Maiden. 7/2, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good to soft) 29 days ago. Something to find on form and drawn wide.

Verdict

ZLATAN was thwarted by a neck over this trip at Chepstow last time but he's able to run off a 1lb lower mark (was due to be dropped for his previous effort at Brighton) and rates the one to beat on these terms as he's now officially 2lb ahead of the assessor. Almunther drops back from 1m2f after picking up minor money at Beverley and could be keeping on well at the finish, while recent Thirsk second Zeshov could also take a hand.

Verdict

ZLATAN ran his best race for a while when second at Chepstow last week and has a big shout if in the same form. Zeshov and course-regular Trinity Star are a couple of others to consider.

C&D winner. Off 6 months and had wind operation, last of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f, 12/1) 25 days ago. Needs a big return to form.

Verdict

NEW SOCIETY looked on good terms with himself when bolting up over this trip at Catterick last month and another bold bid beckons as he bids to notch a swift double. Azam is sporting a new headgear combination after going down by under a length over 1m6f at Nottingham last time and could give the selection most to think about. The pick of the remainder may be C&D scorer Croquembouche, who is expected to build on his last effort at Ascot now eased into 0-80 company.

Verdict

AZAM continues in good form and can resume winning ways. New Society won in good style on his return at Catterick and looks the biggest danger ahead of Alfred Richardson.

Foaled February 14. 21,000 gns foal, 21,000 gns yearling, £55,000 2-y-o, Kyllachy colt. Dam 2-y-o 5f winner.

Verdict

CELEBRITY DANCER kept on strongly in the finish when making a winning debut over 5f here earlier in the month and this longer trip is expected to continue his improvement. Ninetythreetwenty was putting in his best work at the finish when striking over 5f at Doncaster first time out and is another for whom this extra furlong appear ideal. Mark Johnston has won the last two runnings of this contest and his Doncaster winner, Victory Command, gives him a viable chance of completing a hat-trick.

Verdict

CELEBRITY DANCER looked potentially useful when making a winning debut at this venue earlier this month, and he seems sure to do better now upped to 6f. Ninetythreetwenty also has potential, while The Greatestshowman may not progress much in the short term, but is respected nonetheless.

Verdict

Alsvinder was sent off favourite for his last start on the all-weather and was rated 94. He finished third and let his supporters down, but he's potentially thrown in now returning to turf on a 20lb-lower perch. Bosham has returned to form in recent months and should give it his best shot on the front end, though with Tavener and the selection two other rivals for the lead, perhaps this will be set up nicely for FOXTROT KNIGHT to add another C&D victory to his tally, for all he's 5lb higher than when scoring here on his penultimate outing.

Verdict

MUSHARRIF needs to shake off a poor run last time, but he has edged down the weights to an attractive mark, and given speed is his forte, a bold bid isn’t out the question returned to the minimum trip. Patrick has shown enough to think he will pay his way this year for new connections, while Tavener is another who could go well from the plum draw.

Thrice-raced maiden. Eighth of 12 in minor event at York (7f, good, 28/1), needing stiffer test. Off 7 months and makes handicap debut. Will be suited by 1¼m+ and remains with potential.

Verdict

Inflexiball finished just out of the frame off this mark at Beverley last time and could feasibly play a minor role but narrow preference is for SHE'S PUKKA, who stayed on strongly to win a 1m1f maiden on heavy ground at Carlisle on debut and is expected to see out this trip now going back handicapping off a mark of 70. Lucy's Law has been dropped 1lb for finishing third over this trip at Ripon last summer and is worth a market check now returning from a subsequent break.

Verdict

SEMPRE PRESTO rates a likely improver now heading into handicaps upped in trip, so she receives the vote. She's Pukka seemed to be caught out by the lack of a recent run at Wetherby and she may yet do better, while Inflexiball ought to remain competitive.

Verdict

ANGELS is improving between runs and rates the one to beat on the back of her four-length romp over this trip at Ripon last time. Breaking Records is more exposed than the selection though he has been running over longer trips of late and may be able to pick up some minor money now returned to sprinting. Begging Bowl should be all the wiser for the experience gained on debut at Newcastle last summer and is a potential improver now stepped up in trip.

Verdict

A good opportunity for ANGELS to follow up her impressive Ripon success. Breaking Records drops out of handicaps and might be her biggest danger ahead of likely-improver Begging Bowl.
