Lightly-raced maiden. Visored for 1st time, creditable 6¼ lengths fifth of 13 to Camelot Rakti in nursery (12/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 16 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Something to find on form.

Verdict

Ayr victor Firewater and the consistent Gabrial The One give Richard Fahey a strong hand but they may have to settle for supporting roles behind CAMELOT RAKTI. James Tate's filly has got better as she has stepped up in distance and the form of her comprehensive Wolverhampton success was boosted when the runner-up went one better next time. There is a handful of interesting nursery newcomers in here, not least Manton Warrior, Golden Parade and Tony Chestnut.

Verdict

GABRIAL THE ONE failed to justify support at Chester last time but has a big shout on his previous second in a nursery there off this sort of mark. He gets the vote over Wolverhampton-winner Camelot Rakti and Manton Warrior. It will be interesting to see if there is money again for Golden Parade, who had been well backed when withdrawn at the start at York earlier this month.

Verdict

Usain Boat's first run following a gelding operation was dreadful but perhaps he can show his true colours now he encounters a rain-softened surface again. Even so, he has something to prove, whereas SHALLOW HAL arrives on the back of an impressive Ayr triumph and looks open to even more improvement in testing conditions. Rockshore's two best efforts have come on the Polytrack but he did beat Just Later when they took minor honours at Chelmsford.

Verdict

Not a race that will take a lot of winning and SHALLOW HAL has a great chance of following up his Ayr victory. Just Later is feared most ahead of Rockshore.

Course winner. Good fourth of 15 in handicap at this course (8f, soft, 25/1) 14 days ago, nearest finish. Back up in trip.

Verdict

Wajaaha has made the frame on each his three starts so far but isn't exactly thrown in on his handicap debut, and DEJA could be better treated. An expensive breeze-up purchase, he left Jeremy Noseda following a Wolverhampton win and a 13-month absence didn't bother him because he just about made a winning start to life with Peter Chapple-Hyam at Chester. Dark Devil is consistent enough and makes a rare trip away from the Roodee, while heavy going was possibly too much for Armandihan at Ayr and he is better than he showed there.

Verdict

DEJA showed a good attitude to prevail at Chester on his comeback from a year off and might have more to offer now handicapping. He's a tentative choice in this wide-open handicap. Fellow Newmarket-raider Wajaaha is similarly unexposed and makes some appeal. Armandihan and Dance King are among the local runners who have fair claims.

€100,000 buy from good family. Won 13-runner maiden at Salisbury (7f, good to firm, 6/1) on debut 46 days ago, readily. Open to progress and big shout.

Verdict

I'LL HAVE ANOTHER is thriving and took her game to a new level when beating all bar an exciting Ballydoyle colt in the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket. The drop back from a mile and a quarter will suit her and she can register the second Listed success of her career. Her connections should know where they stand with Three Comets because they saddled one to account for Roger Varian's juvenile at Epsom. Manuela De Vega did it well on her Salisbury debut and deserves a crack at this sort of prize.

Verdict

MANUELA DE VEGA was a ready winner on debut at Salisbury and is likely well up to this grade. She can remain unbeaten. I'll Have Another is tough and looks the danger.

Verdict

GIFTS OF GOLD was a warm order for his belated introduction and there was plenty to like about his Ripon performance, despite having to play second fiddle to an experienced rival rated 79. The Godolphin inmate should step forward from the outing and is preferred to Imaginative, who showed improvement to fill the runner-up berth at Nottingham on his first start since being gelded. It is concerning that Lord Of The Pace hasn't seen a racecourse so far but with three-time bumper winner Happy Hollow being off for so long, he is put forward for third.

Verdict

GIFTS OF GOLD and Imaginative immediately make the most appeal with the Godolphin gelding getting the vote. He shaped like the best horse in the race when going down only to one with previous experience at Ripon and looks sure to improve. The step up in trip will suit Imaginative and he's surely capable of winning something.

Twice-raced filly. Fourth of 5 in minor event at Kempton (12f, 8/1) 61 days ago.

Verdict

The less competitive of the two divisions and with Muthanaa beaten such a long way at Haydock on Friday, preference is for LADY ANNALEE, who has shown some promise in a couple of appearances over this trip on rain-affected ground. Beer With The Boys boasts the same official rating as Karl Burke's filly but has to give her 5lb, while it is interesting that Joe Fanning partners Baileys Artist, given Mark Johnston's other runner Galitello has marginally the better form.

Verdict

LADY ANNALEE has been catching the eye and can open her account in a maiden that is unlikely to take much winning. Beer With The Boys and Muthanaa are also considered.

Verdict

Bodacious Name brought SO NEAR SO FARHH's winning run to an end over course and distance a couple of weeks ago, but the Mick Channon-trained filly suffered trouble at a crucial stage and can gain her revenge on slightly better terms. Wishing Well, Rubenesque and Hediddodinthe were all behind on that occasion but Cray has winning form here, and Royal Flag registered a deserved victory at Ayr so commands attention as well.

Verdict

SO NEAR SO FARHH is taken to reverse recent C&D placings with Bodacious Name given her rival was seen to much better effect. Mick Channon's filly remains on a workable mark and can resume winning ways if things pan out better for her this time. Rubenesque was another caught in a poor position in the same race and should get a lot closer now. Ayr-winner Royal Flag is also interesting.

Twenty nine runs since last win in 2015. Below form ninth of 16 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, soft, 8/1) 44 days ago, wilting over 1f out. Interesting if young 7 lb claimer can get him to show more.
