elias. The six-year-old's mark of 108 looks workable and he can account for Rothman, who seemed to enjoy the application of first-time cheekpieces when second at this venue a fortnight ago, and Chef D'Equipe, who was just behind the latter in that same race and should have come on plenty for the outing on what was his stable bow.

Verdict

CHEF D'EQUIPE made a promising start for new connections when third over this C&D 2 weeks ago, shaping ahead of his mark for a long way, and earns the vote over Flanagans Field and Astrum.

Three-time winner last season and latest second at Fakenham 19 days ago suggests he's coming back to the boil.

Verdict

MASTER BURBIDGE fell when still in touch at Wincanton in a better race recently and if that mishap hasn't left a mark, this progressive gelding should take some stopping despite the burden of top weight. Mr Muddle is a consistent performer and has performed well here in the past, while Saint Contest is unexposed and is another to consider for leading connections.

Verdict

MASTER BURBIDGE's winning run came to an end when taking a tumble at Wincanton on his return last week but he remains one to be positive about if none the worse. Saint Contest lost his saddle early doors on his chase debut last month and remains with potential, while Little Windmill and Helium both took a step back in the right direction last time.

Posted solid placed efforts twice here earlier this year and respectable fourth when last seen at Kempton (21f) 7 months ago. Doesn't have much in hand off this mark, though.

Scored over fences in May but been disappointing since and was well behind Roparta Avenue at Fontwell last time.

Scored over fences in May but been disappointing since and was well behind Roparta Avenue at Fontwell last time.

Verdict

ROPARTA AVENUE improved for the fitting of a visor when beating Lady Of Langstone at Fontwell recently and another bold showing looks assured here as he remains on a decent mark. Miss Mayfair is expected to run her usual honest race but feared most is Landscape, who is very well treated off 90 on the pick of his form and is only 1lb higher than when finishing a close second over C&D two starts back.

Verdict

ROPARTA AVENUE got back on the scoreboard at Fontwell recently and has already registered a victory at this course (over fences). He is taken to follow up in the finale. Mab Dab and Miss Mayfair can fight it out for the minor honours.
