Verdict

Karl Burke's HARPERELLE has been beaten less than a length on both of her outings so far and could easily build on her Leicester outing earlier this month. Usain Boat has failed to build on his Woodcote Stakes second, but the drop to five furlongs and a couple of months off the track may have done the trick, while Big Ace has plenty of experience to call upon.

Verdict

HARPERELLE bumped into the fairly useful Blame Roberta (pair clear) on her recent return to action at Leicester and has good prospects of going one better now. Master Matt showed clear promise at Windsor and could be the one to give Karl Burke's filly most to do ahead of Usain Boat.

Verdict

MECCA'S GIFT was much improved when stepped up in trip here last time and could be feasibly treated as she looks to build on that third placed effort moving into nurseries for the first time. Schnapps was another to improve last time and now gets the chance to continue that progression up in trip. Tie A Yellowribbon could be popular but has disappointed on her two attempts at this distance, while Reddiac needs to justify his lofty 240,000 guineas price tag.

Verdict

The Leicester race in which REDDIAC was fourth in last time has thrown up a couple of winners and he's taken to come good at the sixth time of asking. Mecca's Gift, Schnapps and Jackamundo appeal as likely improvers now handicapping and head the dangers.

C&D winner. 25/1, respectable sixth of 15 in handicap at York (7f, good) 9 days ago. Likely to be competitive again.

Verdict

RACEMAKER has won two of his last three outings and having received just a 2lb rise for his course success last month should be involved once again if proving just as effective down to seven furlongs. Doncaster winner Pursuing Steed is respected off a 5lb higher mark, while Oakley Brown's 7lb allowance brings Equitant into calculations along with the useful Ingenuity, who is sliding down the ratings.

Verdict

FIRMDECISIONS seemed unsuited by the drop back to 6f and is worth another chance to show he's still on a good mark. Doncaster winner Pursuing Steed should go well if the blinkers continue to have the desired effect, while Racemaker can extend his run of good efforts.

Finally got off the mark over C&D in May and has gone in twice since. Never involved at Musselburgh last time but offered enough to suggest she's still in form.

Verdict

Mr Strutter has won two of his last three and merits respect, but faces a career-high mark now. Similar sentiments apply to Catterick specialist Extrasolar, who is another who arrives here with recent winning form to his name, but is creeping up the ratings. Therefore preference is for DIRCHILL, who produced his best performance since winning at Ayr in July when third last time and the return to six furlongs should be in his favour.

Verdict

EXTRASOLAR had a bit up his sleeve at Catterick last time so a 3 lb rise may not prevent him notching another win. Spirit of Wedza wasn't too far behind the selection in third on that occasion and can continue his own run of good form. Mr Strutter is another enjoying a productive season and he also makes the shortlist along with David Barron's Dirchill.

Beaten a long way both runs for new yard and can only be watched at present.

Verdict

KNIGHTED has taken a step forward on his last couple of starts with wins over C&D and at Pontefract on his latest outing. He has only gone up a total of 9lb in the handicap and looks capable of landing the hat-trick. Deadly Accurate looked to enjoy the return to front-running tactics on his most recent start at Epsom and looks capable of further improvement under a similar ride. Others to consider include Pepys, who seeks a four-timer, and Poet's Dawn.

Verdict

A competitive handicap. ELERFAAN's latest Thirsk fourth has worked out well and an opening mark in the mid-80s could prove manageable with further progress a distinct possibility, but there are plenty of dangers, headed by recent Beverley 1-2 Pepys and Poet's Dawn. Give It Some Teddy and Royal Shaheen are a couple of others who could go well.

Verdict

FIELD GUN built on a good debut effort when an easy winner at Chelmsford last month at prohibitive odds. Despite carrying a penalty for that success, he looks capable of defying it in a contest that doesn't look particularly strong on paper. Hermana Santa showed some useful form in 2017 and can be in the mix if over what has kept her off the track, while Cape Hill Cotter took a step forward when fourth at Newcastle last time and has solid credentials.

Verdict

It's impossible to get away from FIELD GUN who demolished a weak field at Chemsford 3 weeks ago and is expected to do likewise here. The battle for minor honours promises to be tighter, with Hermana Santa, newcomer Majeem and Cape Hill Cotter all likely to be involved.
