Last of 9 in minor event at Thirsk (6f, good, 40/1) on debut 27 days ago.

Verdict

Murqaab found the Windsor Castle much too hot to handle at Royal Ascot and will appreciate having his sights lowered, but THREE CARD TRICK would appear to have more scope for improvement. Kevin Ryan's youngster ran a race full of promise when runner-up to a good juvenile in Dunkerron at York, and that experience will have brought him on. The newcomer Sosume changed hands for 105,000 euros earlier this year and has been given a Gimcrack entry.

Verdict

THREE CARD TRICK shaped with plenty of promise when finding only one too good starting out at York 16 days ago, pulling clear of the rest, and this Group-2 entered colt should take some stopping here. Murqaab is back at a more realistic level, while Sosume looks an interesting newcomer.

First run since leaving J. S. Moore when last of 5 in claimer (100/1) at Catterick (5f, good to firm) 5 days ago. Tongue strap on first time. Makes handicap debut. Hard to fancy from 10 lb wrong.

Verdict

There would be no more deserving winner than Implicit, who has hit the crossbar on his last three appearances, but perhaps ROCA MAGICA begins handicap life on a more attractive mark after showing a modicum of promise in three competitive events. Moojim and Majestic Appeal boast similar profiles, while Mayson Mac was pitched in at the deep end at the Royal meeting but will relish this far less taxing assignment.

Verdict

IMPLICIT has already been expensive to follow, but her opening mark appeals as being a very fair one, so she's well worth another chance. Mayson Mac is back at a more suitable level and he should give it a good go, while Roca Magica appeals as the type to do better in nurseries.

Thrice-raced maiden. 50/1, first run since leaving George Baker when sixth of 10 in minor event at Newcastle (7.1f) 17 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Makes handicap debut. Stiff task.

Verdict

MIDNIGHT MALIBU couldn't quite make an impact in a competitive sprint on the Knavesmire but she had previously numbered Merry Banter among her victims when registering a Haydock victory, and Tim Easterby's mare can defy her welter burden. Rosina's latest Beverley performance suggested that she is coming back to herself, whereas Machree arrives on the back of a Catterick disappointment but previously looked good when triumphing at Redcar.

Verdict

MIDNIGHT MALIBU dips back in class and has to be feared on the form of her Haydock win last month. Rosina looks the main threat, ahead of Machree.

Latest win at Thirsk in June. 14/1, good third of 8 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Clearly in good nick.

Verdict

BUCCANEERS VAULT paid for the trip to Ireland when making the frame over this distance at the Curragh's Irish Derby fixture and Paul Midgley's sprinter takes in this contest on the same mark, which is only 5lb higher than when he prevailed in a driving Thirsk finish on his penultimate outing. Gin In The Inn is capable of getting involved but can be a bit hit-and-miss so a bigger danger might be Dubai One, who fared satisfactorily on her return to British action at Chelmsford.

Verdict

PIPERS NOTE hasn't really fired this term, but his mark reflects that and he has plenty of previous over this C&D, so he could be the answer. Buccaneers Vault arrives here fit and in form, which may count for plenty, while Dubai One eases in class back on turf.

Verdict

MUTADAFFEQ has been running well in defeat this summer, yet the assessor keeps loosening his grip and this appears an ideal opportunity for David O'Meara's gelding to end a barren spell that stretches back for almost a year. Sea Youmzain hasn't gone on from a stirring Haydock victory but she may not have liked the Polytrack last time. Kajaki is probably more effective over further but has had a wind operation since he was last seen.

Verdict

MUTADAFFEQ arrives in very good order despite failing to taste success this term, and with his yard in rude health, he can rectify that here. Atkinson Grimshaw is back at a much more realistic level and is feared most.

Promising sort. 7/2, fourth of 8 in minor event at Newbury (8f, good to firm) on debut 32 days ago, slowly away. Step up in trip bound to suit and she's very much the one to beat.

Verdict

SNOW WIND shaped for all the world like the step up to this distance is what she needs when a promising fourth on her racecourse introduction at Newbury. The experience won't be lost on her either, and the form is strong because the runner-up has since come out and bolted up. This appears straightforward for William Haggas' filly because Agincourt and Qawamees would seem the main dangers but both were beaten a long way on their latest outings.

Verdict

SNOW WIND displayed plenty of ability amidst obvious greenness when fourth on debut at Newbury last month, and with this step up in trip sure to suit, she is expected to take this before moving on to better things. Qawamees and Agincourt both recoiled from promising opening efforts last time but can fight out minor honours.

Verdict

AIRPLANE left his previous efforts a long way behind when prevailing in a tight finish over track and trip last month, and a 5lb rise appears fair given the potential he possesses. As the only three-year-old in the line-up, he can teach his elders a lesson, but Rockliffe will be a tough nut to crack after faring better than subsequent C&D runner-up Trautmann when second here, prior to a spin over timber.

Verdict

AIRPLANE's profile rather stands out as a last-time-out winner taking on his elders for the first time, so he has to be the call. Trautmann is a long-standing maiden but shaped well when second over C&D last time, while Ghostly Arc can also figure.
