Improved to win 2 of her 3 starts this term, including a Leicester handicap last month. Well on top that day so respected despite 7 lb rise.

Verdict

The form of BLITZ's game Windsor success looks fairly strong with the fourth-placed horse subsequently notching up a double and, with quicker conditions unlikely to pose a problem, she gets the vote to defy a 4lb rise. Other last-time-out scorers Tahoo and Ocelot warrant plenty of respect while Fair Cop will appreciate dropping back in trip and Ascot Day faces his easiest task since switching to handicap company.

Verdict

FAIR COP did too much too soon on her handicap bow at Windsor and is worth another chance having looked a useful prospect when winning her maiden. This does look competitive, however, with Tahoo, Ocelot and Blitz all arriving on the back of career-best wins.

Well held both starts.

Verdict

Simply Breathless looks to have solid claims but for stall 12, similarly Cheeky Rascal who comes out of box 10. Dance To Paris has had better look with the draw and the way she stuck on over 6f at Pontefract suggests that stepping up in distance will suit, but GROUNDNUT edges the vote. He is another likely to improve for stretching out in trip and will prove tough to beat if stepping forward from his last-time-out second at Salisbury.

Verdict

GROUNDNUT confirmed the promise of her debut when finding only Simply Breathless too strong at Salisbury a month ago, and is weighted to reverse the form with that rival. Cheeky Rascal is the type to go on progressing and is the pick of the rest unless there's significant support behind a newcomer.

Verdict

A few with claims here but DRAGON DREAM always had matters under control when running out an all-the-way winner at Kempton three weeks ago and she seems sure to lay down another bold bid. Harba managed to win her maiden at the fourth attempt and an opening mark of 68 might be underestimating her ability, while A Sure Welcome has every chance if able to translate his all-weather form to turf.

Verdict

The form of HARBA's Beverley maiden win received a boost when the runner-up won nicely at Chester since and an opening handicap mark in the 60s could underestimate this William Haggas-trained filly. A Sure Welcome showed he's just as good on turf as AW when third at Lingfield last time and should figure again, while last month's Kempton scorer Dragon Dream can also get involved.

Verdict

SELECTION'S recent success at Yarmouth has taken a fair boost with the runner-up Chiefofchiefs having won his next two starts, including a competitive handicap at York on Saturday, and he may well find further improvement for the application of first-time cheekpieces. Make Time was considered good enough for a crack at the Greenham when down the field behind Barney Roy but he is capable of better, while Captain Courageous arrives after a win at Haydock last month.

Verdict

SELECTION made all in a small field when beating a subsequent winner at Yarmouth last month and may be able to dominate again. The interesting alternative is lightly-raced 3-y-o Make Time, who was far from disgraced in face of a stiff task in the Greenham on return and remains with potential.

Maiden/handicap winner up to 1m last summer who made more of an impact from sliding mark when midfield at Kempton (1m) 2 weeks ago.

Verdict

Sir Plato is a confirmed front runner who is going the right way having won four of his last five outings over a mile. His only defeat came at this trip at Beverley and his presence in the race will be of assistance to EYNHALLOW. The son of Nathaniel won on his handicap debut at Goodwood before returning to the same track and being inconvenienced by the lack of pace on offer. The stiff finish here will play to his strengths and he can continue to progress through the handicap ranks. Okool disappointed when looking a non-stayer at Chester but does look to be fairly treated on the best of his maiden form and the Owen Burrows yard are in fine form with their three-year-old handicappers having had a double at the weekend.

Verdict

EYNHALLOW has proved a different proposition switched to handicaps this term, scoring at Goodwood in May and looking rather unfortunate having been unsuited by the steady pace when third back there in June. Operating from the same mark, he looks sure to make a bold bid to resume winning ways. Mouille Point and Okool are others to consider, while Buzz also needs keeping an eye on.

No signs of improvement on handicap debut at Brighton last time and tries a big jump up in trip here.

No signs of improvement on handicap debut at Brighton last time and tries a big jump up in trip here.

Verdict

SUSSEX RANGER has the caught the eye on both his outings in handicap company this year having ran on well at Kempton before looking to want a step up in trip at Windsor. The step up to 1m6f is guaranteed to eke out improvement and his trainer Gary Moore has an excellent record at one of his local tracks. Veiled Secret has first-time cheekpieces which need to help him concentrate after running waywardly over C&D last month, while Padrinho has the scope for further improvement at staying distances having posted a career best at Wetherby over the same trip last time.

Verdict

VEILED SECRET is bred for this sort of test and duly produced a career best when stepped up to this trip here last month. It's likely we haven't seen the best of him yet and he is taken to land the finale. Sussex Ranger is also on the upgrade and is feared most, whilst Padrinho and The Secrets Out also enter calculations.
